I recently had the difficult task of moving my aging mother from Southern Illinois to our home in Southern California. We called All State Van Lines Relocation to help us move all her belongings. From start to finish, this was easier than we thought it would be. Our price quote was based on the estimated weight and contents of mom's house. The only downside (causing 4 stars rather than 5) is that the final cost was about 20% higher than the original estimate. We had more than we thought. The movers arrived right on time and ready to work for the pick up at Mom's house. On the other end, the truck arrived precisely on time for delivery and even though it was raining, the guys got all Mom's precious things into the storage safely. This experience could have been so difficult, but All State made it so much easier than we thought possible. If I ever have to do something like this again, I will be calling All State to do the job. The lady I talked to was really nice and courteous trying to help me out to get the moving dates and the whole move done. When the day came to pick up my stuff, the movers were at the storage facility before I was. There wasn't an All State truck there, but a different truck company. Job #10589889-06 I moved from Rochester, NY to Madison, WI in August, 2014. I only had a well-furnished one bedroom apartment worth of furniture and this was the first time I'd ever owned enough stuff to warrant a full service moving company. I've heard a lot of horror stories about moving companies so I seriously considered just renting a big U-Haul but now I'm very glad I didn't! Karlos called me within 24 hours of me contacting All State Van Lines and quoted a price which was around 15% lower than any of the other four companies I'd spoken to. I asked if they could do the pick-up and drop-off on specific days and he said they needed to give me a range but would try to arrange what they could since my move was still a few months away. Throughout the process all parties involved (All State, and the local contractor All State used) kept me very well informed. Also, the final price ended up being slightly below the quote and the insurance was cheaper than with any of the other companies I'd talked to. The contracted movers showed up on exactly the day I'd asked for months earlier and were clearly experienced and careful. They loaded and tagged my stuff efficiently, had me sign a few forms, and estimated, to the hour, when they would arrive at the drop-off location. They arrived half-way across the country exactly when they'd estimated with all of my stuff completely undamaged. During drop-off it started raining so the movers wrapped all of my wood furniture in sheets of plastic before moving it from the truck to the building to and again took care of it all carefully and quickly. I've been very satisfied with everyone involved in this move and will definitely choose All State Van Lines in the future. more

I must say my experienced with All State Van Lines proved to be a very good one. I was under much stress moving 2600 miles all by myself and the employees at All State reassured me of every facet of my move, every step of the way. They were professional & courteous. In addition, they very much adhered to their pick up and more so their delivery dates. I have to admit I was concerned that my belongings were going to arrive prior to me taking ownership of my new place and me arriving. In the end All State prevailed and delivered absolutely on time. In addition, the movers took good care of my belonging - nothing was damaged and they were very conscious of the walls of my new place and old place. Thank you All State! more

All State stepped up to the challenge and redeemed my faith in moving companies. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I recently moved from Jonesborough TN to St. Louis, MO. The entire move was handled very well from my initial conversation with the All State representative to final delivery. I was kept informed every step of the way regarding pickup and delivery times, and each happened at the promised times. The delivery team was very professional and efficient; they picked up on Friday and delivered on Monday. Not only did they reassemble all of my furniture, but they took the time to ask where I wanted each item and then made sure I liked the final placement of the furniture. The move was actually an amazing experience, made much easier by the prompt, efficient, friendly, and well-coordinated service provided by the entire AllState team from start to finish. Recently moved from chicago to Colorado and the move went down hill once I agreed to have them move my items. I was not able to change the load date even though I notified them in 10 business days when only 5 were needed. Best Price Moving company stole several of my items and dropped boxes so items were broken. They left 2 mattress sets in Chicago that had to be shipped a couple of weeks later. Be aware of this company and never use them. more

I had to downsize my living space, since I was living alone in a big, 5 bedroom house. I had no idea how much "stuff" I could fit into my 2 bedroom apartment. That mad estimating the move difficult, but the folks from All State helped me figure out how many boxes I'd need to move and gave me a realistic perspective on what would be involved. On "Moving Day", the truckers arrived right on time and got to work packing things up. I had pre-packed a lot of books, kitchen items and electronics, so the packing went quickly and smoothly. Because this was a relatively short move (about 15 miles) they were able to get everything done in one day. Pack-up, Load-up and deliver took about 6 or 7 hours, and they were done. Very professional and efficient. I was very pleased with the whole process; now all I have to do is unpack boxes, set up furniture and make everything fit. It's gonna take awhile because I didn't downsize enough. Still have things that I don't know what to do with. Does All State offer "Move-inners"? This isn't the first time that we've used a moving company, but it was definitely one of the best experiences. We were informed of what was going to take place every step of the way. All State was very accommodating when we had to delay our move due to illness. The movers carefully wrapped our fragile items and very strategically stacked our boxes. The drivers were in touch with us while they were on the road and arrived when they said they would. Bob and Nick, the movers were courteous, friendly and efficient. They placed our items where we wanted them and everything arrived in great shape. If needed, we will definitely use All State again. We will certainly recommend them to others as we couldn't have been more pleased. more

From the beginning of our move from Florida to Washington I should have stopped this company , we spoke to Karlos at first from all state and all he told us was lies from day one , the people who came to our house were Russian and didn't speak any English only basic words of yes no here I give you phone , it was terrible then they tried to charge us more money at pick up when Karlos told us that we put a deposit down and not until they deliver to our location do we pay the rest. After that I really should have stopped them but once again I called Karlos from Allstate and he reassured us that our property will be ok and that not to worry and he was very wrong. My furniture was suppose to be delivered on Oct.22 2014 they picked it up on Oct 2 2014 , so all that time and when I called asking where my furniture was they said it was still in Florida and had to find a mover to take it to Washington , I couldn't believe this was happening and then to top it all off they said my items were over the weight and wanted to charge me an additional almost 1000 dollars .... I went from Andrian to there supervisor James at all state van lines to find out us movers had my items and relo and then super movers delivered my items and everything I mean everything was damaged... Also the weight was wrong me And my husband had to argue with the driver to go to a weigh station so we can verify weight and at the weigh station he tried to pull and a fast one on us and make the truck come out more weight , thank god the worker at the weigh stop caught him and told him he had to drive through the stop again to redo the weight. So now I have to file claims and wait to see if they follow through with returning my money for the weight being wrong and destroying all of my property... more

When we booked with All State in Feb, we were promised a smooth move. We were up front that we wanted to pay with our credit card and never ONCE did anyone mention a 3% fee until the 17th. "It is our process" I was told but when I pointed to the fact that it was not in our contract and I shouldn't have to pay it I was informed that it was their process. The fee was waived but not after a lot of fight, energy and time on my part. On 9/18, 6 days before our move, we were contacted that our anticipated delivery date which was schedule between9/30 and 10/8 was being extended to the 16th. I needed to have a place available for that length of time incase they came that early but was told "Maam, you can't really expect us to deliver your things cross country in 7 days." I was then told that the earliest date I could anticipate delivery would be between the 3rd and 6th of Oct. I signed a lease for the 7th. Our pick-up happened because we had no other option but to move forward because we were anticipating closing on our house on the 24th. The moving company was unprofessional showing up almost 3 hours late, leaving their trash behind and charging us incorrectly. During the time of our pick-up All State called to ask if the movers had showed up. This was why I paid them almost 2K... to make sure that my move was smooth, not for them to check in with me to see if they showed. From the 24th until today (10/14) we have been assigned to 6 different employees at All State and not one of them has helped us. They have changed our delivery date to between the 17&19 of Oct. As of today they still cannot say when our belongings will arrive just that they have been unloaded from the original truck and onto another truck in Chicago. The employees we have spoken with at All State have been rude and and uninformed telling us incorrect information and unable to give us rates of things are expected to pay. We have been lied to and what is worse we have an empty apartment waiting for our belongings. Our family is being held ransom. more

Nightmare situation, serverely mis-quoted, $2k turned into $3.5k. Drivers are rude and want to pick fights. My stuff arrived after receiving 4 different time windows and a weeks worth of aggravation. My furniture dismantled and in pieces and I hadnitems stolennl from me. There is a lot this company doesnt tell you and please beware! more

I would recommend All State Van Lines for a long distance move. The movers were at my house as scheduled on moving day. They wrapped and padded everything very well. They explained everything to me, as I have never moved long distance before. The only problem I had was with the delivery day. They picked up on a Tuesday and I was told that delivery would be Friday. Later on Friday, I was told by the office it would be Saturday. As it got later on Saturday, I called the office and was told they would be here. I then received a call from the actual driver and was told for sure they would be here Sunday morning. They were here Sunday morning exactly when he said they would be. I'm not sure what happened, but there was clearly some misunderstanding with the dispatcher, the office and the driver. The driver and moving crew were great. They moved all of my stuff to a third floor apartment which took them about 5 hours up and down 2 flights of stairs. They were polite and respectful and not a single item was broken or damaged. So, in spite of the delivery time issue, I would recommend All State and would use them again if I needed to in the future. more
