Technician installed units. One of them was not cooling/heating. Not satisfied with follow-up customer care that was provided.

Alex solved a problem in 10 minutes. Wow! 1/17/2011

My overall experience was not great or bad. However when 2 days of unresolved issues went on. I was a little unsatisfied. The techs that came out on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday told me all was well although no air was forcing through the vents. Today, Monday the 17th of January, everything changed in a matter of minutes. Alex, a tech from Austin came out to manage the unresolved issue. He went in the roof and simply adjusted directional flow. Within five minutes of his arrival we were too hot! GREAT work! Alex's knowledge and comfort level far surpassed the other techs. He single handedly solved the problem in less than 10 minutes. Alex surely should be promoted as educator. Thank you Alex the champion of Champion air. more

Replaced A/C Coil on Holiday Weekend, followup service was incredible. 1/13/2011

We had our A/C coil fail on Labor Day weekend and called several companies. Champion came out the same day and gave us an estimate. It was higher than others, but the could get the work done the same day, so we went with them. They were extremely professional, including wearing "booties" to keep from soiling my carpet. The A/C worked well all summer and we never had another problem. Months later, our furnace wouldn't turn on. We didn't bother calling anyone else, and Champion arrived within hours. Of course, it started working before the tech got there. Still he cleaned connections and said that sometimes the gas valve is slow to open. If we turn off the circuit breaker and then turn it back on, it resets and starts working again. HE DID NOT CHARGE US A DIME FOR THE SERVICE CALL!!! Sure enough, the next morning, it wouldn't turn on again. I did as instructed and it worked beautifully! I will always pay a little extra for the RIGHT service! They will always have my business! more

I bought my units from Champion AC so I have been using them for a while. Most recently, I called them out to take a look at one of my units. The technician found out that I needed another heating coil, so he picked one up, came back, and repaired it. They are good. William Morris more

Saved the day 11/27/2010

Woke up Thanksgiving Day and realized my AC was not working. We had a slew of guests coming over and i could not get a company to answer the phone. I saw Champion AC online and gave them a try and got surprised that i would have a technician come to my house within an hour. Roy was the technician on call that day and i have to say that i was very impressed with his professionalism and his quickness in finding our problem. I told him how horrible i felt about getting him away from his family during the holidays. He kindly said not to worry and fixed our problem promptly. I have been with Champion AC for a couple of years now and even when there has been a problem they have been great, they are persistant with finding exactly what the problem is and then fixing it. I thought I was spending more money than I should on an air conditioner, heating system, but with the membership 2 visits a year and a ten year parts and labor warrenty, even a transferable contract if I sell my house it was well worth the money.I am very pleased with Champion AC and will continue to stay with them. Friendly, professional service 9/10/2010

Champion AC tech Roy Salinas arrived on time and with-in minutes diagnosed and fixed our compressor, while explaining the problem (bad contactor) in easy to understand terms. Roy was very friendly and competent and I would not hesitate to recommend Champion AC. I also appreciate the fact that there was no "upselling". Also, about 2 months prior, Champion AC Tech Rene had added refrigerant to our system which indicated that we could have a small leak in our 2 year old system. Rene was also very professional and thorough with his explanations and possibilities. As it turned out (very positive)we did not have a leak. While here on this appointment, Roy checked our refrigerant level and it was normal/fully charged. The company that originally installed our system had not FULLY charged it with the correct level of freon. Thanks Champion AC for your honesty and integrity! Ed more

Repairs on my AC 9/1/2010

Had my 7 year old AC repaired one year ago by Champion. They came out the same day, checked the unit and pointed out all the mistakes that my previous AC contractor made.They fixed all the problems,caused by his lack of knowledge.Cost me $ 780.00 new parts and labor and I was promised by Champion, that my AC is as good as new and it will serve me well for many years to come. Sorry to say,my AC ran for exactly one year after Champion fixed it and now I have the same problem I had one year ago.My AC is dead and not working!!!! Champion offers a warranty for two years on parts, but only if you join their Red White and Blue Member Program and pay for it monthly. This is my review maybe it helps maybe not. We are truly sorry that your system failed 1 year after we serviced the unit. Being that we did not do the install all we can do is get your AC system up to code and optimize it as much as possible. Heating and Air Conditioning systems are mechanical items and do eventually break down and that is why we recommend that our customers get on maintenance agreements. These agreements allow us to come out twice a year to maintain the components of your system much like vehicle maintenance. We do appreciate your feedback and would love the opportunity to be your service provider.

Wouldn't fix it... wanted to sell me new 8/13/2010

OK.. I came to citysearch to find a company that people trusted and recommended. Champion A/C appeared the best. So I called them. They came out fast (plus) My inside unit had been freezing up and finally I had no cold air at all. When they came out they told me I had a freon leak and immediately said R22 is no longer available and you need a new system. Being gullible, I had the young man give me a quote for new systems. I was now in a panic because I couldn't afford new. When they left I cried for a long while wondering what we were going to do. I did some research and soon found that R22 was available but going up in price. The next day the manager called me to give me a discount on the new systems because my husband is a Purple Heart Vietnam vet.(nice gesture) I explained that I really needed just a repair and he said he could send someone out to give me an estimate. In the meantime, I had called another company to come out. They diagnosed the leak and told me it could be fixed for $507.00 WTH.. When Champion comes back out and give me an estimate (at no charge) for the repair, they send the same guy back out again and AGAIN he refuses to fix it, saying sorry, I won't do that to you. You need a new system and still doesn't leave me estimate to repair. He pumps a bunch of R22 into the system so it will be cold, but still leaking and leaves. (no charge for the R22 - that is not supposed to be available) It must be nice in this economy to turn away business. I finally called Sears and they came out and fixed it for $410.00. They were there for an hour and fix the leak at the compressor and took about an hour to complete the work. System is running beautifully. (BTW my system was installed 3/20/2003 it's only 10 years old) I was initially impressed with Champion, and quickly became disappointed. I'm glad others had a good experience. Mine was not - even though I wanted it to be. more

Now to replace coils---3 months later, Michael came by and gave me a quote--12 months interest free finance---what a great deal. Champion is now my GO-TO company for servicing my rental property---thanks so much for making a painful purchase a little easier on our wallets!~ more

Don't go with anyone else! 7/27/2010

The reason I went with Champion AC was because of the customer service. It was great. They were very accommodating. A couple of times when there was a problem, they came out right away. Champion AC put in a full, brand new system, including a coil, condenser, furnace, the whole bit. They did an exceptional job. Don't go with anyone else. more
