The food is amazing – they have new executive chef and the drinks I had my office party in The Bungalow Club. the service was excellent, and the food was even better. To make th...

Worst

I can't believe this place is on any "best of..." list. The food is terrible. Went there one night about a year ago (maybe things have changed since?) started out with a sushi app...

Great Restaurant 11/18/2005

I went to the Bungalow Club for my husband's birthday and it was a beautiful restaurant. The bungalows give a very private feeling and romantic feeling as well and its really nice the only bad thing was the waitress completely got my order wrong instead of Cajun Alfredo with Jumbo shrimp she gave me a Cajun Jumbo shrimp with this weird tasting rice and it made me wanna throw up....i soo give the service low ratings but everything else was wonderful. I would definitely go back there and try it again. Pros: food, atmosphere Cons: service more

Looking Forward to My Next Trip 10/22/2005

The first time I went to the Bungalow Club I brought a friend for her b-day to the brunch on Saturday. Unfortunately, it was a bit rainy and cold so we stayed inside and didn't get a bungalow. However, inside was nice as well...beautiful decor. We got there right when it opened and were the only ones there for most of our meal. We had on pj's so we got free champaign, and they served my friend a cute little glass of strawberries and cream for her b-day. Food was just ok, but I look forward to going back when the weather is better and maybe try dinner. more

Great time 10/10/2005

We had a great time at The Bungalow Club. The food was really good, the drinks were extra tasty and the crowd was a good mix of people. we will definitely return for the drinks and the food. the place is highly recommended. Pros: Great time more

Worst management ever 10/5/2005

went for brunch (supposed to be their strong point)...waited 40 minutes for our food to come out when there were only three tables in the entire restaurant. when our food did come out, it was wrong. when our check came at the end of the meal, we were charged extra for things we shouldn't have been. were told by our waiter that there was NO MANAGER at the restaurant, and they were not able to take off the extra charge from our check that shouldn't have been there in the first place. what kind of people are running this restaurant??? horrible, will never go back or recommend to anyone. more

Brunch is a no go at this joint 9/23/2005

Even with reservations they were ill prepared @ 11am to receive any # of customer's. There was only one poor soul as waitress/bus girl/bartender etc. The place still had all the remnants of the Friday night crowd. The service was horrible (poor girl was alone), the food was cold and mediocre, and the atmosphere sucked. Perhaps around 1pm they'd be ready for brunch, because when we left around 1:30p there were finally some employees trickling in for work. more

the worst dining experience I've EVER had 9/21/2005

My friend had a birthday dinner here. It took 30 minutes for them to take our order. 30 minutes for them to get our drinks to us. 5 people NEVER GOT THE FOOD THEY ORDERED. Some got food when other people were already finished. Some got dessert before their entrees. The manager tried to blame the whole thing on us for "ordering wrong." He offered to comp us the food we didn't get. Duh. Then offered to give it to us to go. The food STILL NEVER CAME and they closed the kitchen. When the bill came, we sent the bill back and made them remove 200 dollars worth of stuff. And what's more, the food was substandard. All in all, I left this restaurant pissed off, and hungry. I will never go there again and recommend that you don't either. Cons: horrible service, substandard food more

Definitely check this place out! 8/14/2005

I would go to this place everyday if I could. The patio is great, the cabanas...so much fun. I loved the food...so delicious. Our server was sooooo cool. We felt taken care of. You gotta check this place out! Pros: The fodd, surroundings Cons: None more

Pretty good! 7/29/2005

This place is not bad at all. Friendly staff, good music, and pretty good drinks. Probably better to go with someone or a group, than alone (not dangerous or anything, just couldn't get a read on the socialbility of the other patrons). Lots of little nooks for groups to congregate. Worth checking out. Pros: drinks, music, staff Cons: parking more

a must go... 5/7/2005

its hard to find a place that lives up to its hype these days but the BC definately is all about what is advertised. the food is delicious!! and the servers are all friendly. the relaxing environment in their patio gives you the feeling that you're on a vacation. a group of us went their to celebrate my gf's bday and this place was just what we wanted: fun, happening, chill, good music. Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

musician 12/21/2004

To say the atmosphere and service is"highly recommended" is not enough. The music is fantastic and the servers and hostesses are the most beautiful in L.A. The food is great and moderately priced. Definitely the best place to be! more

best kept hush 11/13/2004

I've been in L.A. for six years and never have I stepped into a restaraunt and felt like I was on a mini vacation. a friend of mine recommended this place for a nice hang out . More like a get away. Away and out of the typical L.A. scene. Waterfalls, candles, earth tones, Wow. A menu that my date and I definatly appreciated the help from the prompt and courtious waitress in choosing A delicious dish. Finally a place that serve gourmet food with American portions. the Bungalow Steak was--N.Y. should be so jealous. My date Had the Salmon I did too. Didn't get to dine in a bungalow though, that's what I get for last minute. Reserve, Reserve, Reserve! This has got to be the best unkept secret in L.A. I know I'm not keeping my mouth shut. more

beautiful service and girls!!!! 10/25/2004

Very sleek and amazing atmosphere!! The food was phenomenal & service was awesome!! May I suggest the Filet mingon-melts in your mouth!!!! The owner Anat was very pleasant and accomodating. Thankyou for such a memorable experience!!!! I will definitely tell everyone and be back real soon. Also make sure you reserve one of the precious bungalows. Pros: beautiful atmosphere, reasonable prices, hot girls &service more

IT MADE OUR NIGHT! 10/13/2004

simply put, the bungalow staff made our night unforgettable. i originally made reservations for 11, but 25 people ended up coming (RSVP, people!!)! the staff accomodated us efficiently, graciously and effortlessly, without the attitude and tantrums. no one ever complained about anything, and everyone loved the atmosphere: hip enough without being pretentious, lowkey enough for intimate conversation. the food was awesome (i recommend the spicy tuna sushi and the hummus with mushrooms. also i hear the filet mignon was delicious) and the mojitos were refreshing and definitely had us all playfully buzzed. might i also mention that the food and drinks are priced between inexpensive and moderate? at any rate, we got so much for our money. we definitely will be returning. we can't say enough good things about this place. Pros: valet available, reasonable prices, excellent SERVICE more

Needs Improvement 10/10/2004

While the decor and ambiance are very nice, there needs to be more consistency (on the higher end of the spectrum) with the food, service and reservation policies. I reserved a bungalow, but was not told there is a 2 hour time limit for the bungalows. After an hour, my party was moved to another bungalow and told we could finish our drinks and food there. However, after about 30 minutes, a hostess advised us that we needed to move again. To make a very long story short, we refused to leave the bungalow advising several staff members that I had not been advised of the time limit when making the reservation and had already moved once. They finally agreed to allow us to stay in the bungalow until 9:30. The time limit is tacky, the food is inconsistent and the hostess was unprofessional. Pros: Decor, Ambiance Cons: , Food, Service more

Love It! 9/17/2004

I had reservations about visiting this place because the first thing they did to me was cancel my bungalow because the owner's family was going to be there. I thought, might as well give it a chance, and I'm VERY glad I did. We sat on the patio (no bungalow, but still very nice). Everything we ate, from the Hummus Appetizer (with a teriyaki twist), to the Mac and Cheese (some of the best I've had) was just scrumptious. Simple dishes, made with care and taste fabulous. And the service was great! Not to mention, you could hang out after a wonderful dinner and have a few drinks and enjoy the music in the lounge or go upstairs for a little more club feel. This little joint really does have everything and it's well worth it. Pros: Friendly Service, Great Food, Prompt Seating more

Loved It 9/12/2004

Great place. Went this past saturday and had a blast!!! The food was awesome. You have to try the Mac and cheese!!! And don't forget the chocolate martini! The girls were cute, the place was romantic. I will for sure go again!!!! And now they have a DJ upstairs so you can have dinner and go dancing all in one place. more

Good food 8/24/2004

Definitely call ahead and make reservations to be seated in the Bungalows for a great 1st date impression. I ordered the lamb which was marinated with mint leaves. I can honestly say that was the best lamb I've had. The potstickers for appetizers were delicious too. Order a (flavored) mojito for a good after work beverage. The waitresses here are REALLY cute too. I can't believe how little they charge for their food for how good it tastes. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Cute waitresses more

What a perfect Night! 6/5/2004

You have to check this place out. The food was great. Ambience spectacular and the service was just perfect. I had the best shshi I've ever had in LA followed by a steak that blew my mind. Talk about eclectic menu. This place has it all. 4 Stars. more

Get a Bungalow 5/12/2004

I took my girlfriend here for dinner and had reserved a bungalow. The food was average and the service was ok. The abience and people dining there however was great. I recommend people to try this place at least once and definitely reserve a bungalow. (Preferbly a non corner bungalow. The bushes get in the way.) Pros: Bungalow, Atmosphere, Valet Parking Cons: , Average Service, Corner bungalow more

  • In Short
This dual bar and restaurant brings two floors of Moroccan flair to the Melrose strip. Dangling metallic stars, leafy tropical plants and two trickling waterfalls create dimly lit intimacy in multiple lounges, topped only by the patio's candlelit bungalows. Electronica beats provide background for friendly conversation, romantic dates and the weekend's busy, easygoing singles scene. The Mediterranean-leaning international menu includes hummus, egg rolls, sushi and specialty martinis like the mint chocolate.
