I am a retired female and ignorant of plumbing costs. I had a garbage disposal and a new valve in five sinks installed. The process took about 3 hours and the bill was $3,053. The disposal cost was $1,050 and I have since learned that the disposal can retail for about $100. A board member at our condo association was dismayed at the cost and talked to Gene Johnson Plumbing and they refunded $661 towards the valve cost. I emailed the company requesting some relief from the disposal cost and have heard nothing to date. I appreciate everyone must make a profit but the job wasn't brain surgery.

We charge the same prices to all of our customers in order to ensure fair treatment. The board member that she referred to, called to discuss this with us and we refunded $661.00 and he seemed pleased with the result. Since we responded to her board member and immediately mailed Ms. Petersen her refund we are surprised and sorry to hear she is still upset.
