My father and I were looking to replace our ancient heater. At first we were shown the various heating and cooling systems but the prices are beyond what we expected. Ish Medellin, our representative understood our position and so he did what he could to get us a deal. In the end we got what we saw fit our needs at a good price. more

A Very Positive Experience 5/15/2014

Jimmy D came to our house and did a very thorough check of our AC unit. He even found a serious problem no other company had discovered in the past. He was courteous and respectful to all the members of our household, even our two dogs (who thought he was great). He asked if I was interested in their Home Service Plan and I was glad he asked because I had been meaning to buy it. I am very happy with the quality of service I received and am confident I will receive the same quality of service when he checks my furnace in the fall. I definitely plan on asking for Jimmy by name. more

Jimmy was great! 4/11/2014

Jimmy D came out to do a setup on my new air conditioner unit and he was very easy to work with and respectful. He put booties on when coming in and out of the house, which is great since we got new carpet 3 days ago! Asked me multiple times if I had any questions regarding the furnace or Air Conditioner. Great experience! more

Furnance Noise 3/26/2014

Nate is the best! I have had another technician look at what could be causing a terrible vibrating noise could be heard on my first floor, and all I got was that the furnance was a bit over ten years old and things make noise as they get older. Okay... but what and can it be fixed? I called again to ask for Nate to see if he could figure it out. Nate, who has been maintaining these furnances almost since the beginning, came up with the problem, needed to order a part and will replace it when it comes in. He took his time, listened & really took the care to find the problem. He sure knows his stuff! Thank you! A++ more

Manny 235 review 3/26/2014

This is the first time I had Manny as a technician (I have had many other plumbers and H/AC tech's work in my home before though). Manny is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and seems to be straight forward & honest. I am the second owner of this home, which is 25 yr's old, and things are starting to 'fall' apart. ARS has been contracted with me since around 2003 for replacing and maintaning my furnances &AC. Recently, I have had my water heaters replace by Greg w/ ARS with the coil-less water heater (very expensive project). Throughout the decades, I have had some good tech and some not so good techs. The work that needs to be done now with this draining pipe is much more complicated and very expensive to do than anyone originally thought. I do trust that the work he will do will be perfect and that ARS will stand behind everything. I know that his work will be guaranteed and that this problem will be fixed. He is a great representative of your company. Thank you. more

heating 2/11/2014

I woke up Monday morning 2/10,to realize I had very little heat in the house. I had a ad for ARS Rescue. I went to work and called the office at about 8 am. After talking with the really nice guy who answered the phone and telling him what was going on he set me up that day. He said some one would come out between ten and two that afternoon. They would call an hour before they got there. They ended up calling me about 30 min later. Jimmy D was there at 9:30. He looked at my furnace and by 10:15, I had heat. The end total due was just as he'd had showed me in his book. He explained everything and it was a great home repair experience. Thank you. Jimmy D, and ARS/Rooter. more

This vendor provided a remarkably good experience 1/17/2014

The tech arrived right on time calling ahead to confirm arrival time. The tech was professional, courteous and experienced; he even put covers over his boots so as to not track in dirt. I had not seen that done in quite a while. I had taken advantage of an Angie's list coupon for the tech to inspect plumbing and do an overhauls of a toilet. After the original project was done I asked for a quote on replacing 7 shut off valves and sink disposals and found, to my delight, that not only were the quotes acceptable, he would do the work as part of the appointment and would not have to return. The work was quickly and professionally completed along with appropriate clean up. All in all, I was very satisfied with the work done by ARS / Rescue and definitely will use them for future plumbing work. more

Annual Furnace Cleaning-Tune Up 1/13/2014

Nate was very helpful - There was a leak due to power of air flow up the drain pipe. He was able to stop it and was going to follow up with Rheem to see if there is something that can be done permanently. If another service call is necessary he advised that someone will be contacting us. Great servicing technician! more

Scott provided detailed information related to what I wanted to have done and what I may need to have done in the future. Although there was a slight hiccup of the purple primer being spilled on the concrete floor (and a little platter on the whitewashed poured concrete wall), that is no big deal. (Had it been carpeting, that would be different.) The most important thing is that Scott apologized and still completed his work with a high degree of precision. He then explained everything that was done. I'm no plumber, and when plumbing needs to addressed, I call on the professional. I will ask for Scott in the future. more

Review of ARS Illinois Plumbing Service Call 11/9/2013

I just got a hot water heater inspected after one year into service. This was part of a prepaid home service plan that was offered to me at the time of the installation. The technician, Scot W. arrived promptly, was very nice, courteous and professional. He performed the flushing of the water heater and did an all around inspection of the home plumbing, showing me where I may develop problems in the future. He offered me some quotes, but did not try to pressure me into purchasing anything. He patiently answered all my questions, and gave me some drain maintenance liquid for the drains, along with thorough instructions on how to properly use it. Scott was great, I would like to commend him for a job well done! more

Mike #361 - TERRIBLE Experience 11/8/2013

This was a follow-up furnace repair to replace the defective board/safety switch issue discovered yesterday by Jimmy D. during my seasonal clean & check. Today's tech arrived one 1 hour 45 minutes late for an appointment window that was between noon & 4:00. At 4:30, I started calling ARS only nobody answered at the dispatch office. Eventually someone did and I was told "he's running late and they would contact him to determine his arrival time". I never got that call but at 5:45 the van arrived. Mike said "he had no idea when his scheduled arrival time was". Being very frustrated, I thought it best to let him do his work which he completed at 7:00 pm! That's when I told him how disappointed I was with the entire experience - spending 7 hours at home waiting for the safety switch to be replaced and not knowing when or if it would be since I never heard anything back from the dispatcher. His response..."Frankly, you're lucky you had it replaced this quickly at all". Disappointed... more

Furnace Clean & check 11/7/2013

I called ARS for my annual furnace clean & inspection. I haven't used them before but found their coupon in a local flyer. The tech - Jimmy D. arrived on time, he had a professional appearance (dressed in uniform) was clean and polite. He thoroughly cleaned the furnace by disassembling burners & other components. In the past, techs have simply used a vacuum & compressed air... Jimmy discovered a couple defective components one of which was a fire safety switch. Had he not disassembled and properly checked everything, who knows what may have happened. Thanks for not cutting corners Jimmy! more

Appreciated the excellent service that Nate provided and he kept me well informed of the process in replacing the circuit board for my furnace. He had to come back with a Trane circuit board and could not use the universal circuit board and asked when I would be home from work so he could install it. He totally went out of his way to install it without me having to leave work early to get this done. I asked him about my water heater which is 21 years old and he provided the information needed for a special that you are currently running and he is in the process of setting it up for me. I really like the idea of not having to use coupons but paying a small fee each month which is less than the coupon price to have my furnace and air conditioner inspected each year. You have special pricing for seniors and discount pricing for parts which I have included with my plan with ARS. This is so nice and the switch to your company has been a very nice experience.
