Good communication; very reliable; innovative solutions to problems. 8/25/2010

We are doing a total house remodeling and replaced the HVAC system and the entire water and sewer lines. Gene Johnson Plumbing did all that work. They were good and were very professional with it. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. They were open to my questions. I had to call a couple of times, and they always responded. When I called about shower head choices they called and then emailed me all the different types so that I could make a decision about what to choose. Gene Johnson Plumbing was reliable, efficient, and made sure to maintain a good relationship with the other contractors. The communication was open and good. They are still doing some finishing touches, like tiling the bathroom, but so far everything is going well with no leaks. As far as the quality of work, we have had no problems. The project itself was pretty straight forward. It was a setup remodel so they were able to do it all quickly. The whole thing wasn't too complex. more

It has been my satisfaction having Gene Johnson. 8/23/2010

I was in need of a new toilet and needed a faucet installed. There were leaks in multiple places, and the water bill was up. The technician from Gene Johnson came out and had it all going. We got a new faucet in the kitchen, and the toilet is a low water one. He even worked on the water heater. We couldn't be more happy about the work they did. We are very, very pleased. Gene Johnson is a pleasurable company to have working for you. They are on time for appointments. If they are going to be late for some reason, they give you a call. The people are very personable. We have used them for other things as well. We have always been happy with their work and the way it works. Anybody who calls them will have a good experience like I did. I have been using them for about 20 years. I knew we would get a good job done by asking Gene Johnson to come back. more

The price they quote is always the price I pay. 5/7/2010

I am a repeat customer of Gene Johnson Plumbing. What I like about their service is that when they quote me a price, that is the price I end up paying. They never come back to tell the the job was larger and so they need more money. What they bid is what I pay. There are no surprises. Everything turns out just like I expected and works exactly like they told me it would work. I have had them do two plumbing repairs and they also replaced a furnace. They clean up after themselves and each time the work turns out exactly as I expect. They are expensive, but they are well worth the cost. more

I have had no problems using Gene Johnson Plumbing. I have liked the experience overall. I have known them for a while, and depending on what I need done, I will look to them. They are right there in terms of price. When they say they will be here, they are here. They do everything they promise, and they get the job done. You can't do too much better than that. Nice experience. 5/5/2010

Gene Johnson Plumbing was very nice to work with. They figured out what was wrong and started fixing it the very next day. We had no idea how bad the problem was. Cast iron plumbing builds up sludge really fast and isn't up to code, so we had to replace them. Everything works well now. more

Ask for Woody at Gene Johnsons plumming 4/16/2010

My wife and I bought a fixer upper; we have done everything from a new roof to flooring, plumbing, heating, kitchen, drywall and paint. Over 7 different companies have helped us over two years. When I called Gene Johnsons pluming I knew I had to have them come out and give me a bid for my re-pipe, because of the friendly and knowledgable person on the other end. When Woody the Plummer came out, I knew I would hire them to do the job. The price was not the cheapest, but I felt comfortable with Woody. I knew he would do a good job, treat me fare and not do things I didnâ??t need done. He under promised and way over delivered. After the job was complete he cleaned up everything, like he wasnâ??t even there. Others left my house a complete mess with no regard. He explained everything well and answered all my questions. I am in the service industry myself, and wow what an employee Gene Johnsons pluming has in Woody. I would recommend you call Gene Johnsons pluming and ask for Woody to anyone. Justin Lafranchi more

They did an A-one job. 3/23/2010

I hired Gene Johnson Plumbing to replace all the plumbing lines, including the one that goes to the sewer, and install a new water heater and a new furnace. They were clean, punctual, professional, pleasant, cordial and competent. They were as advertised and they worked without delay. I have to have it right, and Gene Johnson Plumbing did it right. One of their representatives surveyed the work to be done, estimated how long it would take, how much it would cost and he was right. He did not take long to estimate what needed to be done and he was very efficient. The professionals at Gene Johnson Plumbing are very clean and careful. For example, they brought in great big tarps to walk on in the house so there was nothing to clean up afterward. Also, they dug a twenty-five foot trench to the main using several workers because a machine would be too messy. It was a lot of work, but they did it quickly. And when it came time to refill the trench, the displaced dirt was on a tarp, so there was no mess leftover. They did an A-one job. It is a hard job; you have to know what you are doing, and they did. more

Dennis was very enthusiastic, focused on the problem, and responsive. 3/23/2010

Gene Johnson Plumbing was recommended to us but we really decided to use them because Dennis, who came out to give us an estimate, was fantastic. He had lots of ideas about how to solve the problem. We had roots growing in our sewer line and we had an idea of what we needed, but Dennis really thought outside the box. He came up with some other options and was very enthusiastic and focused on the problem. We had gotten other bids but had trouble getting those companies to call us back. Dennis also was very responsive throughout the entire project, even after hours. Everything turned out great. They really worked hard to keep to the schedule even though we had to stop and reassess things during the job. The project kept moving and Gene Johnson worked hard to get it done for us. Overall, we had a good experience with Gene Johnson and would use them again. more

Felt taken advantage of 3/9/2010

I am a retired female and ignorant of plumbing costs. I had a garbage disposal and a new valve in five sinks installed. The process took about 3 hours and the bill was $3,053. The disposal cost was $1,050 and I have since learned that the disposal can retail for about $100. A board member at our condo association was dismayed at the cost and talked to Gene Johnson Plumbing and they refunded $661 towards the valve cost. I emailed the company requesting some relief from the disposal cost and have heard nothing to date. I appreciate everyone must make a profit but the job wasn't brain surgery. RESPONSE FROM Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating: We charge the same prices to all of our customers in order to ensure fair treatment. The board member that she referred to, called to discuss this with us and we refunded $661.00 and he seemed pleased with the result. Since we responded to her board member and immediately mailed Ms. Petersen her refund we are surprised and sorry to hear she is still upset. more

Darrell & Thomas are awesome! 2/17/2010

My plumbing was a nightmare for me! I have used Gene Johnson once before and was not very satisfied however, thought I would give them another shot. Darrell and Thomas came and fixed everything, I really appreciate how professional they were and how clean they left everything when they were finished. My shower is now running perfectly! Every morning that I'm in the shower I can't help but think of those two! I would give them more stars if I could! more

I trusted them, and they did what they said they would do. 2/11/2010

I had used Gene Johnson Plumbing for small repairs in the past, but this most recent project they did for me was a new construction. They built a bathroom and did most of the finish work as well. They were great: very nice guys to work with, very respectful and very clean. When I got other bids for the job, I did not feel that I was getting as much for my money with the other companies as I was with Gene Johnson. They worked with me on the quote and helped me out. Really good service and really good people. 2/4/2010

We had a plumbing emergency and started calling plumbers in the Seattle area. Gene Johnson Plumbing was the only company that could make it out in a reasonable amount of time. The job ended up involving an entire re-piping of the house, and they did really good work. When we had a couple of issues that came up, they responded and resolved them right away. The most important thing about our experience with Gene Johnson was that we felt completely comfortable having them in the house. This was important because we had them in our house every day for 3 weeks during the re-piping. We got to know them all and felt comfortable with them, which made a big difference. more

Did what they said they would in a timely manner. 1/4/2010

We were having issues with our furnace, which was not working properly, and it was really cold. We decided to call Gene Johnson Plumbing because they have been around for a long time and have a good reputation. They got out to us as soon as they could and took care everything. We bought a new furnace from them and, when we noticed that some water was leaking, they came out again as soon as possible and fixed the problem. They even vacuumed up water that had leaked into the garage, working late into the evening to take care of it. Our experience with Gene Johnson was wonderful, 110 percent. They were there when they said they would be and did a good job. We have heat now, which is great! more

Urgent work got done in a timely way but communication was lacking. 12/28/2009

I called Gene Johnson Plumbing to restore heat in a rental property because one of the units was not getting heat. It turned out that both of the furnaces were inoperable and needed to be replaced. While the urgent work got done in a timely way, their communication was lacking. They seemed very attentive to begin with, but did not follow through with me. I did not know whether they had installed the furnaces and they mailed the paperwork to the rental property instead of to me directly. Also, there was some additional work (a clogged sink and water heater) that they said they would work on while they were there but those things did not get taken care of at the time. Frankly we were overwelmed with frozen pipes and flooding calls and got behind on our follow up which we normally pride ourselves on. I would never consider going anywhere else. 9/9/2009

I have used Gene Johnson Plumbing for major and minor plumbing issues and have had a fabulous experience with them. I initially started using them because I knew one of their personnel. They are totally trustworthy, very professional, pleasant, and do a thorough clean-up job afterward. I have been absolutely satisfied with all of the work they have done. There has never been any rework. more

Awesome, efficient, friendly, and helpful. 9/8/2009

We initially started using Gene Johnson Plumbing because they were available to come out and service us before any other company. The others were booked a week out. We have used Gene Johnson 4 or 5 times now and had a 100-percent positive experience with them. They are always on time and very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and thorough. Darryl, the plumber who has come out the last few times, is a really good, trustworthy guy. That is important to us because, when you have people coming into your home, you have to be able to trust them. We have been happy with all of the work that they have done for us and would definitely recommend them. more

Professional, knowledgeable, expensive. 8/28/2009

Gene Johnson Plumbing was available when I had a drain clogging emergency that required a 50-ft. snake. Since they fixed it, everything has been good. The plumber was very professional, friendly and personable. He explained why the issue might have occurred and how to maintain and rectify the problem. I also thought it was very nice that the same plumber called back the following day to make sure that everything was working properly and that there were no issues. The only issue I had with them was the pricing, which was more than what I thought it should be. I understood the emergency-visit charge but there was also "weekend pricing" because it was a weekend visit, so that made it more expensive than I expected. S.C. more
