My new year off to a rocky start when I found my water heater leaking in the crawl space. Called two other plumbers before Roto-Rooter, but I'll never call any other plumbers except Roto-Rooter from now on! They sent a guy right out - on NEW YEAR';S DAY. He replaced the old leaking water heater, gave me great advice on how to keep the new replacement one working for years to come. Very knowledgeable. Expert service. Definitely recommended. more

The water backed up while taking a shower. I called Roto-Rooter right away. They came within the hour as they said they would. He explained what the problem was so I could understand what had happened. Didn't take him long to correct the problem. Mark was very good you could tell he was very experienced. I liked when he left there was no mess left behind for me to clean. You can depend on Roto-Rooter they are always there for you if the job is big or small. more

John 3956, a plumber for Raleigh's Midway West roto-rooter, assisted late in the evening after the gas hotwater heater thermal expansion tank ruptured and drained water into the house. He was the only technician working and the dispatcher could not predict his arrival. But an hour an a half after his ETA he arrived and replaced the tank. He was a bright spot in a wet and stressful evening. more

One of the pipes in my house busted and it was leaking water all over the crawlspace. I called Roto-Rooters and the plumber came and fixed up my place the same day. He was here promptly (well after a 45 minute drive from Raleigh) and everything was fixed within 2 hours. I believe the plumber's name was John. He was very friendly and helpful. Not only did he repair the broken pipe, but he also told me some precautionary tips to prevent major water damages. The charge for the repair was reasonable and I was very glad to have the problem handled in such a quick manner. I would love to work with them again if I were ever to call a plumber again (even though I hope that such opportunity does not arise). more

After walking around and talking to my upstairs neighbor, I determined that the water was indeed coming from my unit. I turned off what I could find, but could still hear something going on and I knew there was going to be a big problem. So, I called Roto-Rooter because they advertised 24/7 and holidays. I mean, it's Christmas day. It couldn't have happened the day before or the day after, but on Christmas. Ugh. The Roto-Rooter Plumber showed up when stated and let me know right away how bad it might be. He was very professional, knowledgeable and skillful. He even recommended I take pictures for insurance purposes. I wouldn't have thought to do that. It was definitely an expensive visit, but if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change anything, except perhaps bake some cookies for us:) more

Originally we had scheduled follow up repair for a broken exterior back water valve which Roto-Rooter had cleaned our for us on Saturday the 18th. We were scheduled for between 12 and 2 PM on Tuesday the 21st. Tuesday, 12/21/2010 around 3 PM: no plumber and no phone call. I called and, after attempting to find out what was going on, wound up rescheduling for the next morning between 8 and 10 AM. Wednesday, 12/22/2010 10:00 AM: No plumber and no phone call. I called once again and as passed off to the exterior digging dispatcher Mike, who I never could get in touch with. After several frustrating phone calls, I was told by the girl that eventually answered the phone that she would look into the situation and get back to me. Meanwhile, John showed up at around 2 o'clock. He was excellent and went about his job very professionally. Upon completion, everything was put back as it was. When he came into the house he removed his work boots so as to not dirty the floor. Never did receive a call back from thr Roto-Rooter dispatcher. So, in summary the service is excellent but be prepared for some problems with their dispatchers. more

We did not have any hot water. I called Roto Rooter upon the recommendation of my mother in law and I am very happy that I did. I called at 9 am and John was there at 11 am. He had things working very quickly, thoroughly explained what had happened and the charge was very reasonable. We will call and ask for John next time we have any plumbing issues. more

The problem? Nothing but scalding water out of a shower. Great for cooking lobsters but nobody wants to go to the ER for burns sustained while bathing, right? Naturally we had holiday houseguests arriving that afternoon and needed the shower to work. My husband opened it up but decided he was in over his head and asked me to call a plumber. I called late Friday afternoon to make an appointment and Roto-Rooter sent William to my house just outside Raleigh. They said he would come between 8 and noon Saturday morning and they called at 5 minutes to 8 to let me know he would be there in 30 minutes. So William had a half-started mess on his hands and couldn't even test it out to verify the problem. This didn't faze him and he got straight to work. He wore booties to keep the floor clean and worked diligently for an hour or more. He found the broken part and had a replacement in his van. Not only that, but he worked quietly so as to not wake my husband who was still sleeping in the next room. By the time he was writing our receipt my husband was up and about and William was kind enough to compliment him on the job (nearly) well done! The problem was fixed, he left the bathroom cleaner than he found it and then provided a coupon for us to defray the cost. Saved by Roto-Rooter just in time for guests! Thanks a million! more

I signed up to have them come by between 11-1. John came close to 1:00. Took his shoes off without being asked and looked at the problem. Gave me the estimate. Went to work. A little pricey, but the work was well done more

Called Roto-Rooter and they did not arrive as fast as I would have wanted - but glad I waited b/c the service was excellent. William was very helpful and knowledgeable. The price seemed right as well. Would definitely recommend. more

We've made many calls to Roto-Rooter and they have completed many jobs for us. I used to do business with their competitor but I found I could get excellent service and get the job done right the first time with Roto-Rooter. The plumbers (most recently, John) are excellent and straightforward. Their operators always answer the telephone with "how can I provide excellent service? And they do, I've learned, when something works, you stick with it. more
