I Learned To Love It 1/24/2012

I love sea foods and dining at the mussel pot was an incredible chance for me. My bf was the one who brought me at the Mussel Pot last Friday for a dinner and I was overwhelmed at how elegant and classy the restaurant was. My boyfriend was used to eat dinner here with his parents and that is why he wants me to make acquainted with the restaurant. The time goes by and I learned to love the restaurant. I like its elegance and whimsical atmosphere. The restaurant is located at a nice location at the Bleeker Street and the place was well-decorated. Their foods were well presented and are very exceptional. They presented rich sauces for their mussels instead of just broths that we are used to. It is a tranquil experience dining here. more

Excellent and Very Satisfying 1/24/2012

I have been waiting to try out the Mussel Pot for a short time now and the opportunity presented itself when my hubby and I discovered a Groupon...we were happy since after looking at the menu it was a bit pricey.  We were thrilled as we got nearer to using the Groupon. I arrived yesterday at the Mussel Pot at 8:15pm, told the hostess who I was and that I was waiting for my hubby to come...I ordered a glass of wine from the bartender, she was sweet and pleasing...kept me entertain while I waited another 10 minutes for my hubby to arrive...so he arrives at 8:25pm and we were seated at 8:28pm.  We sat all the way in the back (outdoor garden) of the restaurant; it was pretty busy but the waiters still manage to replenish our water.  The next moment the waitress comes over, introduces herself, ask if we had a voucher, we were both taken aback since you heard terrible stories of the mussel pot not accepting vouchers, so we were happy when she looked over the voucher and was like ok, look over the menu and pick our entrees, sides and desert.  We received our orders after 25 minutes…not bad…for the place was awesome. I was well lit, not so dim and not so bright. The background music was relaxing and the volume was just right. Most of all the food was excellent very satisfying. I love it. I think my hubby enjoyed more than me. I will be glad to go back here. more

Super fresh 1/24/2012

The seafood here meets my top priority when it comes to seafood...freshness! Nothing worse than eating fish that smells extra...well fishy. Haha. Definitely doesn't happen here. more

real good service 1/24/2012

it's always nice to find a new restaurant where not only the food is good, but the waiters pay attention to you and know how to make pleasant conversation. they were all very nice, even when there was a slight mix up with what my daughter ordered, but they fixed their mistake very fast and even comped us free dessert and drinks. more

I Like How They Prepare Their Food 1/23/2012

My cousins used to eat here during weekend and so was I. They love to stay here for they find the place very unwinding, refreshing. I love to come here because of their food: the restaurants special mussels. I have already tried the Lobster Dijon Entrée (saffron sauce, Dijon mustard, lobster sauce, smoked hardwood bacon, garlic, tarragon, baby shrimp, baby scallops) and the Veracruzana (tomato, capers, roasted garlic, cilantro, green olives, parsley, red peppers) and it was certainly great. I really love the way they prepare their food; they had this unique taste aside from the fact that they serve fresh sea-foods with thick and rich sauces and dipping instead of just broth. The place I think is just right for us. more

Scrumptious Sea-foods 1/23/2012

I love hanging-out here at the Mussel Pot since their scrumptious sea-food dishes and lovely atmosphere. We’ve been here last week together with my sister. I ordered a Lobster Dijon (saffron sauce, Dijon mustard, lobster sauce, smoked hardwood bacon, garlic, tarragon, baby shrimp, baby scallops) and I was highly satisfied. My sister added that their food was excellent it was well presented and served with a smile. I also find the place very inviting especially the rock-walled garden and Koi pond. Dining here at the Mussel Pot is worth your time. more

One of a Kind 1/23/2012

Two thumbs up to the Mussel Pot, I only eat here once and I was extremely satisfied with their food. I ordered Valenciana Entrée (saffron sauce, fresh clams, shrimp, chorizo, peas, tomato, white wine, olive oil, lemon juice, butter, bay leaf) and I instantaneously shifted to grow to be a sea food lover. One of my friend also had an experience dining here and he was overwhelmed not only by the elegant place but by the exceptionality of their recipes. They chef is simply one of a kind. They are much better than other sea food restaurants in town. more

Infused with Classic Comfort 1/23/2012

If you are in New York and looking for an ideal place to hang-out that serves unique sea-food dishes with elegant atmosphere and attentive staffs well I guess you better try the Mussel Pot. They had a broad list of mussel recipes as well as lobsters which are infused with classic comfort. They serve these with rich sauces and dipping instead of just broth which makes it more unique. The Mussel Pot is situated in a great spot in the village. The design is simple but gorgeous and classy. It is good for unwinding and meeting or just staying because they offer high-class wines too. As for me, I always come here because I sense good and more important for the staffs here are thoughtful and accommodating. more

My Family Loves It Here 1/22/2012

My son is really fond of sea-foods especially here in the Mussel Pot. I used to cook mussel dishes at home but he doesn’t like it but since I brought him at this restaurant I never thought he would love mussels. On our first time here I never ordered a mussel for him but when I let him taste my ordered mussel dish and he said want an order of those too. I guess their chef was just that good that even my son who hates mussels before made him a convert. My husband was amused by this event that he promised to take him back again and again at the Mussel Pot. My husband also love it here not because of the food though they were excellent but because the place was just very relaxing. The whole place was very neat and classy. One thing also that I love here is their prompt and happy waiters and hostess; this things really uplift your mood. We just love it here. more

I always believe this place as one of the best. I was wondering last night, what makes Mussel Pot outstanding? I think maybe because the place was situated in a nice location in the village. The interior designs are elegant, whimsical and beautiful. They play relaxing music at the right volume. They also had a very accommodating and attentive staffs that places your order promptly and with a proper demeanor. They are consistent and ideal in maintaining cleanliness and table availability. The overall atmosphere of the place is excellent and relaxing. They also had a wide-array of top-class wines. And finally they are specialist in satisfying their craving customers with their unique and excellent food. You will definitely ask for more. I guess they are just the best in seafood dishes. more

Prompt Service 1/22/2012

I have an extremely small patience to food establishments when it comes to the speed of serving my ordered items. But the Mussel pot never failed to satisfy me delivering my orders promptly. I can see that the staffs are very attentive to deliver my food at an earlier time possible. This is a great dining experience for me. Having your food on time especially when you are very hungry and you feel like you are starving to death. When you dine at the Mussel Pot, the foods were well-prepared and served with a smile. They have perfected good preparation and demeanor. These are things that will always makes you want to go back in this place. No doubt, The Mussel Pot is the perfect restaurant for you particularly if you are in a hurry. more

Better Than What I Have Tried 1/22/2012

When it comes to food quality I salute to Mussel Pot. Dining here is a must experience to all sea-food lovers. I already tried loads of their dishes here and the Mussel Pot never failed to surprise me. One of my favorite in one of their entrees here is their Valenciana mussels. This mouth-watering and satisfying mussels are served with saffron sauce, fresh clams, shrimp, chorizo, peas, tomato, white wine, olive oil, lemon juice, butter and bay leaf. Try this and the other recipes and you may even forget your own name. Lol. Seriously, they’re better than other seafood establishments that I have tried. more

Huge Mussel Pot Lover 1/22/2012

No doubt, I am really a huge Mussel Pot lover. I am a sea food lover since I was just a child and I always remember these restaurants that got me. And so far when we talk about sea food recipes, I must say that the Mussel Pot really got me. Their recipes were one of the best here in New York. They are also exceptional in making flavorsome sauces which compliments to every tempting dish they offer. They have this huge list of mussel dishes as well as lobsters (trust me you really need to try their mouth-watering lobster dishes). They also have these remarkable crab cakes, fried calamari and broccoli soup which are served while hot. more

We Were Satisfied 1/19/2012

My bf and I went at the Mussel Pot last Wednesday. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:15pm and it was quite empty.  However we didn't mind as it gave us the chance to appreciate the design of the place.  The space is really stunning with its modern look and seems a better fit for Midtown.  I especially liked the light color scheme and lighting as I'm tired of dining in the darkness at other restaurants. It was very neat and cozy. The hostess and waiters were polite and accommodating. The indoor seats were a bit cozier but we choose the outdoor seats near the garden for it was like a date spot. It’s very romantic. We ordered calamari, mussels and desserts and a bottle of wine. The mussels taste very fresh and the desserts were unforgettable. All were perfect and romantic. I love their garden with a small Koi fish pond. We will be coming back because we were satisfied. more

We Were Satisfied 1/19/2012

It was my first day of work when my friends called me at my mobile and they told me that they were at the Mussel Pot waiting for me. When I arrived, they were friends were there having fun. They said that those were a get together for the three of us and a celebration as well for my new job. They get me plenty of mussels and lobsters and some bottles of wines. It was really an excellent place. I find it good for hanging out. The elegance of the place created a somewhat fancy atmosphere. In addition to that, they also have a distinctive outdoor oasis garden that is very energizing. We just adore staying here for the place was great for us. more

I was Glad I Choose Mussel Pot 1/19/2012

It was raining when I went to the Mussel Pot, we did not intend to go there but since the restaurant is the nearest to me, I immediately got inside. The indoor and outdoor area were both packed, luckily I manage to find a seat. The hostess was kind and smiling as he led me to a seat. Even though it was quite noisy but the place was very relaxing. The hostess immediately took my order politely. I think my order was served for just about 20-30 minutes. The busboy was very responsive for he is constantly refilling the water on our table. I like that kind of attitude. The people here were very lively that’s why I was not bored while waiting for my order. My order arrived with a smile, started off with the crispy fried calamari for an appetizer. It was pretty good and the coating was very crunchy and hot and OMG the Lobster mac’n Cheese is so good. It was a perfect combination of cheesyness and creamyness. Actually everything on their appetizer area sounded amazing and I had to force myself to not keep ordering more. The mussels are very perfect because of the weather, I was glad they served it very hot. I was really glad that night that I choose to enter The Mussel Pot for it was great. more

Had a Great Time Here 1/19/2012

At first I never actually agreed to dine here because I think I may not like it here. My friend was the one who really like it here. She already saw this restaurant in the website and that she was convinced she wants to dine here. We arrived here at about 6:20PM, it’s pretty busy but we still manage to find a seat for the two of us. The place was emanates a cozy and fancy atmosphere. They had enormous pictures of gorgeous beaches on their walls which I find very soothing. We comprehend that it was very busy that day but we were astonished that the waiter still had managed to replenish our water. They served first our Crispy Fried Calamari, its coating was pretty crisp and the rings were rubbery, it’s good. It also had three choices of dipping but I think it’s not necessary for I love Calamari with no sauce. But it’s quite a cute idea. It consist of fresh poached blue mussels, shallots, grape tomatoes, baby shrimp, cucumber, basil, olives, feta, herb vinaigrette and some greens. For the mussels we ordered the Broccoli Au Gratin with broccoli, cream, butter, cheddar, Monterey jack and sliced almonds. It was apparently the highlight of the meal and we both liked it. I was really amazed at the place. more

Pretty Amazing 1/19/2012

Among the things that I love at this restaurant is that they are quick in serving my ordered items. I never have to wait long enough to satisfy my appetite for food and indulge my cravings. The staffs were very responsive although it was very busy when we dined here. They were wearing a very warm and big smile as they welcome us while we go inside. The staffs also manage to replenish our water even if no one told them, big points for that. You will also never get bored waiting for your order because the place is lively and pleasing. You will surely enjoy its elegant and classy atmosphere. The environment of the place is very elegant and relaxing. Especially if you are seated at the outdoor oasis garden where there is a Koi pond below its cascaded rock-wall. Not only those, their excellent foods also were very delightful and are uniquely prepared. For, instance their mussels are served with rich sauces as a substitute of just broths. There are many things in the Mussel Pot that will surely surprise you. Dining here is really cool. more
