It has cut my electric usage more than 1/3 since installed. I would recommend Champion AC and the Amana AC system to anyone. Due to some kind of mixup we received visits from 2 different A/C companies, Champion AC and another company. The company other than Champion AC did not do a thorough review and repair of our AC problem. But, when Champion AC came by they did a much more detailed analysis, repair, and fix to our AC. I called and received same day service for my air conditioning. They were on time and the tech was knowledgable and efficient. Installation of new A/C was quick and efficient. But obtaining the certification for the local power company rebate on the new A/C was delayed and had to pick up the form myself to submit just before the last day of the 30-day suspense. Installation of new R8 ducting took some time, but system is finally working well and our energy bill has been cut in half. But, there is still some delay with Champion submitting the required testing/certification to local power company to obtain their $1500 rebate (initial installation began in January 2010). We did receive a $1500 credit on our fed tax for the new A/C. Unfortunately, it was a one-time credit for 2009-2010, so the additional upgrades to the ducting will have no effect on this year's taxes. Brandon did a very comprehensive review of my system and had recommendations for improving efficiency and safety. I did two things on the list and after he left I found out more about what he did and was surprised that the safety shut off part that I had just paid $235 per unit (I have 2) was a $30 item. Understandably there is markup and installation but that seemed unreasonable. Perhaps this is pricing within the industry but I don't know. Gave them a chance after hearing so much about them. Got the coupon for the 17-point inspection. Technician came out and stayed for quite a while inspecting everything. He even took me up in the attic to show and explain in better detail one of the recommendations he suggested. Didn't feel pressured to get anything extra done and he even offered some tips to help get better performance. Very impressed with my first encounter. Overall purchasing a 15 SEER Amana A/C unit from Champion was a good experience. James the salesman was ontime and provided good information and price for the system. Installation was scheduled for two days later and appeared to be going well until the technician's began to fire up the system. They could not figure out what was going wrong and had to call in another individual to help. Once that was all fixed I indicated that it didn't sound like the condesation pump was working. They stated that it should be because it was just a matter of taking out the old one and plugging in the new one. Well several hours later when the A/C unit stopped water was discovered and had saturated the floo under and within the unit. A technician came out the following day and fixed the problem. He indicated that is had been wired incorrectly. Upon further investigation my wife noticed that the wires were duct taped instead of with electrical tape or using a complete piece of wire from end to end. Since the leak issue was fixed the system runs extrememly well and have had no issues. The main issue my wife and I had was that it appeared Champion sent out two technician's that were inexperienced with the Amana system we had installed. It almost appeared that less than experienced techs were sent out because our job was a small job. Overall I give the entire experience 3.5 stars. more

Brandon did a great job. Initial communication for first appointment was a hassle but once we got past that, it was great. I initially requested Brandon for a Thursday 1-3pm and by 4pm nothing so i called and another guy was on his way by 5pm. Not happy since i requested Brandon. He did show up on Friday at 6:30pm, later than i wanted but at least he came. He also came today to fix the AC problem and it works now. Mixed reviews at this point. more

Great Service, Great Job and a Great group of people! I'll recommend them to anyone that is in need of a/c repair or service. The custmer servce was very fast, within 3 days my AC was repaired and working like new again. A big thanks to all that helped me through my AC nightmare. We called 4 companies and got quotes from all 4. We decided to go with this company because they took us step by step on what we needed and why. The others just gave us an invoice and left. I was worried about the cost and more about the cost of getting a service call as soon as possible. They have excellent customer service giving reliable information of their service.
