Overall, the move went well. We recently used All State for a cross country move that also included a period where our goods would be in storage. Once the scheduling was determined their carrier arrived on time and workers were courteous, professional and efficient. ASVLR stayed in regular contact and, when a question arose about payment due at delivery they jumped right in with the carrier and straightened things out showing the carrier we didn't owe them but, in fact, they owed us a meaningful refund. If there is any cautionary lesson from our experience in using an online service it would be that it is very easy for the customer to underestimate the amount of "stuff" that actually needs to be packed and loaded. Be conservative, and, if you overpay the deposits you will get you money back. Job #1107300-06 more

I hired All State Van Lines to move my property after verbal assurances that they would do so no later than July 27. They did not show up that day, and then began telling me that dates were only estimates and they had never promised me anything. They had hired Relo Van Lines, who had then subcontracted the work out to Interstate Express Movers to actually move my things, and they finally arrived on August 1. Delivery was to be no later than August 7, but they began demanding additional money, starting with $1900 extra and eventually accepted at $524.38 more than the contracted rate so that I could actually get my belongings back. Delivery was 2 weeks late and went past midnight. The movers attempted to get me to agree to them not moving certain heavy belongings to the room I requested – or in some cases not moving them at all except into the garage. It also wasn't until the next day that I found a shattered LCD screen on my TV, as well as several other belongings, totaling ~$1200 total. I was told that due to not taking the insurance, they would pay me $60 for my TV. I declined the insurance as I learned it would exclude anything that I packed myself, something that ASVL had never told me. I received settlement paperwork from ASVL on Aug 26. This offer, despite the assurances over the phone, suggested that I would be settling my dispute with all 3 companies for $150. It also stipulated that I must sign a non-disclosure agreement, which had never been discussed. I opted to not sign. Over the course of the process, I was regularly put off, hung up on, and lied to more times than I can count. I have since settled with Interstate Express Moving, but not with ASVL, who has continued to lie about actions they are taking in regards to my case to both the BBB and myself. They maintain that despite the fact that I hired them and not any of these other companies, they have no responsibility whatsoever for the actions of the companies they hired to move me. more

I hired All State Van Lines to pack and move my entire home. The actual moved did not smooth. The moving company that All State hired showed up 2.5 days late and showed up with a small truck. I had been calling my acct manager asking where are the movers? My estimate of pounds for my moved was 13,650.. The truck (fully packed) only held 9,300 pounds. Why did they show up with a small truck? The the 3rd party movers rented a U-Haul truck for the remaining items. Turned out they could not use the U-Haul and had to put all of that load into storage. The movers told me that All State knew this and they were to have called me.. The communication with All State was horrible. Using your company was a big mistake. I should have never had to deal directly with the 3rd party supervisor, That is the job of the acct manager. I hired your company to pack my entire house and move me. I had back surgery and can't lift. I ended up, with the help of my husband having to pack 17 boxes ourselves. We were running out of time and if we didn't do this it would not have gotten done. The movers were still loading items while we were at the title company closing on our house. This company needs to take a long look at all the negative comments and see how you can improve the company. Why don't you want to be known for the BEST moving company in the US, or at least be in the top 10 in the US?? How many more complaints will it take before things are changed? I should have done more research and selected a different moving company. Is this a wake up call for your company? It should be...... I may be one person but believe me, I will tell everyone I come into contact with and tell them Not to choose All State Van Lines. more

First off I blame myself! I knew better than using a broker and I snag to warn you. Any broker is not the way you should move. A broker has NO control over the timing or care taken with your belongings and even though I knew it I got lazy, spent almost $6000 for poor service, lousy communications and petty much overall shoddy, unprofessional service. Pickup was 3 days later than the target, the movers were hired "OFF THE STREET" , dropped our new dryer on our brick entry denting it and then at the crew, again, " HIRED OFF THE STREEt" damaged our furniture during the off load. So, please don't use a broker and definitely don't let the moving coordinators with Alllstste Vainlines Relocation convince you to get ripped off. more

The movers on each end were very nice and thorough. They loaded quickly and efficiently. The only problems were a couple of broken glasses, a broken golf club, a broken leg on a table, a gouge out of or dresser, and a missing kettle bell. The insurance I hope takes care of this. They had our stuff at our new place in about two weeks. more

My moving nightmare started as soon as I hired them to handle my moving needs. I paid them $2300 to do nothing but lied to me once, twice and many times. They lied to me saying they are not a broker and they will handle my moving process end to end. They lied to me saying they will match competitors' quote but failed to so. They lied to me saying my furniture is in a storage facility 50 miles away from the destination but indeed it was 1500 miles away in Vegas. They lied to me saying there was no status on delivery date but actually my furniture is on its way to my new home. They hired two different moving companies to handle the moving. They delay the delivery date so they can charge me more than $1000 storage charges. They lied to me because they don't even want to pick up the phone to find out the exact delivery status. They wanted to pay me $150 to keep my mouth shot but I refused the offer. I want to let everyone know to avoid being rip off by this company. more

job 1108 8010 06 moved from ohio to north carolina. The team was in contact daily and they showed up on time on oth ends. Estimate was rigt on the mark. Nothing broken or lost. Movers efficient and went beyond their duties to help us. Would recommend highly. more

The quote provided over the phone doubled once the movers had loaded the truck and were ready to leave. I worked for three weeks to speak to someone about price, but because I'm debating the costs, they haven't even moved the furniture from Chicago yet and we need it in Houston. This is a bait and switch, and what they are doing to my family is criminal! more

Avoid moving BROKERS!! These people do not do in house estimates. They will give you an estimate, then on moving day you will be advised you owe more! My move from CA to FL cost an additional $1,200 and they tried to blame me! READ YOUR CONTRACT before you sign. Have an attorney review it. Better still, call Mayflower or Allied Van Lines directly. You'll thank me for it! Run the other way from moving brokers!! more

Everything was great until it got closer to my pick up date, I received a phone call on a Friday, prior to my pickup date which was suppose to be on a Monday, I took off from work and waited, nobody showed up. When I called to find out what was going on, I was informed that I wasn't on the schedule for pickup. I was very upset because I missed a day of work. On the day of pick up, the movers didn't speak good English, they could barely lift my furniture and boxes. I asked the mover/driver how will I know what my weight is after they load, he said he will call me, I never received a call. 2 days after my pick up I received a call stating my bill is higher, a couple days after that I received another phone call stating my bill is even higher, and my drop off has been changed. So my pick up was 2 days late, my drop off was a day late, my bill kept getting increased, and I argued with several people on the phone, some hung up on me, they act like they don't care!! The mover/driver told me that my deposit was only to talk to the people on the phone for 20 mins, to make the arrangements , but its not his bill. I feel that I have been ripped off and scammed. I will NEVER use this service again!! The worse experience I have ever dealt!!! more

My moving experience with All State vlr was a very successful. The mover were sensitive about my situation, because I needed them to go another address other than mine to retrieve more furnishings. Customer service was polite, especially my moving advisor, Lisa. If you need to move long distance, I recommend All State Van Line Relo. Inc!? more

All State Van Lines defaulted on our contract. After more than 20 phone calls, the contract was requested to be cancelled. The cancellation also required multiple phone calls even after assurance was repeatedly given that it was to be cancelled. Phoning directly most often resulted in a response by machine and not followed by a live person. When requests were made to speak with a supervisor, they were denied. I have never seen a business with such poor customer service. more

Re: Job#: 11040355-06-A My recent experience with Allstate Van Lines was great! We had a last minute small move from Memphis, TN to Los Angeles,CA and very few options that could fit our pickup window. Also they kept their quote while we shopped around. ASVL required for 50% down to them directly. We received 24 hour notice of the pickup. The carrier required 50% of the balance upon pickup. The pickup was easy. The carrier disassembled all the furniture at another location, added mattress covers (at an additional charge), furniture pads, and shrink-wrapped every component to prevent any scratches. ASVL contacted us frequently to let us know the status of our shipment. They also called us 24 hours before delivery. We had a long carry charge added because it was over 75 feet from truck to destination. Balance payment was due upon arrival of the truck.The furniture arrived undamaged and the driver re-assembled all the furniture. This was our first time using a moving company and ASVL made it stress free. I would definitely use them again. more

Here is the scam: Sell you with several smooth lies. Commit to a pickup date. Don't show up for days later than the agreed pickup date. After you are past the 5 day window to get your 50% deposit returned you have two alternatives: 1. Eat the thousands you paid in deposit (this is best option) OR 2. Risk letting them hire ex-cons to throw your belongings into truck, haul that for days along with other poor fools whose belongings were thrown in with yours, wait for days or weeks while the truck traverses the country to get the truck to your new location, get a demand for thousands higher than the original contract PAID IN CASH, no checks or credit cards because you could cancel or dispute. If you don't pay in cash they take your belongings away and place in storage. When you get them back much of your belongings will be destroyed intentionally. There is no regulation of these crooks. BEWARE! Take option 1 if you haven’t already lost everything to these crooks. more

We moved across country. From beginning to end All State was professional, courteous, prompt and very thorough. The biggest plus was my furniture remained in one truck from beginning to end. Many other carriers transfer one or more times. so less risk. I would highly recommend All State Van Lines. more

#: 10648690 - 06 - A These people did a great job helping my parents move from Kansas to New Jersey. They had 2 people working on the job the entire way. They arrived one day past the expected time of delivery, but that was because of other pickups on the way. They helped disassemble items in Kansas and they reassembled them in a timely manner at New Jersey. To make things easier, you should know how many items you have for loading up. I was learning from these previous reviews that people were disappointed, but it was because people had more items than what they had listed which caused delays. I read someone waited 20 days for their stuff but it was because they said they had 40 or so items listed, but they actually had close to 90. Can't really complain about them in regards to my personal experience with them. Paid close to $2,300 for the service from them. more

I hired All State Van Lines to move me from Iowa to Florida. I was told when I signed the contract that the cost was worst case scenario and that they were over estimating so I would not owe more. I did! Twice as much as quoted in fact. I was told that if they could book an additional load on the same truck, which was highly likely, my cost would be even less. The load took a full week to make a two day trip to FL. Thet insinuated that they had made other stops once they arrived. They called as they were entering town to let me know that "oops" they had miscalculated and that I needed to have additional payment, twice as much as quoted, upon their arrival before they would be able to unload my possessions. When I called the main office they told me there was nothing I could do but to have the load weighed and have a copy of the ticket. I still had to have the money to pay the drivers when they arrived in order to get my items. I paid them because what choice did I have. When they unloaded the truck they managed to hide anything that was broken or damaged as to not have to explain the issue. For instance, a board was completely broken off the headboard to the bed but they managed to prop it up so I wouldn't notice it was completely torn off. This was the WORST decision I have ever made and if you are considering using this company, I can't express enough what a nightmare it was for me. I hope no one has to go through the stress that I did in this situation. Moving is stressful enough without feeling like you've been robbed! more

This was my first big move (from Alabama to California) and I was terrified with how to get there. While looking around and getting quotes All State Van Lines were one of the first to contact me back and answer all my questions. I had a wonderful experience with this company from the planning all the way to delivery. My only downside about them was I wish I could have one person handling my account instead of a different person for each stage.
