Tasty cocktails & yummy mussels in the village 5/20/2011

A group of us ladies went here for a friends birthday. The birthday girl heard about it from a friend on Facebook. What a cute restaurant. Amazing decor and beautiful back garden with a waterfall and fish pond. The bar area could be a little brighter, maybe different lighting like in the dining area would make it more appealing. The food was amazing and the drinks delish. The mussels come in these cute pots and they are big and juicy. Coming back next month for another b-day party. more

Lovely dinner last night 5/19/2011

Even though the weather was terrible yesterday, Me and my husband decided to go out and get a bite to eat. We received an invite on Facebook to this new restaurant and thought it looked interesting. What a great concept of mussels with different sauces. To my surprise the restaurant was busy even in the heavy rain. We didn't make a reservation but the host seated us right away. We started out with some delicious wine and then went to the apps. We ordered only one mussel entree cause my husband wanted to try the steak also. The food was superb and the staff very professional and attentive. My husband wants to go back to try all the different mussel dishes and I am happy to agree with him. more

What beautiful restaurant and great food 5/18/2011

I've seen a-lot of tweets about this restaurant on twitter so me and my husband decided to try it out for our anniversary. We were sat in the outdoor garden which is breath taking and ordered a bottle of the house red wine which was wonderful. We order a few apps and 2 mussel entrees which were delicious. We were full but still decided to try the Nutella flan for dessert which was incredible. The staff was very attentive and caring with out being over baring and we had a superb experience. more

Best Mussels in NYC 5/18/2011

I went to this place for a birthday party my friend was having and its a perfect restaurant for that. The pots of mussels are big and you can eat them family style if you wish. The rib eye steak and chicken & waffle dishes were fantastic also. It was nice going with a big group since we were able to try many flavors of mussels. I think the New yorker and Thai were my favorite but thats cause I like heat on my food. The wine selection is good also. Lots of great bottles for moderate prices. Great service and friendly staff. This place is a must try if you are looking for something new and exciting but different. more

the worst service ever 5/15/2011

I can't say enough about the ghastly disgusting attitude of the workers. Treated very shabily. DO NOT GO HERE. Seriously!! Over priced, tiny portions, food so-so. more

HORRIFICALLY RUDE WAIT STAFF! Nasty Owner Too. 5/15/2011

HORRIFICALLY RUDE WAIT STAFF! Portions are quite small for the price. Food is average. Restaurant empty except for 3 tables yet waiters were unavailable. 10 minute wait just to be acknowledged. Lovely back yard garden. Inside table are too close and not conducive for conversations without next table hearing you. We cannot stress enough how sassy, fresh and dismissive the staff is. more

A hidden beauty of a restaurant 5/12/2011

I heard about this restaurant from Facebook and decided to make a reservation. The ambience and decor are wonderful along with the beautiful Chandeliers and lighting. The menu is very extensive and has a-lot of great things to choose from. The wine list is even better. Me and my friends had a great time. more

Great date spot and wonderful food 5/10/2011

I went to this place on a date and had a great time. The food was terrific and service on point. My date doesn't eat seafood but there were plenty of non-seafood items to choose from on the menu including pasta, chicken, steak and lamb. I had the Thai Mussels and they were fantastic. If you want to impress your date on your wine selection this is the perfect place since everything they have is terrific. Even the house red & white which we both tried were fantastic. The back garden waterfall is nice and the outside seating front and back is big plus. You can come here casual or dressy and not feel out of place. more

Disappointed! 5/8/2011

Disappointing. Understanding that it was Mother's Day and perhaps a busy time but the restaurant on the whole appeared to be ill prepared. Where do I begin? With Chef Ronnie serving lobster as an entree it would make perfect sense to make the appropriate utensils available....not a a lobster cracker or pick in site. The lobster was tasty but made for a very uncomfortable challenge, and those of us at our table of 10 could not fully enjoy the meal. Additionally, no bread was served, the orders were wrong and the servings did not all come out at once. The staff seemed totally out of sorts, rushing around and looking and sounding confused! Some at our table were served at least 15 minutes ahead of others. The experience was truly a test of patience! more

Girls night out and we went to The Mussel Pot 4/29/2011

A group of 9 of us were going out for my girls birthday and a few people on Twitter lately have been tweeting about The Mussel Pot. So we decided to check it out. The pictures do not do this beautiful restaurant justice. When we got there we asked to sit in the back yard but since there were no large tables available at that time, we sat in the dining room but still close to the patio so we can see the waterfall. No biggie cause it was a bit chilly out anyway. We decided to drink wine and ordered a few bottles. We ordered a few different mussel dishes to try and shared everything family style. Everything was yummy. The mussels were fresh, big and juicy and served in these adorable pots. We had a great time. A great restaurant for birthday parties. more

Fabulous Brunch 4/29/2011

I was looking for a brunch place that had something different on the menu besides the usual items. Then I found The Mussel Pot. We sat in the outside garden and it was a beautiful day. I ordered the lobster omelette and my husband had the Belgium waffles. Both dishes were delicious. We're coming back this weekend to try some of the other brunch dishes. My sister is coming to town next week and I will be taking her out to dinner at this new gem of a restaurant. more

What a phenomenal burger on the lunch menu!!!! 4/18/2011

I was in the mood for a burger and I figured Bleecker street has plenty of bars and burger joints. Then I remembered reading that The Mussel Pot was starting lunch so maybe they have a burger on the menu. I went there for dinner a few weeks ago and had a great meal so I figured it should be good. Oh was I happy I went there instead of 5 guys or one of the many regular bars. This burger was a masterpiece. "Ground rib-eye & NY strip topped w/truffled spottocenere cheese pancetta crisp, tomato confit & pickled red onion". WOW. And the hand cut fries were great also. I want to go back and try the grilled cheese next time. more

Now I love Mussels 4/15/2011

If you asked me a month ago to go to a mussel & seafood place I would have said your crazy. Last week my friend invited me to dinner and she wouldn't tell me where we were going. She just told me its a new place she read about and it has been getting great reviews. Ok how bad can it be? When we arrived I saw the name on top of the awning I was very hesitant. The look of the place was so nice however that against my better judgement I decided to go with it and not complain. Im so glad my inner brat didn't get the best if me. The host took us to our table and I was stunned on how beautiful the back patio was. The server came over and took our drink orders. We just got the house wine which we were told was very good and boy was it. For a wine by the glass this was the best Ive tasted. My friend convinced me to order a mussel dish even though there were plenty of non mussel dishes on the menu. So we had the Indian one and the New Yorker. WOW so this is what mussels taste like. OK I'm hooked. Silly me grew up in a house where mom made me dislike seafood. NOT anymore. I am a mussel lover now and will be back to try the other dishes soon. more

Seafood in the back garden patio 4/12/2011

I sat in the garden patio when I got tot this rstaurant. The sever told me it was the first day they had opened the patio since the weather was finally so nice. The water wall is breath taking and the pond has a group of fish gently swimming around. The place itself is stunning. I ordered the lobster mac n cheese which was the best I ever ate (and I have had it everywhere). I had the Texas mussels with BBQ pulled pork and wow was it good. The portions are very generous and I had to take a to go container home. This restaurant is wonderful and I would recommend it to any who wants a great meal in a beautiful place with out paying a lot of money. more

Musselmania!!! 4/6/2011

I checked out The Mussel Pot this past Friday w some of my GF's..The place is beautiful..First thing I noticed was the warm atmosphere created by the amber lighting. We sat @ the circular marble bar in the front. There were 3 of us and the place was packed so we didnt mind..The bartender was really sweet and friendly. We ordered some of the cocktails..the Almond Joy and the Tiramisu..Yummy chocolate heaven. They had oysters so we ordered a bunch..very fresh..It was later in the night around 10pm so we just ordered apps..didnt want anything heavy so we ordered the tuna tartare..it was so delicate and smooth w the avacado under it..mmmm..also got the fried osyters..they were yummy too..I love the vibe in this place and am planning to come back and eat a full meal soon. more

Great food and atmosphere 4/6/2011

I went there last week and loved this place. The food is really good and the wine selection is huge. The back garden is very nice. They are supposed to start brunch soon. I will be sitting outside listening to the waterfall and looking at the fish in the pond when that happens. This place is a great neighborhood spot and a great date place also. more

Yummy in my Tummy 4/5/2011

The Mussel Pot. Me and my girls were invited to the opening party last week and im sooooo glad we went. Food was delicious and it came out in these beautiful shiny pots. The drinks were refreshing and the restaurant was crowded. What a good time. Will be back next week. more

Wonderful time 4/4/2011

Went there last night. The decor of this place is stunning. The colors, mirrors and artwork are perfect. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very comfortable and very relaxing. The back yard has a beautiful waterfall and fish pond. The menu was very impressive and me and my husband had the mac n cheese and the blue point oysters to start. Both were amazing. For our main dishes we tried the new orleans mussels with fried okra and the new yorker with buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Both dishes were delicious. The servers were very nice and attentive. The meal wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. The wine selection was great also. Over all it was a wonderful experience. more
