Wind Service has been on Long Island and servicing Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk for over 50 Years. We work along side most major manufacturers and many local dealers to perform service in warranty, in contract and out of warranty/contract. Our customer database holds more than 70,000 separate addresses to customers we have serviced. Having said that, we can assure you we know who the unhappy customers are. While any service company can tell you there will be customers you cannot make happy, and there are times that the circumstances (back order, manufacturer defect, etc) cannot be avoided, we take all customer complaints serious and try our best to redeem ourselves to them. Sometimes it doesn’t work. Sites like this will allow them to vent their frustrations, while not attracting the happy customer to write a story. We are and will be in business for many years to come as a result of our reputation nationally and locally within the industry and our 60 to 80 customers who will see one of our technician each day. No one needs aggravation like this... 9/15/2008

Our experience with this company started on Aug 13 with an air conditioner repair service call. Technician told us that a new ""board"" was needed for our less-than-a-year-old AC unit. He would order the part and get back to us. We heard nothing. I called a month later, on Sept 12, and was told that now it needed to be brought into their shop. Didn't make me feel good. I told them that I'd like the board replaced in our apartment as originally planned. They would check with the tech and call me back. No call. Monday I called them and was told it had to go to their shop. I asked how long they would have it if they did take it, and John, the manager, refused to give me even a window of time, i.e., less than a month, no more than two weeks. He refused. When I pushed, he hung up on me, not before saying ""don't you have anything else better to do?"" Clearly, we will not be using this organization. Happy and Washing! 8/28/2008

I have a KitchenAid Dishwasher under the first year of warranty which stopped running and left lights blinking and buzzing. I called the Manufacturer (Whirlpool) which in turn scheduled me with Wind Service for the following week. (still the first appointment available with any available company) On my scheduled day, the technician showed, as I was told, within the time frame given. While I can't say I was happy to learn I needed a control board which was not on the truck, I understood it isn't possible to have every part on the truck. However, I was called 4 days later and was rescheduled to finish the repair the following day. The call was finished and I am completely happy with my experience with this service company. I found the staff helpful and actually felt they wanted to help me. I would certainly recommend Wind Service and already have a new appointment scheduled for my Frigidaire freezer, which is out of warranty. To be continued............. STAY AWAY FROM WIND SERVICE 8/1/2008

WOW CAN'T BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE ARE STILL IN BUSINESS AND MUCH LESS A RECOMMENDED SERVICE CO. OF WHIRLPOOL. WHIRLPOOL PLACED THE SERVICE CALL FOR ME BECAUSE THE PUMP ASSEMBLY MOTOR ON MY CALYPSO WASHER WAS RECALLED. THE SERVICE CALL WAS TO REPLACE THE RECALLED PART. THE ORDER HAD A PART NUMBER ON IT AND EVERYTHING. WELL THE TECH SHOWS UP A WEEK AFTER THE CALL WAS PLACED WITHOUT THE PART. OBVIOUSLY, THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO SO HE LEAVES. I CALL THE SERVICE MANAGER , JOHN, WHO INSTEAD OF BE HONEST WITH ME AND TELLING ME THAT THEY MADE A MISTAKE TELLS ME THAT HE KNOWS NOTHING OF A RECALLED PART. THIS AGGRAVATES THE HECK OUT OF ME AND I LET HIM KNOW THAT I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING LIED TO. HE GIVES ME SOME STORY ABOUT HOW HE IS 70 YEARS OLD AND I SHOULD RESPECT HIM. I TELL HIM THE MINUTE YOU LIE TO ME AND TRY TO MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME RESPECT IS GONE. HE THREATENS ME AND TELLS ME THAT HE WILL HANG UP ON ME AND I CAN CALL ANOTHER REPAIR COMPANY FOR SERVICE. I ASKED FOR HIS MANAGER AND I WAS TOLD THAT HE WAS THE ONE AND ONLY ONE IN CHARGE. IF THAT IS TRUE IT IS NO WONDER WHY THAT SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRIBLE. fustrated customer 7/31/2008

After reading these other reviews it shocks me that this business is still running. Talk about not being proffesional. Isnt the whole idea to make people want to use your business. Not insult them, be rude,\r or act like your bothering them for doing there job. You people cant handle anything this is a desk job for petes sake. Try doing alittle labor Then you'll really see what a job is all about. I hope someone reads this and fires both of you more

Worst service ever! 7/15/2008

Frigidaire recommended this company to perform warranty service on our dishwasher. I called and the first appointment they had available was a week later, but so be it. On the day of the appointment, the technician showed up and decided without doing any diagnostic evaluation that the leak was caused by a defective gasket. He replaced the gasket, turned the machine on and decided it was fixed. Of course, actually waiting for the water to fill and then drain might have been helpful. When we ran the dishwasher, it naturally leaked again.\r \r I called them back within 3 hours of the repair man leaving and was told someone would return my call. Two days later, I still had not heard anything, so I called them again, and was told the same thing, again. Two days later, still not having heard back, I called yet again, and was told they would need to schedule another service call, and I could have my pick of days over a week later. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told I was speaking with one and this was all they could do. After pushing this very rude alleged supervisor, I was told that I was free to call any other repair company and then hung up on.\r \r If you are looking for poor service and even worse service, then these yahoos are perfect for you. But if you are looking to get your repair done properly and timely, look elsewhere...that is clearly too much for these folks to handle. Cons: horrible customer service, poor workmanship more

I purchased a service contract for my major appliances through PC Richard and when I had a problem with my washing machine, the call was dispatched to Wind Factory Service. When I called to discuss setting up repair with them, I spoke with ""John"" who claimed to be the manager. He told me that he had to order the part and when I tried to get an answer out of him as to how long it would take to get it... he got extremely rude and said 7 to 10 days. So, I called back 8 days after the part was supposedly ordered and of course it is still not in... I asked if he could track the part order to be sure that it is in transit and not back-ordered when I began with his rhetoric about how he has 8 phones to answer and when my part comes in I will get a call. I asked for his supervisor and he said he was the supervisor... What a detriment to customer service. So, the best advice I can offer you is, if you need anything repaired LOCATE ANOTHER REPAIR CENTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE WAITING FOR AN UNDISCLOSED PERIOD OF TIME TO HAVE YOUR APPLIANCE REPAIRED...
