Worst company I have had to deal with. My Maytag does not work properly. I have had three repairmen and they blame me...i.e leave door open wider so it can get more air.....make sure the accordian is straight....there is no problem. The last man had an allergy to cats and when I suggested he leave and call someone else he replied he would complete his inspection. I had an appt. with another repair person and they never showed up from wind service and no call. When I called customer service at Maytag theycheck and said that the last man said there was an odor and that it was unsanitary and no one else should be sent to me. They never called to tell me this and I waited inside my home an entire. day. My home is very clean and we do have cats and anyone with an allergy would smell them. We clean our cat boxes 3 times a day and our home is cleaned professionally every week. The people at wind service cannot find the problem so they blame the consumer and keep putting ""no problem"". They should be put out of business and I will eventually report them to better business bureau once I finish trying to get my Maytag repaired. more

Not one to complain but I clearly explained my problem to Wind service and twice they showed up without proper parts. Are you kidding me? This company makes there money on people who buy extended warranty's and are stuck using them because anyone with a half of a brain reading Winds reviews would go elsewhere. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/8/2013

I'm not usually one to complain, but Wind Service lacks completely in service. My largest problem with them is they will NOT tell you, even a time window until the morning of the appointment! Which essentially means you have to take the entire day off work to wait for them. Even the cable company doesn't do that anymore! I know they must know who they are seeing before 8am. I was told by an employee that it is more efficient for them to plan their route this way. I'm sure it is, but it is horribly INEFFICIENT for customer. \r My second problem is that they showed up to install a replacement cook-top, but failed to bring the proper materials to do it. Now I have to wait for another appointment and another day off of work for them to plan their efficient route. more

If you have ANY choice WHATSOEVER...Stay away from this company. Their so called expert who proclaims to be their senior employee is incompetant and doesn't listen to the explanation of the problem. Isn't that the key to recieving good service? Could not get anywhere with Howard (manager??) Was not able to swich to any other serviceman and warranty company uses Wind for service in my area SO I'M STUCK!!!!!!\r The person who fields calls in their office was the only pleasant person I've dealt with thus far.\r I'm going on my 4th appointment and still no resolution.\r A head banging, blood preasure raising, frightening, beyong FRUSTRATING experience!!!! more

I made a service appointment for 5/30/2012

I made a service appointment for Tuesday after Memorial Day. The person at Wind Service was polite and efficient. The service man showed up when he was supposed to and was neat, pleasant and competent. He fixed my Maytag dryer in less than 1/2 hour and could not have been nicer. I would definitely call Wind Service again and would disagree with anyone who said anything detrimental about their attitude or performance. more

Fridge Repair 4/6/2012

***BUYER BEWARE*** They were the (1st) repair service that was sent by the manufacturer. The initial tech that showed up, came in his own car. We must say, he was very nice and professional. Was with him the whole time and he explained every step. Took him all but 1 min to open up the rear, plug something in the back, heard the same humming and buzzing, and told me it needed a compressor. Said they would order the part and his company would call me later in the day or the next to set up an appt.Never heard from them! Decided to call them myself on Monday. This is where the fun begins! A sales rep gets on, and tells me, they need a deposit to pay for the compressor. I explained I had a full warranty and I shouldn't have to pay for anything. Then he started to stutter and mumble, and told me to hold on. At this point I got the feeling I was about to be taken for a ride. The next guy gets on, saying he's the manager, and tells me that after realizing the compressor was bad, the tech started to look around to see was caused the failure, and realized the water lines were rusted, which in turn caused the compressor to fail. He stated that corrosion is not covered, and although they tried to get the warranty to cover it, the company still denied the claim, and I needed to give them a (large) deposit for the repair. I proceeded to call the company, which told me they never denied the claim, they approved it! After explaining the story to them, they sent out another company instead, which came, checked it out, and said ""no problem, we'll fix it!"" If your company sends Wind, do yourself a favor and do not let them in your house, as they will scam you out of extra money! more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE 11/11/2011

Contacted KitchenAid October and was set up with an appt with Wind Service for an 8a-12p appointment to replace a broken track. They showed up at 4pm on Monday. Looked at the machine and said, yes, it needs a track. So they were supposed to return on Monday, between 12p-3p AND they were supposed to call me on my cell phone prior to coming. When I called at 2:30p, the time was changed to 1p-4p and I was assured he would call prior to coming, he had 3 stops before me. When I got home from work at 5:30p, there was a message on my home phone at 3:30p. I called on Tues Nov 8 and complained that he never called my cell and I was assured that he would call me- on my cell For my Fri appointment, the office called me at 9a on my house phone to tell me my appt was 12-3p. Then called my house at 10am to tell me he could be as early as 11:30am. I was NOT home, but left someone to wait. At 12:30pm, he came and tried to install the track, but broke something else having to do with the track and has to come back next Friday, to fix that. Then he said it was good that the part was under warranty. He said was being honest, and could have said that the part was broke before. HA, can you believe that? He breaks another part and wants credit for being honest! He also said NO ONE ever gave him my cell number NOR did they tell him to call me PRIOR to coming. I cannot believe this company!!! more

Irresponsible 9/26/2011

We had a refrigerator with a broken water dispenser that was still on warranty from Whirlpool, so I used ""Wind Service"" as a service company. They are absolutely irresponsible, technician arrived and said that they need to order refrigerator door and it would take 4-6 weeks. Fine, waited 6 weeks and than called them, on the phone they are sweet , promise to call you back, we called them total of 8 times, same answer that it is ordered and ""Purchase Manager"" would call back. Of course no one bothered to call back Finally after 8 months I got Whirlpool to replace the fridge. more

BEWARE: Nasty and unprofessional! Verified! 9/23/2011

Had an appointment , no one showed so we called and they said someone came to my house and nobody was home. Just as the other post, they ring & run! There were three people home. No effort at all made to let us know he was there. When I said we are home on the phone, you then get the nasty receptionist. You can feel the attitude right thru the phone. I then found them online here..read the reviews..called them back & cancelled the RE-APPOINTMENT. I believe! more

BEWARE: Nasty and unprofessional 9/13/2011

We have a recalled cooktop which turns itself on (potential fire hazard). The company which is in the same town as us sets up an appointment with us. We ask for the END of the day because we work in the City. Well they call the night before to leave a message on my husband's cell phone telling us we have a 10 AM appointment the next morning. My daughter remains home from work to let the serviceman in. My husband calls the company to tell them YES someone will be home. In the time it took my daughter to put the dogs out in the yard and answer the front door, she WATCHED the serviceman DRIVEWAY! Not eve a call to say ""hey we are here please open the door"". Called the office and the rude girl who took the call refused to send the serviceman back to our home and they expect us to live without the cooktop for another week. I guess this is their good business practices when it's a ""freebie"" because of the recall. Shows you how concerned they are for peoples saftey. BEWARE - Too bad I had to give it 1 star. They deserve none. more

I had great service 8/5/2011

Guess I got lucky dave came to me fixed my broken part in about 5 minutes...he saw the error code I gave them when I made the appt and brought the right part upfront. Very courteous, explained everything. Guess I got lucky got their best repairman! more

Nice People, Poor Customer Service 7/1/2011

The service technician and the people on the phone are very nice.\r \r However ""providing service to people, not just machines"" should not be their motto.\r \r They have been to my house on 3 separate occasions to repair my freezer. Twice with the wrong part. There is a problem with the parts supplier and we will call you back in one or two days. That was two weeks ago. I called again and was promised a callback last week. No one has called.\r \r It is almost a month since they first came here. \r \r Why do I have to call them to follow up? Shouldn't the onus be on them to keep the customer up-to-date? Even if there is no resolution yet couldn't they just call to say we are working on it and we haven't forgotten you? They are very nice on the phone and that's where it ends. Cesar B. where are you?? more

Horrible Horrible Horrible 5/18/2011

Don't do business with these people. The people answering the phones give you false information and tell you that ""someone"" will call you back with an update on the repair. It's been 3 weeks and haven't received a call back. I have to keep calling and complaining and get nowhere. Anyone have any suggestions to get my air conditioner back before the heat in my place kills me? more

Horrible Experience 4/27/2011

I really wish I had read these reviews before I allowed this company into my house. They didn't do anything but piss off my husband and try to get money from us for a product that is under warranty. Then he left my house with an attitude. I would strongly recommend not using this company. more

A TOTALLY PERFECT JOB 3/29/2011

My experience with Wind Service was just fine. I called on a Monday and a very knowledgeable person named Dave was at my house the next day to repair my oven' s ignitor. They called when they said they would and showed up as promised. Now my oven works fine -Very Happy. more

DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY 3/8/2011

UNPROFESSIONAL, TRUST THE OTHER REVIEWS COMMENTS THAT RATED THEM POORLY. THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE DEFINITELY POSTED BY THE EMPLOYEES OR FRIENDS/FAMILY OF THE COMPANY. I NEVER DEALT WITH SUCH A UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE/REPAIR GUY. YOU WOULD THINK HE WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR THE PRODUCT HAVING DEFAULTS SO HE WOULD HAVE A JOB TO COME IN AND REPAIR THE THING. BUT NO, HE ACTS LIKE HE'S DOING ME A FAVOR BY BEING THERE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CALL THE NEXT SERVICE COMPANY ON THE LIST. more

Unprofessional, Do Not Trust Them. 12/3/2010

I have a Jenn-Air electric smoothtop range, on 9/22 I called customer service because one of the burners was not working. I was told by the manufacturer that they've made a schedule with ""wind service"" for the repair job the following day.A person came in on the 23rd of September. He looked through the dark glass top for 3 seconds and told me that the whole burner needed to be changed. Since he didn't have the part, he told me that he was going to order one and that he will call me when the part arrived around a week later. I thought, ""one week is not that bad, I could wait."" Even though when I had the other burner changed 6 months ago with a different company, it took only 3 days for the ordered part to come, and the very next day, my range was fixed. 3 weeks passed by, but not a single phone call came to me from them. Finally, I called them, they told me they were still waiting for the part, so I needed to call them again the following week to see if they had it or not. I called again the following week, and I was told that the guy was coming in on that Thursday. The guy came with a wrong part and told me that they need to reorder it and then left. Again after a long wait without a word, at the beginning of December, I called them. The woman who answered the phone told me that somebody would call me back before the end of that day. I have yet to receive any contact from them. I finally called Jenn-Air and they hired the company that fixed my stove the FIRST time. The other company was truly professional, ordering the part and fixing my stove within a week. Jenn-Air was so disappointed at Wind Service inc that they compensated me by providing the parts (and service) free of charge. more

Wind Service has been on Long Island and servicing Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk for over 50 Years. We work along side most major manufacturers and many local dealers to perform service in warranty, in contract and out of warranty/contract. Our customer database holds more than 70,000 separate addresses to customers we have serviced. Having said that, we can assure you we know who the unhappy customers are. While any service company can tell you there will be customers you cannot make happy, and there are times that the circumstances (back order, manufacturer defect, etc) cannot be avoided, we take all customer complaints serious and try our best to redeem ourselves to them. Sometimes it doesn’t work. Sites like this will allow them to vent their frustrations, while not attracting the happy customer to write a story. We are and will be in business for many years to come as a result of our reputation nationally and locally within the industry and our 60 to 80 customers who will see one of our technician each day. We are here and we are ready and able to take are of your appliance repair needs with the most experience and lowest cost in the area. We promise. Thank you for your time. more

Don't Deal with Them 4/14/2010

Frigidaire recommeded this company to perform warranty service call on my stove. The service tech who came out was rude, had no manners, and made comments about fires are caused by home owners not my appliances or by wiring. Being a family of firemen for many years and having a small child and just having exp a fire in the home not such a smart thing to say to homeowner. After asking the service tech not to order the part and leave my home the glass shows up at my home, the company calls my husband. I call the office to ask why they are calling me asked to speak to the manager ask why the service scared my child by saying we causing the fire he tells me that i am saying his tech isnt retarded and he will not service us, we dont even want or need his service. He needs to call Frigidaire we never wanted the service from day one when I asked him to leave, they never were on the same page. We had explosion we never would hook up same stove in my house again. But they seem not to understand that. Service company felt it was safe telling me it was, but I would never agree that. They are the worse company. They could be put out of business. Fire marshell would like to see the house they service to see if they are safe. I could think some have voliation. I feel bad for homeowner would use this company- I would make sure their service guys are lics and update before using them and allowing them in my house. Check their paper work. After making comments like they did to me. Be ware-Be careful. You never know who coming in your house. Funny part he want me to allow him to put my gas on. Best Part he tells me you could of used the top of your stove National grid should of never turn you off. National grid removed my pipe completely-And turn off the gas to the stove for reason and he's a service teach that's sad and he wanted me trust him. Let me think-Be careful with Wind Service. Pros: NONE :( RIGHT FROM THE MIN THE SERVICE MAN OPEN THIS MOUTH Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT THE COMPANY more

Great Service 8/3/2009

Not sure what happened to the other reviewers but my experience was fantastic. I called on a Friday and a very knowledgeable person was at my house, the next day, on Saturday morning to repair my washing machine. They called when they said they would and showed up as promised. The needed parts were on the truck and my washing machine was fixed within the hour. They even had time to look at the dishwasher, no extra charge!!!! more
