IF YOU ARE A CUSTOMER OF AMERICAN ACCESS COMPANY GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN, CANCEL. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT PAY CLAIMS TO ANYONE! I had a similar situation happen to me with this company. They were not returning phone calls or communicating with me at all. I contacted the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulation via email, filed a complaint and they called back alright. Go to this website especially if it has been months with no resolution. Go to your states department of insurance, you can google it and report a claim online. Type in: nevada department of insurance, illinois department of insurance, arizona department of insurance etc. Pros: Cheap, you'll see why Cons: No one EVER answers the phone more

I backed my truck into my other car. rear light, tailgate and scratched it down the side. I filed jan 18th 09. just put the car in the shop today. march 4th 09. Hope it will be out by monday. Kalib, and mike.. from another planet. can you say "" no customer service skills at all' hang ups, no call backs, oh, I mailed to you and my dog ate my homework.. 43 days is what it might take to see my truck again. I hope!! If i would have done alittle more research, and not bit on the ''cheap rate"" I would have walked away. I am droping them asap and want to help someone else with there problem. Horrible 2/26/2009

Car was rear ended New Years Eve and then vandialized two weeks later. Everyday for weeks I called and was put on hold for hours at a time. When the phone was picked up, I was put back on hold or either hung up on. I finally get a answer and do what they ask of me. I was informed by my adjuster, I could take my car where ever I wanted to have it fixed. They bidded the repairs low, are trying to make me take my vehicle to their shop and now refuse to pay what they quoted me. I hope the ohter insurance company will pay for the collision and fight AAC for their money. I will contiue to fight for the vandialism. I wish I would have read these reviews before I signed with them. Cons: This agency needs to be put out of business!!!!! more

Just terrible 2/12/2009

After reading these reviews, I got a little confused. I thought that I had posted a review myself. What everyone has said here is exactly what I am going through with this blasted company right now. From the type of accident I was involved in, to what horrendous things their claims agent tells you about their client's ""story"", how the accident is somehow partly my fault now too (even though it clearly was not and I have a police report to prove it) and how they are only offering to pay me 50% of their ridiculously low estimate which was less than half of the estimate that I got on my own prior to seeing their adjuster. And now, of course, I cannot even get a hold of their claims agent to discuss this some more. Unbelievable! I will not back down from this. I just want them to do what insurance companies are supposed to do and pay for all of the expenses that resulted from this accident. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Total Surprise 2/11/2009

Pick up my car on Feb 26th I must say that I am surprised. I took my car to one of their body shop(Forrest Autobody in Elgin,IL) Even though they quoted lower price they actually did good work. All the replacement body parts were aftermarket (which I figured) they kept in touch with me throughout the process. Body shop was very nice, they received the check from american access 1 week before my car was ready. Maybe my situation was different because I did not collide with another car. I could tell that there will be problems just how i had to fax things over and no return calls back until i left about 6 messages. I am going to pay the extra $30 a month and switch back to Allstate before it's to late Pros: Low rates, good autobody shop Cons: Service more

Worst Compnay EVER!!!!! 12/11/2008

Recently, my fiancee was involved in a car accident on 10/6/2008. His driver side was smashed by a customer of American Access. After 2 weeks of the adjustor telling us they could not contact the driver and they were going to have to deny the claim. So I took the liberty of contacting the customer and asking her to please call in and tell her side. She did and claims now that her car was stolen. So after I did all the work for the company including tracking down the police report, the client, and all the information, they decided the their client's story was good enough and that they would only offer us half of the claim which is completely unacceptable. This company is awful, I cannot believe that Illinois would be willing to give them a license to practice insurance policies. I am planning to file a complaint with the Department of Insurance and I hope to have this resolved very soon. Pros: absolutly none Cons: Horrible Horrible Horrible more

Complete Cons 10/10/2008

I was rear ended by one of their drivers in las vegas. This was in Feb. 2008, after three weeks of B.S. from them my insurance took my vehicle to their shop and fixed it. They kept telling you that they are investigating the accident, even though i sent them a police report in which their driver is cited for illegal lane change and leaving the scene of an accident. I just purchased insurance with this company about a month ago, i had dealt with them in the past, but i never had and accident. When i had my accident everything seem to be ok, the problem im having is the process they are sure taking long as hell with my car, 2 to 3 buisness days for the adjuster to come out another week for the police report and then another week for them to okay, this did hurt me finically, becaue i had to get a rental and pay for it myself, but i still dont have my car. I will be cancelling them and i would not recommend anyone to them. Also, do not go through this company called Crowel Agency, they are the ones that link you to them, there located in highland, In and Merrillville and Michigan City. I would not trust them as well. American Access Casualty Company CONS AND LIARS! 8/27/2008

Sleazy insurance company. Do not trust them. If you have an accident caused by a driver insured by American Access Casualty Company speak to an attorney immediately! They will not work reasonably with you, just delay to try and damage your case. If injured, go to emergency room or see a doctor sooner then later, if not it could damage your medical claim. Document everything. This company will play games and mess with you causing you mental anguish and possibly make you go bankrupt if you get stuck with bills. They will lie about everything. I have first hand experience as a third party claimant as a result of being rear-ended by their driver. No Drivers License, No worry this company will insure 8/26/2008

I thought is was a criminal offense to insure people without valid drivers license? From the other complaints I have read this is just one of the many things that this company does that is underhand and disgusting. I was sideswiped by a driver that has not had a valid license since 2005, but this company has insured him, plus THEY have decided to pay only $200.00 of a $1000.00 clam because its now both of our faults, which is not true. I will not let this person get by with this, and plan on taking him to small clains court, but first will make sure he is arrested next time he drives a car. (helps to know the men in blue) I have also filed a complaint on the website given on a another complaint, wrote letters and emails to Senator Durbin, and have contacted several local TV/reporters to do an investigation into this company and see what can be done to shut them down. Just remember, you might not have the money to get repaid from American Access, but that doesn't mean you can write or email and complain, not just once, but every month and until something is done to rid this state of them Pros: Non Cons: Run don't walk away from this company more

We have the same claims adjuster, Norma Herrera, and she needs to be knocked off her pedistal. We were rear ended by a drunk and they only offered us about 60% of what should have been owed. It's been two and a half months and we have yet to see anything. Cons: INCOMPETENT more

The below post was from 8/12. Here is an upadate 9/11. Illinois Department of Insurance said that they can not do anything because I have accepted the deposit. Senator Durbin can not do anything but referred us to Illinois Deparment of Insurance. BetterBB is still investigating but they said to write to Illinois Deparment of Insurance. Unfortunately they can not due anything. They said to take it to court and try to get the rest of the money directly from the person that caused the accident. THIS IS NOT THE POINT. I dont care about $400, what I really want is this place shut down. This is not how you do business. Is there any other way we can get to them. I like the idea of contacting some media reporters and do a 20/20 on insurance scamming people. I will be more than happy to shut them down. How da heck Goverment lets them stay in business? I will contact Chicago Tribune and Suntimes. Someone will pick up the story. Cons: TOOO MANY more

Pray that you never have to deal with this company 8/4/2008

I filed a claim for minor damage to my vehicle on 7/19/08. To date, 8/4/08, my vehicle is still sitting at the repair shop waiting for this company to get off thier behinds and approve an estimate for my vehilce to be fixed. I have a very hard time reaching anybody to get answers as to why this claim has not been approved. I am promised calls back and never receive any. Also on previous calls, crucial people to approve this claim seem to always be out of the office.Meanwhile, I am continuing to take the bus to work and walk 1/2 mile to the bus stop in 108 degree Las Vegas heat while my claim sits on somebodys desk waiting to be approved. Its not bad enought that I am going through this, but when I signed up for insurance, the agent never added on rental and towing insurance even though we were told that we had it. All we could be told was...Sorry. I have cancelled this insurance and have now gone with a reputable company that has proven customer and claims service. I am paying a bit more, but you get what you pay for. I have also filed a complaint with the Insurance Commission in hopes that they can get this company to do their job and at the least, call their customers back to let them know what is going on. Pros: None whatsoever Cons: Claims and Customer service....everything about this company more

This company is very strict on their payouts which is a smart thing, and probably why so many people keep throwing fits. THEY WILL NOT PAY A CLAIM if you lied on your application, for example:IF THE INSURED SAID HE WAS MARRIED TO GET THE MARRIED RATE AND NEVER PROVIDED PROOF THEY WILL NOT PAY, IF WHOEVER WAS DRIVING THE CAR IS NOT ON THE POLICY THEY WILLLL NOTTTT PAYYYY!!! Most companies for whatever reason tend to not look into these things and their loss ratio is out of the world. IF you were an insurance company that had to pay out claims you would make sure everything that was on the application was absolutely true. They are only as shady as the person that bought there insurance AND it makes sense! Pros: very economic... Cons: customer service does need some help more

Not taking chances 4/9/2008

I just bought a car in February and since in Las Vegas the insurance rate are so high, I went to the cheapest quote I find which is this one. After reading the reviews in this webpage(majority are negative reviews) I was convinced not to take chances especially when I have two little kids with me most of the time. The only thing I received from this insurance company is the monthly bill and a facsimile proof of insurance. I did not received any breakdown on what my coverage are except from an agent that told me I have full coverage. Sounds effy type of company to be involved in and I'd rather spent more as long as I am taking care of when I become involved in an accident(knock on wood).
