Service is not very well trained and seemed hurried at times. The food is on the average side, but WAY over priced. Might be worth trying again on a slow night, but I am not...

I normally do not take the time to post reviews. I just had to let people know about our wonderful experience! AMAZING food, wonderful wait staff! Would HIGHLY recommend. We went there on a Friday night and were blown away by the quality of food, and attentive help. We asked to see the manager to let him know what an awesome job Virgilio's was doing and Virgilio himself came to our table. We will be back! more

It's so nice when a restaurant hits on all cylinders like Virgilio's. From the moment we came in the staff was courteous and smiling which tells you a lot about a place.\r Our server was on her game and did an excellent job of taking care of us. The salad was fresh, our drinks were well made and the food was top notch. Everyone around us was enjoying themselves which again speaks volumes of what others were also experiencing. The marinara was superb, so those pizza enthusiast who can also attest it's all about the marinara. All the food was made very well and also presented equally as we'll. I ran out of the marinara and as the bus boy if he could find our server? He said no problem I'll take care of you. He's can for about two minutes and returns will a large bowl of marinara and a smile and says this should be about right. Again top notch all the way around. I strongly recommend this restaurant as they are setting a very high standard in all areas of this superb dining experience. more

What a find in the Littleton suburbs. i have been there at least 10 times now. Trust me when I say this is one of the best Pizza/Italian restaurants in all of the Denver area. There are so many things to try but here is my list. The garlic knots (amazing), the ficohi (heaven), spicy mussels (better then bone fish), burrata with prosciutto di parma (wow), the margarita pizza (best pizza I have ever had), the spinach pinwheels (awesome) to name a few dishes. When better then great food is great wine. The wine bar is 1st class, to see a wine system like this in the burbs just does not exist. The wine selection is huge and the prices are even better. Nothing over 12 by the glass and so pour me so Villa Antinori Super Tuscan Tip: get there before six and all bottles are 20% off. The place has a fantastic patio with a huge gas firepit that we have closed down many times with a great bottle of wine, 20% off again after 9pm (yeah). The staff is great and we never have had a bad experience. The owner (born in Italy) has always given us great wine choices so we always ask for him and he is always there to our delight. It does get very busy on the weekends so try a weeknight its much easier to get in. more

Best pizza in the Western U.S. 7/5/2012

I have been going to Virgilio's since it opened. I have not had better pizza anywhere. There staff is is smart and friendly. Virgilio is a great guy who does a lot for the community. I just wish there were more of em' Couldn't think more highly of this establishment Pros: the over the top ingredients. The crust. The fresh garlic Cons: Staff is a bit New Yorkish. Go for the pizza not the service. Vergilio (the owner) is great more

We were very excited to try Virgilos as we recently moved near by and it had been highly recommended by both a friend and a neighbor. \r \r We arrived and liked the decor with all the wine corks. My wife ordered the ravioli and me and my two boys ordered a large peperoni pizza with just cheese on a quarter of it for one of my sons does not like peperoni. The server said that they could only do half pizza toppings not fourths. \r \r I told her that I was willing to pay for the whole pizza to be peperoni just to just have the kitchen not put it on one forth of it. The server then said she could not Guarantee the peperoni would not be on the fourth, I said that was fine just do your best. She then came back and stated that she checked with the kitchen and they said they could not do it. At that point I was frustrated and asked for the manager. I figured once the manager came out it would be sorted out quickly. Even Domino's will do this for you so surely a custom pie place like this could pull off this simple request. \r \r The manager then came out and said that the owner Virglio had made a rule that they could not take the peperoni off of one quarter of the pizza only 1/2 pizzas. I laughed because I thought she was joking but to my amazement she was serious. Wow I guess the customer just cant get what they want here. I asked her if I could speak to Virgilio and she said he was unavailable but she would give me his email address. She agreed it was a dumb rule and she apologized for not being able to help us but refused to make the pizza. I told her we would leave if she could not bend the rule she agreed was dumb and she said we could leave so we did.\r \r It is sad that a place would rather see guest to the door than to pull off a few peperoni's from one part of a pizza. They have lost four new customers and when we told our neighbor and our fiend about the experience they were amazed and said they would not be going back loosing eight loyal customers. I hope that policy is worth it. more

Best Restaurant & Wine Bar in the Suburbs 1/9/2012

We went to Virgilio’s with another couple for their New Year’s Eve winner pairing dinner. I have been to a few wine dinners but this was by far the best. We started with a aperitif (aperol), the wine selection was fantastic, the dinner was a feast for a king, the dessert and port was amazing and we finished with a digestif (lemoncello) wow!!! On a night that was very busy the service was great, our server Jared was the nicest young man who was always checking on us. We made our way to the bar where the band was and just had a ball. I really enjoy this restaurant, the cork walls are really one of the coolest I have ever seen. The wine bar is beautiful and the owner has always stopped by to say hello. There is nothing like Virgilio’s without going downtown. Remember this is a family restaurant so try to sit in the bar area or the room with the tin ceiling next to the bar (less kids). Thank you Virgilio for a fantastic meal and a great New Years Eve. We will be back next year. more

Horrible Boss 1/1/2012

We were in Virgilio's last night celebrating New Years Eve, we love the food and it's close to our house. I left EXTREMELY upset and now will be sure to tell EVERYONE that i know how horrible of an owner Virgilio is. We were sitting in the bar area and could hear Virgilio talking to the servers by their computer station. "" What the F%*# ?are you ordering now?"" the server responded that her ticket was lost and she was putting in an order. He then yelled at her, making her cry! I have worked in food industry for 15 years and this is NOT how you treat your employees! So after I got home I felt compelled to call and voice my opinion to the manager or even Virgilio himself. The person who answered informed me they were both too busy so I asked to pass my message along- how he treats his employees makes me sick! The poor girl was crying! The best type of advertising is word of mouth and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know what I experienced! After I ranted and raved for a little while the girl preceeded to hang on me. Great Customer Service. I'm surprised he still has any employees at all. Very upset, my family and friends will never go back there. more

Love The Pizza, Best Pizza in Denver 12/14/2011

Some of the best pie West of the Mississippi -- OK, I may be exaggerating, but Virgillio's did cut it with both this NY/NJ -ite . What I liked about this joint is that you can 1/2 and 1/2 the pie without problem. I like white, he likes red sauce, We asked for the following pie: 1. Crispy Thin Crust 2. 1/2 Quatro Formagi ( 4 cheese), basil and garlic, no red sauce. 3. 1/2 Dean Martin, red sauce, real bacon, basil and garlic. The pizza was fantastic. The servers where awesome and this place just has a great feel about it. We also had the Burrata a creamy goodness of mozzarella and cream OMG amazing stuff. Don’t forget to add a plate of prosciutto for $4.00. Amazing wine list also. more

Never had a bad meal. Best Pizza in Town!! 3/20/2011

No matter what I have tried at Virgilio's I have never been disappointed. The 20% off bottles of wine during happy hour always allows us to try a new wine. Best of all its not corporate. Keep up the great work Virgilio as we needed this here in Ken Caryl. more
