Pleasant but disappointed with the charge 3/25/2014

I had a preferred customer subscription with Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating when I had them repair a leak in the main sewer stack. They accomplished it in a very short period of time but I thought the charge was excessive for the materials and time. I feel like I was charged double considering I had a the subscription. more

Top notch 3/14/2014

I called Gene Johnson Plumbing to help me with a leak detection issue. They were able to come in the same day that I called. The plumber who arrived was prompt, professional, and competent. He detected the leak and repaired the broken water line within just a few hours. He left no mess whatsoever and I was impressed with his workmanship. He was also very personable. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable. I'd recommend them highly. more

Very happy 3/11/2014

Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating has fixed toilets and snaked drains. They call and let you know when they're coming and when they're gonna be there. They're upfront about everything, including, how much it's gonna be. more

Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating Inc. came and routed out the line to the sewer. They came in and got the job done. They were polite, and they did a good job. I would recommend them. more

Woody and Adam arrived before originally scheduled, dealt with the problem quickly and wrapped up their work in a very satisfactory way, having fixed the blockage in our kitchen sink pipes. more

No issues at all 2/21/2014

I was very happy to hire Gene Johnson Plumbing. We had a plumbing issue in our home that we discovered was going to cost much more than we initially thought and Gene Johnson offered to match the lowest quote that we received. I thought that was very nice and accommodating of them. I liked the mode of operation that they took and I thought their approach to customer service was very professional. They replaced a main sewage and storm drain in our alley way. It was quite a big job, considering that they had to rip out our entire 30 feet of storm drainage piping to replace it. Our site worker, Carlos, was very professional. He was always on time and answered all of my questions adequately. I would recommend them highly. more

Very satisfied with GJ service 2/7/2014

GJ overall did a great job, and I'll be happy to call them again. Woody did a very professional job and was very friendly. It's hard to review price, since I have nothing to really compare to, but it seemed reasonable. I definitely recommend GJ plumbing. Thanks! more

They did a fine job! 2/6/2014

I would recommend Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating Inc. They installed a new gas furnace for me. The price wasn't terrible, but it wasn't cheap. But they did good work. They were clean, nice and professional. The furnace still runs, so I'm happy! more

Professional and affordable 1/30/2014

Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating Inc. is a really easy company to work with. I found the customer service from their call center to be excellent. They are very responsive. They are always able to send someone out to take care of an issue within twenty-four hours. We have used Gene Johnson to replace our furnace and also to fix various plumbing issues we've had. There was one person that we were working with consistently for a specific issue. He did a good job, but really, everyone we have dealt with has provided high quality work. The technicians are all competent and able to do work at an affordable price. They will also make suggestions of further work that can be done without being pushy about them. This is a professional and affordable plumbing and heating company. I enjoy working with them. more

Happy with service but issues with product. 1/28/2014

We have been using Gene Johnson Plumbing for the last 5 years. I am happy with the service but we have had some issues with the product. We have had 4 major breakdowns with our heating system. It seems like it is something different every year. We had a heat pump put in but eventually had to replace the entire unit. The first guy that came out years ago was not property trained. We had to have somebody come out to fix his work. We have probably spent over ten thousand dollars in the last 5 years. The system is working now. I continue to use them because they are really the only people in town that work with radiant heating systems. more

Great customer service but prices are way off the charts. 1/23/2014

Our experience with Gene Johnson Plumbing and Heating Inc.'s service has been great. We like that they are a family business. However, we would not recommend them to others. When we needed a new water heater, they quoted us at $1,575 plus tax. We found the same water heater at a different company for only $900 plus tax. That's a big negative in our opinion. It made us wonder if they were overpricing us for other services we had done by them. We were very disappointed by this huge price difference because we really liked Gene Johnson. We would tell anyone considering using Gene Johnson that the service is great, but they should do a cost comparison before hiring them. We don't know if other companies will provide the same kind of quality customer service, but the prices were way off the charts for us. We are sorry not to be able to support them. more

Good job. Bad price. 1/16/2014

They always have this playbook where they and the other plumbers in town have joint pricing and charge the same prices. Can't get a deal. It cost $400 to remove a blockage in the shower drain with MY tools and it only took them 20 minutes to do. I also had the sewage line replaced and it backed up in 3 weeks. I had to argue with them in order to get them to come back out and fix it. The plumbers themselves are great. They do a fine job, but I'll find someone else. more

I pay a monthly subscription fee and get a discount from them which is cool, but if you don't use them too often then there may not be any point in engaging in that. The last time I used them was about a year ago and they were on time, prompt, fair. The crew was very nice and they executed the job very nicely. Two thumbs up! more

Very reliable service 1/3/2014

We're very pleased with Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating. We've been using them for close to 10 years now and have no complaints whatsoever. They're very responsive and always arrive promptly. They never try to sell us extra services that we don't need and we really appreciate that. They're straightforward and don't dawdle on the job. We pay a little bit a month to be on their service provider list so that we can receive a free furnace checkup every year. We're glad to have them service our house when it can be a tough job since it's very old. Woody is very cordial, skilled, and never leaves a mess. I've recommended them to many of my friends. more

Excellent service done right! 12/16/2013

Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating completely redid the plumbing in our entire house. It was our first time using them, and it turned out perfectly! I would say they get the job done, and they do it right! They came when they said they were going to come. They were very patient about answering our questions about how the work was going to be done. They were really, really nice people. more

They're honest, hardworking, punctual and have good value 12/9/2013

We've been a customer of Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating for the last year. They did work outside where they dug down to our exterior sewer pipe that had a break. They replaced it and also performed a service to get the branches away and out of the pipe. They had come out a couple of times before for similar sewer line problems. We've continued to use them because we like the workmen. I think they're transparent about their pricing. They are prompt, and they always come on time. I never felt like they were trying to add additional work on to increase their payment, like I have with other companies. It may not be the cheapest service you can find, but they do good work and you get the peace of mind that you're getting a good service. more

He appears to be a very competent technician, has wonderful interpersonal skills, is patient about explaining what he was doing, made some recommendations for improvements in our heating system which I accepted, immediately implemented the improvements which involved leaving to get some parts and coming back, informed me about water heater options since my current heater is 10 years old, charged and explained a fair price for the service and to sum up, in general, he is a great ambassador for Gene Johnson Heating and Plumbing. Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating have always had a rapid response. They have been professional on every service call and they listen to what I want. They've even made applicable recommendations when I didn't know what I was talking about. They're just nice guys and they're clean and honest. I've been using their service for three years now. They do good work. more
