I saw Virgilios was rated so high on CitySearch and has won so many awards. I feel bad saying this, but their pizza is okay, but nothing spectacular. Colorado natives just do not know what good pizza is. \r

Being from St. Louis - I'm always on the lookout for pizza that can rate as high as many of the mom and pop pizzerias do in St. Louis. Ultra - cracker, thin crust, floury on the bottom with excessively juicy sauce and cheese topped with numerous spices. But here in Denver, I have yet to find anything remotely close to that. All pizza here is thick, doughy crust. Too much bread. And the pizza is too dry! Not enough sauce. Or the sauce is too pasty, not thin enough.\r

When I saw the ratings and awards on City Search for Virgilios - I went and ordered a Cheese and Mushroom and Tomato Pizza, the pizza is very dry, not juicy at all, the crust is thicker (not cracker thin) (I guess this is what New York style pizza is??? (ick) and all in all, it tasted like a tombstone pizza from Safeway.\r

I know Virgilios uses very fresh ingredients and I guess this is NY style pizza so maybe this isn't an honest comparison, but coming from St. Louis, where cracker thin, floury crust and super juicy, spicy tasting pizzas is what it is all about, this pizza just left me looking for something better.\r

On the other hand, the service was great and other people seem to like them. I guess I just despise New York style Pizza.
Pros: Inexpensive, Great Service
Cons: No thin crust, pizza is very dry, sauce is very pasty, not juicy.
