Needed a plumber to fix our water heater. The part needed to repair the heater was no longer available and the technician went out of his way to help us. He suggested to call the manufacturer because he found out that the model we had experienced problems with the thermocoup. I took his advice and the company sent out a replacement kit free of charge. Another tech repaired the tank whenever we received the kit. Both techs were very nice and polite and took the time to help us. Also the office kept us informed of the expected arrival times. I was very satisfied with this Pittsburgh based Roto-Rooter. more

Had a clogged toilet. I could not un-clog it. Called R-R and shortly after phone call a serviceman arrived--Edwin-3070. more

Arrived home from work to find a clogged drain line that drained my downspout output as well as my sump pump which runs on the average of every 3 minutes. Every time the pumped kicked on, the water backed up and erupted like a geyser, seeping into the ground and penetrating my basement wall. I called Roto Rooter and was told they would be there withing the hour. Later I was called and told it would be longer because the technician was delayed on another job. It was 2 and a 1/2 hours later when he arrived and already dark, but he,John, was polite, personable, and told me exactly what would be done and quoted me a price. Called for leaking toilet. I live in a condo and the toliet seals into the wall. The plumber listened to my concerns and offered to double seal it to avoid any problems. He was efficient and very respectful of my home. The communication from the office regarding my service call was superb. In these days of poor customer service this company is a gem. Price was reasonable too. I would highly recommend this company. more

I live in Uniontown, Pa and I have had slow draining drains in the bathroom since I bought my house 13 years ago. I tried everything on the market with no success. Finally the drain blocked up completely and I decided I'd have to turn to a professional, so I called Roto-Rooter because they have been around as long as I can remember. A very courteous young man came and in about 15 minutes he had my drains opened and I have never seen them drain so fast. I wish I would have done this when I first bought the house. We live in a PITTSBURGH suburb, Mt. Lebanon. The PLUMBER arrived promptly within the window he promised and replaced the bathtub faucets with the new ones he purchased before coming over to our home. The week before, he visited our house and gave us a free estimate for the repairs, telling us we could choose the rebuild kit ourselves to save some money. Unfortunately, I picked up the wrong kit. He was very kind and waited in his truck while we returned the wrong merchandise to Lowe's. After we told him neither Lowe's nor Home Depot carried it, he felt bad for us and told us he would be at our house Monday morning with the correct rebuild kit. He patiently answered all our questions and gave us tips on how to conserve water. He was very professional, patient, and courteous. Thank you for a job well done! more

Arriving home from a very long day at work , I slipped into my PJs and had planned on relaxing the rest of the evening. ""Honey, the toilet is clogged and overflowing!"" my wife yelled frantically from the bathroom. I raced up the steps with my handy new-fangled plunger ready to tackle the problem. I immediately grabbed the shut-off valve and started plunging. I plunged for several hours with my ""guaranteed to work"" plunger to no avail. After a few hours and several blisters I gave up in utter despair. Sadly, the only thing flushed was my face and our pretty pink toilet overflowed with pride at my defeat. The next morning we called Roto -Rooter and they unclogged my toilet within 15 minutes! Magical! more

On March 9th I arrived home late around 9:30 PM only to walk from my garage into my family room to notice a large amount of water soaking my carpets. I immediately began to vacuum the water up but could not keep up with the flow. The odor smelled like faint sewage. I called a 24/7 plumbing company at 10:00PM. I was placed on hold for 3 minutes before I decided to hang up and try someone else. I was desperate to contact a plumber since I knew I would not be able to resolve the issue. The plumbing company on the adjacent page in the yellow pages was Roto-Rooter. I immediately contacted the company and talked with the operator. She was very pleasant and assured me that there would be someone available within 2 hours. Within 15 minutes, the operator called me back and stated that the technician was on his way and to expect him within the hour. Less than 45 minutes, around 10;30 ? 10:45PM, Joe Russo should up. He was very professional, explained the fees, what he and his trainee was going to do. He walked down my property, to determine the best way to approach the plugged drain. My home is locate approximately 100 feet from the city line. Joe first used the snake but due to the length and location of the plug, he had to use high pressure. I appreciated that he choose the lower cost method first. However, since he had to use the high pressure process, I was okay with the additional fees. The fees were reasonable and fair. As for the service, Joe and his Trainee, I believe his name is John was top notch. They were respectful of my home, took care of me as if I was part of Joe?s family ? like a brother. By the way, both of these guys worked through the rain and cold through the night. They finished around 1:30AM. Would I use Roto-Rooter again? Absolutely. Would I recommend Roto-Rooter to friends and family? Absolutely. I ranked this service at the highest level. I am in customer service as well and appreciate when my folks provide exceptional customer service. Nice to see that other companies and employees do the same. By the way, I do not know who answered the phone the night of the call but I would like to thank her as well. more

We are in the Pittsburgh area and we needed a plumber desperately...we had flooding in the kitchen and basement and sewage backing up. Joe Russo was the first person who came to the house and he was absolutely amazing. He made every effort to make us understand his perception of the problem, and assured us that he was not going to jump to the most expensive solution without exhausting all options. He worked and worked and explained everything along the way. The bottom line was that given his resources the problem was bigger than what he could solve. He made sure that someone who could solve the problem was scheduled for the next day. Bill Miller arrived the next day and was straight forward, professional, and empathetic with our situation. We have very limted money and could not invest the amount of money needed to completely address the issue. He and his co-worker, Mike Flynn, arrived promptly the very next day and did everything they possibly could to deal with the problem in a way we could afford and they did so professionally and persistently. All three of these professionals treated us with dignity and respect, and worked with our particular situation. Frankly, we were hesitant to call Roto-Rooter because of others' perceptions. Further, we are two women and always concerned that people in this field are going to perceive us as ""easy targets"" and rip us off. Our experience with this company could not have been further from this. We are so grateful for all three of these guys and their expertise....but more so even, grateful for their professionalism and respect for our situation. We would never hesitate to contact Roto-Rooter in the future, and would make a point to ask for these particular guys. They were truly heroic in their efforts, and we would never hesitate to recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone and everyone we know based on this experience. Thanks guys- you're the best! more

I have used Roto-Rooter as my plumber for many years -- I think they are the best plumbers in Pittsburgh. I have used them for all my plumbing needs. They are prompt, friendly and do an excellent job. Over the years I have had many problems that they have solved for me. Today I had a backed up bathrub drain and Marc had it open and operational in minutes. This has also taught me to use my Roto-Rooter Pipe Shield on a regular schedule. Last spring I had Roto-Rooter install a new water heater. This was a replacement of a water heater that I had installed by Roto-Rooter about 15 years ago. I completely recommend Roto-Rooter! more

We awoke to the unpleasant smell of sewer gas this morning and found a backed-up drain in the basement floor. We've had good luck with Roto-Rooter's in the past, so didn't hesitate to call them again. Jeff was at our front door withan an hour and a half and had the drain cleared in less than thirty minutes. He tightened a loose connection in a pipe under my kitchen sink and offered helpful advice on how to keep the bathtub drains clear since we have a houseful of folks with long hair. Overall, a great experience for something that started out so unpleasantly. Highly recommend this Pittsburgh plumber! more

Finding water and who-knows-what that other stuff was in the basement can be quite stressful. Thankfully, I had used Roto Rooter Plumbing in the past, so I knew exactly who I could count on to take care of the problem quickly and professionally. I had used another plumbing business in Pittsburgh before, but without going into detail I was beyond frustrated and disappointed with the service. I had an ongoing problem with my plumbing, I had backup of sewage in my cellar for weeks. At first I thought it was a problem on the water companys side, the water compant told me I had to hire a plumber to prove it was the citys fault. I did my part, I called VALLEY plumbing. These people came in,after a wait, charged me $225.00 and did not open my line and did not get me anywhere, the service was awful. I was back to square 1. I called ROTO-ROOTER plumbers, after listening to my situation, they came the SAME DAY, they not only gave me a discount, they ran the hydrojet through my lines, but they got the clog out. It was an awful mess, they cleaned it all up as if it never happened, they ran a camera FREE of charge through my lines to try and determine the problem. They took their time, they explained IN DETAIL every step they took and DID NOT take advantage of me. THESE PEOPLE WORKED EXTREMELY HARD FOR EVERY PENNY. I highly recommend if you have ANY PROBLEMS TO CALL ROTO-ROOTER PLUMBERS of PITTSBURGH. They solved a GIANT problem within minimal time and were so kind. Our Utility sink was backing up onto the basement floor on a Saturday. Jeff arrived and after an hour got the situation resolved. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. However, it was a little prices at $300 more

I had a clogged floor drain in my basement. I called to schedule an appointment on 1/5/2011 between 10:00pm and midnight. The plumber showed up around 11:00pm and took aprox. 1 hour to complete the job. It was kind of expensive @ 250.00 but the Plumber fixed the drain quickly. I would recomend this company to anyone in the Pittsburgh area. more

I had a clogged drain in the stack below the catch in my sink drain. I called to schedule an appointment at 1pm and they were at my house, near Pittsburgh, by 2:30. The plumber was very knowledgable and fixed the problem by snaking the line. All in all it took him 20 minutes to fix the problem. more
