I had 4 appliances break in one week, and the technician was very helpful in advising me what was worth repairing and what was a waste of money. \r \r The problem began when they booked an appointment between 1-5 to come back to do the repairs. The technician did not arrive for the appointment, and the office told me he had arrived but no one was home....and I was home the whole 4 hours!\r \r So we booked a second appointment, and the technician was again a no show. Again I wasted 4 hours waiting!\r \r I booked a third appointment. I called 2 hours into the 1-5pm window and was told the technician was on his way. Guess what? No show again. \r \r 2 days later I got a call letting me know the part had just arrived and asking when would I like to schedule my appointment! \r \r Excuse me! Why did they schedule the previous 3 appointments? \r \r As I was waiting at the 3rd no-show, I called another repair shop, gave them the make and model of the appliances. They were able to order the parts and install them before Appliance Doctor called me to tell me their part was finally in. \r \r Appliance Doctor has terrible service. The office staff have no idea what has happened and each time you call you get a different 'explanation'. \r \r Their customer service is terrible. There is no reason to use them. \r more

This operations is horrible. First they come out and tell us one thing is wrong with our washer. We begged to differ and told the technician that the rubber door boot was the problem. So, the tech goes and orders the part he wants and it what happens...the door boot collapsed three days later. Long story short, we waited for four hours for them to show up and when they never did. We call them the next day and was told oh, we called you, but you didn't call us back with in 15 minutes. Are you kidding me! I allotted an entire four hours from my day to pay you $300 and you don't show up because I didn't call you back within 15 minutes...I'll tell you what you, keep your part and your technician ""part changer"" and have a nice day!!! more

All I can say is BOO!!!!!!! It has taken them 6 weeks to fix my dishwasher. I called the office today and was told to expect them after 4. Knowing this information I took a shower and missed a call saying to call them back within 15 minutes. I called them back in 24 minutes and they cancelled my appointment even though I had been in contact with their office moments before their call. The first appointment I had with them they were 2.5 hours late and I didn't say a word. Maybe the 4th visit will be a charm but so far I am far from impressed. It makes me wonder how good businesses fail in a good economy while poorly managed businesses like this treat you like Sh#t and succeed. I will never ever do business with this company again. more

Incompetent Idiots 4/30/2012

I had never heard of this company until Lowes sent them to repair my refrigerator that was under warranty. The only thing positive I can say about my experiences with them is the fact it was covered under warranty so I didn?t have to give my money away for nothing! Here?s my experience with them??The freezer wasn?t defrosting properly, the temperature button wouldn?t adjust and the ice kept clumping in the back. 1st visit- they said the fridge wasn?t level, so they leveled it and said it would fix everything. (Really, it?s going to fix the broken button, frost problem and the ice from clumping?) 2nd visit the technician put caulk around the freezer door and said air was leaking into the freezer, which was causing the frost problem and the ice to clump (It made sense except I couldn?t understand why the ice was only clumping in the back; if air getting in wouldn?t it cause all the ice to melt, then refreeze), he also ordered a temperature button. 3rd visit-after waiting a week for the button they came to install it, but the ice was still clumping up in the back and when he left I saw the new button, but now I still couldn?t adjust the temperature because it just spun around.(I guess since it was stuck before he felt he fixed it!) I was so upset at this point I decided to call someone else to look at it and tell me what the REAL problem was. When the other company looked at it; he said caulk shouldn?t have been put around the door because if air was getting in the seal around the freezer should have been replaced. The ice was clumping because part of the water line in the ice maker was leaking onto the back of the tray (made sense, it was leaking on some of the ice and then refreezing) and the temperature button was spinning around because the panel it attaches to needs to be replaced. He took it off and showed me the tab that had been broken off and also told me the previous tech had broken it since before he came the button was stuck. I called Lowes today and insisted they have another company make the repairs done right the 1st time. If you are under warranty and they have any other company that does work for them, pick the other company! If you are paying out of pocket for the repairs save yourself money and hassle and call another company! If you are under warranty and this is the only company they use to do repair work be prepared to deal with the headache! They might be able to fix it eventually, but I promise it will take multiple trips with many misdiagnoses before it?s done right! more

Sadly in this economy, not very reliable 12/19/2011

I wish I had known prior to my purcahse that the maker of my high-end appliance used only Appliance Doctor of Ladson as their local warranty contractor.\r \r Every word of every negative review I have read about this little business is exactly as stated. (As for the one positive I read, and that in itself took some time to find, I have come to the conclusion it must have been written by a family member, a good friend, or just a plain fluke.)\r \r On their site, the BBB has Appliance Doctor of Ladson rated as an ""F""....amongst the reasons is it is stated they do not belong to it. I can see why. Each trip to service my appliance consisted of something new-- the technician(s) did not have the proper tools, did not have the proper skill sets, or had the wrong part through improper diagnosis and, indeed on the last trip, did leave my appliance in a worse condition than when they started. Even my trying to work around the problem met with failure because Appliance Doctor, through their inability to dismantle a specific part, ended up taking a whole assembly with them-- along with a key part that didn't need to be removed, thus not allowing for hook up of a temporary replacement. This is going to add to an already lengthy delay, and one that is magnified by the holiday and the inconvenience that will now occur through their poor service.\r \r We have since contacted the store where we bought the appliance and have been offered (after ""indepth"" discussing of options) a totally new replacement appliance as soon as possible, and one which is not serviced by this business. I honestly can not accept ANY repairs made by Appliance Doctor at this point and point-blank refuse to do so, nor buy any more appliances that rely on them for servicing. \r \r It was mentioned to the store manager that they might take into concideration they are starting to become known around the area for having poor customer service and questionable warranties because of incidents such as this with Appliance Doctor . Not really good press for an appliance store in this economy. Funny how little comments can make such a difference when trying to remedy a problem. \r \r Anyway, I give Appliance Doctor of Ladson one star at best. The rule of telling two friends, who tell two friends, who tell two friends of their capabilities, or lack of, applies at this point . Sorry. more

Worst Experience- Name Change-Appliance Junkyard. 7/6/2011

I am not sure how this business continues to get customers. I have an LG Washing Machine and was informed by LG they were the only authorized dealer in the area. After 4 weeks of working with them they still weren't able to fix my machine. Each visit the technician would come out ""attempt"" to diagnosis the problem-order yet another part and then schedule a time to install the part. After the 3 rd part not working....I was frustrated and felt like they didn't know what they were doing. The last visit the technician stated he would have his manager call me that day as I was unhappy that I had taken off work again and this time they ordered yet another ""wrong"" part. The manager never called me back and I even attempted to call the store but apparently they don't answer calls in the afternoon. It has been a week since they were supposed to call me. I decided to move on and buy a new washing machine that could be serviced by anyone else other than Appliance Doctor. I ended up buying a Whirlpool and already inquired about options for service. I actually loved my LG washing machine but refuse to purchase any more of their products until there is another authorize dealer. Appliance doctor really needs to rethink their name- maybe appliance junkyard. more

How is this person still in business? 8/5/2010

If he is an appliance doctor I hope he has some healthy mal-practice insurance. Got a requistion number from the manufacturer (Electrolux/Frigidaire) for free replacement part. All I needed was an approved repairman to look at it and order the part. They came right out and took $105 for the service call and said the part would be there next week and they'd be there to install it. That was 2 months ago. Avoid this place like the plague. They won't return calls, rarely pick up the phone and always have something to say like ""I'm really going to dig into that and I'll get back to you"". more

Warrantee service is HORRID 7/2/2010

I purchased a used refrigerator with a 30 day warranty, it has not worked in 30 days the service man has been there 2times, to contact this group is almost impossible you will be referenced to a cell phone, after multiple(at least 100 calls-HINT-use multiple numbers as they will not answer a know number) calls(most not answered with no V-mail). Mr Abernathy(sp) was the agent and seems to be honest however once the deal is done he has no time for you. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME YOU WILL BE SORRY FOR EVEN CONTACTING THIS GROUP. Pros: good at taking yor money and running Cons: Refuse to return calls-Refuse to honor any warrantee more

Worst Company- Hands Down- No Service and No Manners! 12/11/2009

We have an extended home warranty for our dishwasher. We called and had AHS set up an appt for someone to check out what was wrong with the dishwasher when it quit working. Our appt was set for a Friday from 9-12. The tech still had no shown up by 1:00, so when I called, he said he had made a mistake and would be out there before 5. He arrived at 5:30. We needed a new motor and he said he would call it into AHS and get us one ordered, it would take about a week. I thought he meant for the part to come in. Apparently he meant for him to call in the service order. Once he finally did get the service order called in, and the part did arrive, they decided they needed to store some extra parts around their shop, because they kept the part for a month. It took me calling asking for status of the motor that was ordered before they finally told me they would be out that Saturday from 9-10 to install the motor. Saturday morning came and went and again, no tech showed. I called and was told they were able to make it that day, and would call me the following week to reschedule. Only when I raised enough cain did the tech finally show up around 5:30 again. He was rude and unprofessional while at my house. I thought we were done with the whole mess, but no, the tech did such a bad job installing the motor, he caused more damage than good to our dishwasher. We started having electrical surges through out our house. We knew it was the dishwasher, b/c they stopped when we flipped the breaker. When AHS set up an appt for them to come back out and see what the problem was, again, they didn't show. I called to see what was going on and the dispatcher for the company (not AHS, but AD) hung up on me and told me I was a liar about what time my appt was schedule. Finally I got AHS to agree to send out another company to fix the issue and not only did they show up right on time, but they found that AD had caused at least two leaks in our dishwasher from installing the motor, had left the wire exposed and the water was leaking on the wires. This caused the control panel to short out and probably damaged the new motor as well. Had we not flipped off the breaker, we probably would have had an electrical fire in our house and once again our dishwasher does not work. The only good from this whole issue is that I am finally getting a new dishwasher. But I promise, I will make sure no one I know uses Appliance Doctor or ABAC- since they go by both names again! Pros: I am getting a new dishwasher now. Cons: too many to fit into ths small space. more

Go elsewhere for service!! 2/16/2009

I have an extended warranty for my washer and dryer with Lowes and apparantly these people are their ""service provider"". They DID actually show up when they were supposed to but that's where the good stuff ends. The technician was clumsy and rude. He did NOTHING to fix the problem and had the nerve to tell me there was nothing wrong with the unit. WHAT?? The agitator barely moves. I know what it's supposed to sound like and act like and this was far from it. When he was leaving he told me since I was not happy with the way it was acting that he would go ahead and order a new motor and circuit board for it. Why in the world would he do that if there was nothing wrong with it? At this point, I am tryong to get someone else to handle the work. Lowes was very apologetic and I think they will be looking elsewhere for someone to do their warranty work. Pros: Showed up on time. Cons: Everything else. more

Bad service & bad manners 12/28/2007

We found the Appliance Doctor on a manufacturers list of authorized dealers. What bad luck that I called them. Pros: I'm a fair person ... but there are none I can think of Cons: Unprofessional & unreliable behavior and service throughout more

Bad service all the way around. 8/6/2007

After trying to get our 7 month old dryer fixed through Appliance Doctor, we finally gave up and went with another local company Eurotechs. Appliance Doctor took too long to come and see our problem in the first place, then when the parts came in, they canceled our repair day due to a technician problem, rescheduled us not for a day later, but a week later! Then called again on the second scheduled date with another technician problem and wanted to reschedule yet again!!!!! Who has ONE technician!???? The were not helpful on the phone, and were not concerned at our unhappiness with this service. They have parts in hand, and just can't get someone to our house to fix it. We already had a new dealer check out the dryer, and parts have been ordered. This company repaired our dishwasher with speed and friendliness, so I am sure the dryer repairs will be the same. If you want good service, you won't find it at the Applicance Doctor. Pros: Don't let the cute name fool you. There is ONE technician for the whole community - service is hard to come by. more
