Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating

I've been calling Gene Johnson Plumbing to my house for maybe 3 or 4 years and they've unclogged drains for me and replaced toilets and sinks--that sort of thing. The technician they send out is always very friendly, doesn't dirty up my house, and does a very good job. Always recommend them and tell them how much I appreciate the job they do for me. more

Gene Johnson has done a number of things for me. They've always been very responsive and the last time someone came out, they fixed the problem at no cost because it was still under warranty and I appreciated that. They provide good service at good value. more

Adam was a true journeyman. After thirty years in the shipyard I recognize craft and accomplishment. Each night water was restored and opening of walls was kept to a minimum. Old guys on fixed income don't like letting loose this kind of money but knowing it was well spent makes it much more tolerable. I can only recommend Gene Johnson,and especially Woody. They took time to explain options to me, replumbed my whole house, including sleeving the sewer to the street , replaced water heater and furnace. I don't know, if they are more expensive than others,since I never bothered to get quotes. I know, that Gene Johnson will stand behind their work and I can trust them. They are prompt, clean and work until the work is done, even if it takes to 8pm on a Friday night. more

My husband and I had dripping faucets that turned out to mean that the original 1926 cast iron pipes had given up, and needed to be replaced. We are clueless about the ways that houses work, and Adam explained in detail what he needed to do, how he would do it, and what it would cost. He took the time he needed to really understand our quirky, full of junk house, and then replaced the old pipes quickly and efficiently. He was kind, extremely knowledgeable and generous in acknowledging the work of his colleagues. Thank you very much, Adam! more

We couldn't be more pleased with the result of Adam's work. What impressed me most was the fact that Adam actually simplified the inside plumbing for our 1926 house. .One result: hot water from our tankless water heater is now delivered in about 10 seconds rather than the circa 60+ seconds. Of course all spigots now flow better. Adam (and his colleagues) were most pleasant fellows. Sorry that our computer (2 e-mail crashes) doesn't work as well as Adam. Sorry for the delay in getting this review sent on time. more

Carlos recently replaced all of the water pipes in our house and the pipe from our house to the city hook-up. Each day the team arrived on time and worked very hard. We have complicated landscaping in the front yard and they dug the trench around all of the plants!! All dirt, bark and lawn was replaced beautifully after the work was done. Carlos does a great job of communicating what steps are next and how long they will take. He made notes of little things discovered along the way and kept me informed of any changes. Every experience I've had with Gene Johnson has been great. You can't go wrong with this company. more

I appreciate that they are available on weekends. When I called they were upfront that there would be a $50 or so estimate or service fee to come out and look at my clogged toilet that was installed five years ago. It ended up fixing itself when they flushed it. Unfortunately, Adam wasn't as upfront above notifying me of the estimate before looking at the toilet or fixing the clogged sink. I would have appreciated that. They put on booties over their shoes before coming in. Adam tested the toilet by putting toilet paper in it and flushing several times. He explained why they were doing it (if there is anything stuck, the paper will come back but when you use a plunger, the water will just flow past). He gets five stars for that. Later I had them look at a clogged sink which they did and fixed. Then, when it came time for the bill, I was expecting a hundred dollars or so for twenty minutes of their time. I charge my clients $120 an hour with a one hour minimum. Instead, the final bill before taxes came to $275.36. After I complained to Dennis, the customer service supervisor, he reduced it to the price I thought was fair which was $100 plus tax. I appreciate that. I don't know if having an assistant was part of that price but if it was, why should I pay for someone's education? And on the company portion of the carbon-copied invoice was a notice that you could get an instant discount for writing an online review. Go hire someone who charges reasonable prices and doesn't "buy" their online (including this service?) reviews? They also attempted to get this review withdrawn from Customer Lobby? I wonder why? more

I had several plumbing things fixed by Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating. Some piping was replaced because it was too old. The first person who gave the estimate was just wonderful. The two people who came out worked together very well. more
