I called Raleigh Roto-Rooter plumbers to clean out two of my drains that had been problems for a few years. They made an appointment for the next day. They called ahead and arrived in the 2-hour window as scheduled. The plumber made sure that he understood the problems and explained to me what he recommened be done, why he was recommending it and any possible problems that might arise because of my old cast iron and galvanized lines. He gave me a quote and I authorized the work. He completed the work that afternoon and was careful to thouroughly clean the area and check for any leaks at the connections he had to remove for access. Before he left, he went down a thorough check list of pumbing issues and suggestions of how I could prevent problems in the future. Called Roto-Rooter Plumbers from Raleigh to help fix a clogged underground drain problem. My downspouts were backing up flooding the entire property. The plumber from this Raleigh company was very efficient and within a short time unclogged the problem which was caused by roots from my landscaping entering the pipes. We had a leak at the emergency shutoff valve for our washing machine. After calling on Saturday, our plumber (John) was at our house in under an hour. He was a complete professional and took the time to explain the different types of valves we could use for a repair. He went out of his way to find the valve we agreed would be the best fit and came back on Sunday (right on time) and finished the repair. He took the time to rehook up my washing machine, take me through all the plumbing of my house, and show me some tips for shutting off the water at the road if necessary. I had finished using my shower and moved the ancient inverter valve to switch the water flow from the shower head back to the tubs faucet when it broke and spewed water across the tub from the valve. I returned from several months abroad to find a giant water bill. I called Roto-Rooter at ~noon and a technician arrived at ~1pm. The plumber (John) discovered one of the toilets was flowing continuously and quickly fixed it. This alone would have made me very happy - but in addition, the plumber walked me through the steps to maintain all my water fixtures and appliances (e.g. run ice through the disposal to clear the rust, how to drain my water heater, etc), showed me how to turn off water to individual toilets, water heater and water main to prevent future leak related problems while traveling, informed me of several water conservation programs that will save me a lot of money (e.g. a rebate program to upgrade my toilets, my right to have the price of the leak adjusted off my future bill since I did the repairs, etc). Not only is my toilet fixed, but I'm a much more informed home-owner and in a few months the refund from my water bill will cover the cost of my repairs. I needed a new garbage disposal. I called at 10AM, and a service person was at my home within an hour! They called to let me know when they would be arriving, had the garbage disposal type that I had requested with them, and got the job done! I have a dog who tends to bark continuously whenever repair persons are in my home, and she took to John within moments of him entering the house (which makes for an even better, and quieter, experience)! I have used Roto-Rooter several times and consider them to be utmost in professionalism and customer service! I received a call to let me know the technician was on his way. My showers tend to get clogged often (teenagers with long hair!) and William took the time to explain how to best prevent it in the future. He came up with several suggestions I hadn't thought of previously. He also taught me how the product recommended by a different plumber had been clogging my pipes instead of cleaning them out! He made sure I knew about the online coupon and went above and beyond to take care of all my plumbing problems and questions. We called for an appointment for Rotor Rooter to fix a garbage disposal yesterday. I was given a courtesy call when he was on his way which was great. Once William arrived, he was very professional and pleasant. He was very knowledgeable about fixing the disposal. Although, as we suspected, it had to be replaced. He had a disposal in the truck and was able to do this immediately. He also matched a coupon that I had for another company and also gave me an extra $10 on top of that which totally $50 off the bill. You can access a $40 coupon on their website. But getting $10 more off, was great. This was the second time we used them. The first time was for a baby bottle cap stuck in the disposal for which the technician did not even charge us for coming out. I called Roto-Rooter mainly because I saw they had no extra charge for evening and weekend calls. The dispatcher told me my plumber would be there just bit later; I then received a call to let me know when William Barnes was on his way. I was immediately impressed with William. He was personable and I appreciated his patient and thorough explanation of what the problem was, which was a major surprise: my beloved English ivy--that I had so carefully propagated in various places around my yard for years--had infiltrated an underground pipe! He removed a massive pile of ivy roots, and other roots as well, because a nearby shrub had taken advantage of the situation and joined the ivy in the pipe. The pipe was badly cracked, so William returned the next morning and replaced it. He was careful to point out other plants I may want to move because he would have to dig in the area where they were planted. I moved my dusty miller to a safe place, printed out a generous $40 coupon online, and was relieved and pleased that my problem had been handled so promptly and efficiently. I will definitely call Roto-Rooter if I need a plumber in the future. more
