Quick, Efficient and Trustworthy 1/5/2012

After looking online for a reliable plumber for an emergency sewer problem at my business, I decided to try Gene Johnson after reading some of the reviews and I am so glad I did. From the lovely, efficient woman who handled and scheduled my service call to Thomas our plumber (who was at my business in what seemed like less than 10 minutes) who saved the day, I am extremely satisfied with the work that Thomas provided me with. Thomas was courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and patient as the job took a lot longer than maybe expected. He even came back the next day to reset our toilet free of charge. The estimate he gave me ended up being the estimate I paid for and not a penny more, no hidden charges, no extra fees, etc. All in all excellent customer service, excellent technical service and local to my business, three things that would make me not hesitate in both using and recommending Gene Johnson again. Good service yet very expensive replacement of system 12/27/2011

Every year we have been paying Gene Johnson some $600 + for our radiant heat system - last time being in Feb of 2011. In late fall of 2011 our system went out and we had to replace the whole thing - to the tune of $6,000. We received very good service - I really hope that a replacement was needed - and that we don't have to continue to hvae this service - Very good quality service received - very thoughtful and conducted to meet our scheduling needs. Repairman told us a great deal about our system - I hope to shout we don't have to pay out any more money on this . Thanks... more

I'm very satisfied with the work of Thomas from Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating, 12/19/2011

Is it going too far to say Thomas from Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating saved my life? Perhaps, but carbon monoxide was likely escaping from my very old furnace, and he's the one who recommended I have it inspected. Sure enough, big cracks. No one wants to hear that their furnace has to be condemned, but I feel very fortunate to have the old one out and a new, efficient one humming in the basement. Oh, and he figured out my tankless water heater problem too. Thanks, Thomas. more

A loyal customer for over 20 years! 12/14/2011

I have been a loyal customer of Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating for over 20 years. I would say my experiences in all of the cases with them have been very, very positive. Gene himself came out to do something for me, and he was very friendly. They have always been very helpful and tell you exactly what they're doing. They are willing to share information with you, the customer. They have never been condescending and are very accommodating to me. Of course, everybody will have their own experience with them, but mine has always been really good and I guess that's why I'm loyal. Family-owned business so they stand behind their work! 12/5/2011

Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating was the only one I called so I didn't have any one else to compare their value to. My water heater went out and Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating came right out. They said it would take an hour and a half but they came within forty minutes! I would recommend Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating! They're very clean and do a good job. They seem to know their business and fix things right. They're also a family-owned business so they stand behind their work! more

Good job 12/5/2011

I was most impressed with everyone I dealt with,Kristen was friendly and most helpful in answering all my questions when we were just looking into this and then getting our pre-approval for the rebate. From the first time I met with Dennis to give us a bid to the last time when he went over the instruction manual,to answering more of my questions he was great. They lined up the electrician who came to give me his bid and did the job along side the guys who installed the heat pump. All were friendly and respectful of our home and garden area.They were on time and finished the job in the time frame they stated when giving me the bid. I would most definately reccomend them to anyone looking to install a heat pump! more

My Go-To Plumbers 11/12/2011

Gene Johnson has helped me out of 2 tight jams. First they replaced my broken water heater on New Year's Eve. Then they replaced my heating system when I found out my pipes had been recalled. They even helped me with the paperwork for the lawsuit on the bad pipes. Great people and a great company! more

Darrell and Kyle are knowledgeable and ethical professionals as well as outstanding human beings. They are fully invested in what they do and they are excellent at it. I had a sewer lift pump that was not working as it should. They diagnosed the problem and explained to me every detail of the structure, how it worked and what should be done to fix it. They took it apart, cleaned it, repaired it and got it working like new. They observed a leaking pipe and fixed it, and checked my kitchen to make sure everything was working properly. They were professional and courteous. The price was reasonable and their service and the results was worth it. As human beings Darrell and Kyle are priceless. I am very happy Gene Johnson sent them, and I think Gene Johnson is very fortunate to have in their company such stellar individuals as Darrel and Kyle. Thank you Darrell and Kyle for everything. Darrell Rhyner and Kyle came out to help me yesterday. They immediately diagnosed both issues and provided me with a cost estimate upfront so that there would not be any surprises. Great company to work with! 10/18/2011

I reached out to Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating because they had merged with the previous company who had installed my furnace originally. So I didn't really shop around to compare prices with other companies, but they seem reasonable. They were very nice, and returned my call right away. They were able to schedule someone to come out quickly to diagnose the issue. My furnace was broken, so they gave me two quotes, one for fixing it and the other for a new furnace. I appreciated the different quotes. I ended up buying a new furnace and they gave me a discount on the service agreement, everything was very affordable. The contract offers me piece of mind that the furnace will continue to work for me. They came out and were in and out in one day. They set up my thermostat, which saved me some time. They even put some doors back on for me where the furnace is, which was very nice. Everything they did was wonderful. Everybody I came in contact with was very polite, courteous and professional. more

Very helpful, but I needed to do my research about prices first. 8/3/2011

Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating was very helpful with the service they provided, but because of the price I will be very unlikely to recommend them for what we needed done. I was alone when I needed them, and they came out and took care of what needed to be done, which was wonderful, but when my husband saw the bill he was angry that they had charge $1700 to replace a 12 inch corner pipe. They charge $500 for each job, so when they first came out to clear the drain, it was $500, then when I needed them to come back out because the problem wasn't solved, it cost another $1100 or so to repair the drain. My husband called them and they took off $500 charge for the initial visit. I guess I just need to do more research first next time. more

Fast and professional! 7/20/2011

We were really happy with Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating. When we contacted them, it wasn't exactly an emergency, our water heater was on its last legs. They came in, replaced the old with a new water heater and disposed of the old one. While they were here, they noticed a crack in our sewer line, so they went ahead and repaired that too. Everything was done in the afternoon. They are fast and very professional and I'd definitely use them again! more

The guy from Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating was very nice. He answered any questions that I had. He was talkative and that made a big difference. Our tub drain had old piping and was backed up with a lot of hair. This was the first time I used Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating. I used them because they were right down the street from us. Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating replaced our kitchen faucet and fixed a broken pipe. They were really nice and did great work! They even checked to make sure there weren't any more problems caused by the leak. I couldn't believe there was nothing I needed to clean up after they left! We were very happy with the work they did, even though it was costly. However, it was something we needed to have done and we certainly couldn't do it ourselves since it was such a complicated job. The pricing is easy to understand, it's on a scale so you know the ballpark of what jobs will cost and there are no add-ons so no surprises. We were very happy with the work they did and would definitely use them again. more

Displeased. 5/23/2011

Though a longtime customer, I will no longer use Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating, short of an emergency. I have known Mr. Johnson for 42 years, and I recently had my first problem with them. I brought them out to repair a leaky faucet in my older home. They used too big of a wrench and squeezed it such that they were unable to get the top off, which ruined the faucet. They then tried to replace it with a new one that didn't fit. When I called to complain, I stated my concerns and told them I wanted the faucet replaced correctly, at no expense. They agreed to the replacement, didn't agree with the cost issue. They came back out and installed a chrome monster that looked like the skull of a cat. They would't even tell me the make of the new faucet, in case I need it worked on in the future. The bill I received in the end was exorbitant for the low quality work I received. This may have been a one-time shoe, but I'm really displeased with their service. more
