They got my truck running like new! 11/3/2011

I bought a truck, that ended up being a total nightmare! Whatever could go wrong with it, did go wrong. It ended up coming down to the transmission. I called around to different shops and Dealer Direct Transmission and Automotive Repair was the most reasonably priced. They had it for about two weeks. When I got it back, it was still having shifting issues. They told me to give it a little time to settle in, and if it didn't then give them a call back. It didn't, so I called Angie and she told me to bring it in. They kept it for four days and when I got it back, it was like driving a new truck! I will definitely go back to them. It's not at all like going to a stereotypical garage where you think you're going to get ripped off, instead it's like going to the Pleasantville garage! Chris is really great a working with peoples payment arrangements. He will work with you because he understands the economic difficulty people are under right now. I live about 30 minutes away, but I don't mind driving to get there, it's well worth it! They are an awesome company to work with! more

These guys were awesome, from the customer reps to to mechanics. I had all kind of issues with the car since it is a bit older and the dealer I got it from did not take good care of it, when I brought it to dealer direct, they were understanding and patient with me (recently disabled military vet) and worked with me to get some basic stuff done. I'm going back for more soon, I tend to be extremely loyal once I find a good organization to work with and Dealer Direct were epic awesomesauce. more

If you want a good repair shop go somewhere else. I brought Dealer Direct my 1999 Honda Accord on July 11th for a transmission rebuild and other minor repairs and it is now Sept 7th and they are still having difficulties making all the repairs to the vehicle. I was originally quoted $3327.00 for all repairs only to have Dealer Direct tell me that there would need to be an additional $846.00 in repairs a week later. I asked the repairman to please put all of my broken parts they were replacing into a box in the trunk of my car. They did not. How do I know that the additional $846.00 in work was even done? In addition I had Dealer Direct replacing the AC control to the vehicle for which they received and sent back 5 different times. Oh and by the way did I mention that while in their care my starter went bad? Another $420.00 in charges. All in all it cost $4593.00 to fix my 99 Accord with Dealer Direct. I urge you to go somewhere else, you will be glad you did. more

Big Time Auto Thief 7/27/2011

I went to this shop because I am new to the area and saw a good review here. This guy must write his own reviews! I got quoted $2,000 to fix my transmission (wouldn't shift right) but told them I would have to wait to save up and then they charged me $400 for the 'free estimate' and if I didn't pay, they wouldn't give back my car. Then I took my car to the New Car Dealer for a second opinion and they showed me a disconnected wire under the car. the Dealer hooked the wire up and then said I just need the computer 'flashed' which ended up costing about $100, but the car is perfect now. I went back to Dealer Direct to complain about the $400 'estimate' and the short guy with beady eyes that said he was the owner, told me to 'f**k off"". I called the BBB and found out these guys are 'F' rated, and keep changing their name when they get too many complaints. While I was waiting to speak to the owner the girl (cashier?) who works there told me I got off lucky, a lot of people get liens put on their car titles there. Robert more

Crooks! 6/27/2011

I was in a bind and turned to the first place I could find. Big mistake that I ended up here! It was confirmed later when I took my car to the Lexus dealership that what they told me was an absolute lie. They said that my breaks were ""metal on metal"" which Lexus (a day later) verified was not true and said my breaks and break pads were in perfect condition. I went in for a dead battery and was told that not only did I need a new battery but a new alternator as well, which ran me over $500, and based on my experience I have no doubt I did not actually need. They were shady from start to finish And it was evident they were going to gouge me in some way as they thought I would just sit by and trust them. Please save yourself the hassle and save your pockets from these deceptive folks! more

2003 GMC 2500HD Jacked up diesel 4/6/2011

My truck was blowing white smoke. You did an analysis of it and thought it had a bad fuel filter. After the diagnostic and filter I believe it was about a $190.00 charge. The smoke went away for about an hour or so but, on my return trip home it started again. I had the injectors tested when I returned home and found out that one of the injectors was bad. So, needless to say I did not need to spend $100 on the filter replacement. I had just replaced that filter the previous oil change. So, it was still good. more

My car is having problems I cant go over 35mph or it shifts out of gear until it gets back down to 20mph than it goes back into gear again. I called after 5pm I have been calling places all day trying to get an idea of what worse case scenario could be. Every one says they can't tell me anything unlesss I bring it in, Well that could get expensive with tow fees to a bunch of places. Well, these guys are having my car towed to them tonite. So they can give me a free estimate. If everything consists as is they will definately get my business. He givcares, unlike other places. I sure am not made of money, single mom in this economy.. more

They were able to fix my brakes in one day and were able to take me to and from school, while my car was in the shop. Overall Dealer Direct was a good experience. more

Decent service, nice workers. Unfortunately they did not fix my problem. 2/2/2011

I found Dealer Direct Transmissions and Automotive on the internet. Their website was impressive and they were located close by. I decided to give them a try. There was one specific thing I needed fixed. They offer a free diagnostics check and they found a few other things that needed fixing so I told them to go ahead. When I went back a week later, the thing I had originally gone in for still wasn't fixed and they had discovered a couple more issues. Again, I told them to go ahead and fix everything. When I went back a week later, the original issue had still not been taken care of. Obviously, there was some confusion and miscommunication about what all needed fixing. I probably won't be going back there. The overall service was decent and they were nice. But I was very disappointed that what I needed to have done, never got done. RESPONSE FROM Dealer Direct Transmission and Automotive Repair: This customer originally brought his vehicle in for a chime issue. Dealer Direct gave this customer a free estimate regarding all the work his vehicle required including the chime repair. This customer informed Dealer Direct he would come back in to do the work when he was able to afford the repairs. He came back in on two different occassions with his estimate and informed Dealer Direct what work was to be done on each occassion. Dealer Direct followed the customers directions and did the work he requested. We strive for 100 customer satisfaction, all the work this customer requested to be done would not have fixed his chime issue. more

If you don't believe me, see for yourself with this Action 9 news report. Go to wftv and search ""repair shop horror story."" When is the State of Florida going to prosecute this crook?! He already left a trail of law suits, in his wake, when the State of Texas ran him off. more

Fixed my A/C Perfectly! 2/1/2011

They were great about driving me to and from work. It took them a few days to fix the AC, and they didn't show up on time to take me to work one morning, but other than that, they fixed my A/C so it now blows ice-cold air. They were kind enough to drive me to and from work and home, and NOBODY does this. I mean, they drove me 10 miles from their shop to work and back! Also, call around and check prices...these guys are the least expensive I could find! I tell everyone I know to use this shop. I am a customer for life! more

Looking for an auto repair shop you can trust in Orlando? Use Dealer Direct. 1/4/2011

We have a pretty good car that we've had for years but when we were on vacation recently, it broke down. We have a big family, and we had driven to Florida in the car, so this could have been the end of our vacation. We had never had a problem like this before. We found Dealer Direct Transmission and Automotive on the Internet and, because we are not from the area, we did not know if we could trust them or not. They came to the resort we were staying at and picked up the car. They fixed it and brought it back to us, all for a reasonable price. They got the job done within a day. We got through the rest of our vacation, thanks to them. The car has not had to go back to the shop since the repair was done. That says a lot right there. Dealer Direct was very knowledgeable and they kept in touch with us and maintained good communication. We are very grateful to them for the way that they handled everything. They knew it was a crisis for us and they absolutely eased the situation. Josh Hollifield more

BIG CROOKS 12/29/2010

Don't Believe It !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the real deal on Dealer Direct Transmission & Automotive. Do not believe the favorable reviews because Shuler and his Staff along with his girlfriend Helen Lawson and his staff create them. Then he calls City Search out in California and threatens to drop them if they do not delete the unfavorable reviews. Shuler will give you a free estimate, and if you are not very careful to make sure he understands the Exact work you want done to your car, he will perform unauthorized repairs on your car and charge you for them. If you can not pay, he will take your car and sell it. On top of that, he will charge you for repairs not performed. Many mechanics have quit due to this unethical practice. Once, Shuler made a deal with a guy who's truck was up for repossession. He took the guy's truck in for repairs, paid the guy for the truck, removed the engine, transmission and disengaged the power windows. Shuler filed a mechanic's lien claiming charges were owed on the vehicle. When the lien holder found the claim, they sent the insurance adjuster to inspect the truck against the lien holder's claim. The insurance adjuster found the truck without its engine ,transmission and the windows broken and in the down position. He totaled the vehicle. Soon as the claim cleared and Shuler got the title cleared, he had his mechanics reinstall the engine and transmission and reconnected the power windows. He put it up on craigslist and sold it for over $10,000.00!!!!!. If he will do that to make money, he will also screw you too! Listen folks- This GUY IS A CROOK DELUXE! He started with one dealership at his 6367 E. Colonial Drive and in less than a year he opened two more. The other two are now closed since he was exposed by channel 9 news (WFTV Orlando) twice in August 2010. (See Video Clips) htt://www.wftv com/video/24734071index.html). and (htt:/www.wftv com/viedo/24626519/index.html). Now you do the math. He has a warm smile and friendly handshake, but behind those eyes are dollar signs and he does not care about you. The very best thing you can do for your self is go anyplace else. Anywhere except Dealer Direct and Chris Shuler. Be sure to check City Search from time to time and you will see that this review will have been removed. Remember, the favorable ones are fabricated by Chris Shuler himself, along with his girlfriend Helen Lawson and his staff. more
