Bought a car from south coast. Great experience. Took it in for service; nice guy (Matt) and very helpful. Waiting for parts ( ordered). Left several messages. Haven't had one...

Replace headlight assembly 2/27/2015

David Garduno and Micheil Skinner really saved the day. There was a minor problem in the lighting connection. Micheil nailed it right away. He's amazing. Always great service from David. Ferdie, the service manager is absolutely the most professional and nicest person to deal with ever. I highly recommend taking your subaru to these guys. more

This truly is a tough one. I am very upset with Subaru for how long it took to send parts and authorize service. I know it is not really the dealers fault my car took 5 days short of 4 months to get fixed. With that being said, they fixed all my problems. My car now shifts better than it ever did and I am appreciative that they did a thorough check of my engine and fixed a boost leak. Also, Subaru only covered $1000 of a $1800 job, but somehow I only paid $600, so I think they helped me out as I am a college student All in all I am very happy. They answered all my calls, and there were a lot, and they were very nice and respectful. Did I mention my car drives better than it did off the lot new. It was always difficult to get into gear, but now it is very smooth Thanks more

well.....not impressed 2/10/2015

this was the 1st service on my new forester (purchased in aug 2014 @ South Coast Subaru)...not good...the alarm flags were not reset and began flashing less than a week after my visit...when I called I never could get through to the service dept...finally I asked the receptionist to ask how to reset the flags and she came back with the message that the service person "could talk me through the reset process but it'd take at least 20mins" otherwise I could "just swing by and they'd reset"....if they had problems with a simple service like I had and forgot to do what must be a fundamental step (reset alarms) well it doesn't bode well for future issues. I'll be trying Irvine Subaru Service..I've always bought my cars new and had them serviced at the dealer...that's a lot of future $$ for you..more of an effort should have been made...first impressions are lasting and mine wasn't good...I wonder..was the oil even changed??? more

Quick service without an appointment 2/9/2015

Always have good experiences with the South Coast Subaru folks. Took my car in early without an appointment for regular service and they had to car back to me and washed by mid-morning. more

The run around 2/4/2015

In December, I took my 2014 Subaru in for an issue. The service representative said they had replaced a part but that it might not resolve the issue. He mentioned that I would need to return and have them order parts. I set up this appointment on 1/20 for them to see which parts they would need to order. An hour and a half later the service representative told me that they had replaced the exact same part as last time and that I should see how it goes. I became upset and expressed that they've now replaced the same part after only 3,000 miles and that it was clearly a bigger issue. He said that he did not have the authority to order the parts and that the manager would have to approve it once the manager returns from vacation. After pushing back with the service associate, he went and looked to see what parts were needed. He said the issue was clear and that he would be ordering the parts. It makes me angry that I would need to return numerous times for a part issue on a brand new car. more

Overall my experience w South Coast Subaru has been great. Dave & the other gentleman, I think his name is Matt are very helpful. And quick to do service recovery. I had an incident where the guys working on my car didn't do a thorough job which could have been disastrous had something happen but I have to say the mgmt team responded immediately and demonstrated great customer service and recovery. more
