I can't believe this place is on any "best of..." list. The food is terrible. Went there one night about a year ago (maybe things have changed since?) started out with a sushi app...

We Had a Great Time 11/9/2008

Food and people in a BBQ like ambiance make for a great experience. The lady who served us was probably 20, aspiring actresses, low cut dress and big smile. The food was good! Pros: Outside Patio: Fantastic! Cons: Dogs on Patio: Not cool! more

Great Service, Great Food 10/14/2008

Decent Happy Hour 9/17/2008

Check out the review of this and many other happy hours at: happiest hours(dot)blog spot(dot)com - no spaces between words, but City Search won't allow it any other way. Best deal - the entire martini menu is $6 (not just what's listed on the happy hour menu). Went there with a friend and we each had a martini (I had the pear ginger martini and his was dulce de leche) and both were fantastic and HUGE. I couldn't finish mine. We also had the chicken eggrolls ($5), avocado eggrolls ($5), which were both okay - a bit mushy, the mediterranean cigars ($5) which were very good, but the supposed "kobe" beef is just hamburger meat (and not a lot of it), and the calamari fritte ($8), which were great. For two of us, the total was $44 after tip. more

Pros: Food, Drink, Service Cons: We ate too much!!! more

Best for birthday party!!! 7/10/2008

Was at The Bungalow Club last night with my family for birthday party. It is perfect for groups, we had dinner and drinks. The service was great, beautiful atmosphere, great drinks, food, music. The sushi platter was very delicious.. Will be coming back for another great experience shortly. Pros: Service, Drinks, Food Cons: need to make reseravation more

overall ok 6/30/2008

My experience was pretty mixed. I went with a group of about 8-10 people for a birthday celebration. The place is easy enough to find but what's up with that creepy fenced off abandoned staircase right next to the entrance? They gave us our own little section in the Morrocan room but I found the seating was a little off. The couch by the window was close to the ground and really soft so you feel like you're almost in bed which made it hard to eat our appetizers. It also makes conversation with someone in a chair feel strange since you're looking up at them. Food wise, I love lamb i had to try their lamb lollipops. They were really lollipop sized but tasted pretty good. I'd recommend their crab cakes too. The drinks were mixed well but just took a while to get the bartenders attention. Pros: food, drinks, service Cons: seating somewhat uncomfortable more

Best Place To Have A Wedding 6/26/2008

We are still hearing from friends and family how amazing our wedding was, how great the food was and just how much fun they had. Anat and her staff made our wedding the most memorable experience possible. We had a wedding planner steal alot of our money. We walked into the Bungalow Club to see about the location and ended up having the wedding that we were supposed to. Thank you to the Bungalow Club and its staff. more

One of the better experiences I've had in 9 years of living in LA 6/16/2008

I've only been here once, but I really liked it. As an Af-Am, sometimes I have a tendency to be treated really badly when going out around Los Angeles by both patrons and staff. However, my friend and I had an extraordinary experience at this place. It started out where we parked about 4 blocks away, in a lot, and the lot attendant made a "special" space for us. That was very cool. Then, we walked down Melrose and my friend, a shaved-head white guy, had an idea. He wanted to watch the boxing match, and figured they'd have it on at the black barbershop about 2 blocks from the club. They did, and they invited us in there with open arms to watch the fight-although neither of us had hair!!!! That was spectacular. They were really nice people, and knew why we were there. Then, afterwards, we went to the club, where there were tons of prime time celebrities there, just standing around, drinking, having a good time. I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but THIS IS A GREAT TIME AND I'D HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO MOST PEOPLE. Even the waitresses are attractive, and they will attend to you in a very quick manner. They will not ignore any customers (at least that was my impression), and will even thank you for the tip. THIS WAS INCREDIBLE. Pros: Very little Hollywood pretension, in a place where it should be heavily expected. Cons: Few, unless I'm speaking too soon. more

Great Coconut Mojito 4/21/2008

Loved this place-- Trendy but not trashy, great "vibe" and even better drinks! I love my mojitos, and was surprized by the variety that they offered. Never had a coconut mojito before, but it was delicioso!! Parking is an issue, so carpool or taxi is best. Pros: Trendy but not pretentious Cons: parking is horrible, but what else is new?? more

great date night 4/17/2008

I love to search on citysearch and read the reviews before planning our next date night. The decent reviews and appearance led me to bungalow club, and we were pleased with the decision. Our food was wonderful, the atmosphere (we had a private bungalow) was nice, and our waitress made the night all the better. we really enjoyed ourselves. So far, by searching citysearch before going out, we have found wonderful places to dine. Pros: nice date spot more

Best Martinis and Mojitos!!! 4/14/2008

Great Happy Hour spot 4/14/2008

Went to Bungalow Club last week with co-workers and we had a blast. TDrinks were good and reasonably priced. Food was tasty too. The space is great for drinks and appitizers with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and the decor is a nice change for the LA norm. Plenty of free parking on their block too. Pros: Great drinks & food and good happy hour scene, not snooty more

Absolutely Amazing!! 3/28/2008

Great food, great ambience and amazing people. The Bungalow Club is a great place to relax after work, have a discussion on the patio with friends, screen your movie in front of 200 guests, watch some Stand-Up Comedy on Tuesday nights, or have a romantic date behind curtains on the booths located in the back. I've been to The Bungalow Club 3 times and each time it has been a joy. The bartenders are very friendly, good looking, and pour great martinis. You must try the hummus & mushroom with pita bread as an appetizer. My friend thought the hummus was so good, she started eating it with a spoon!! (I'm not saying to do that, but I'm just saying it's that good, ha!) I highly recommend The Bungalow Club. Anat, thanks again for an amazing experience. You were a joy to work with. I can't wait to be back!!! -Devon Q Pros: Great Ambience, Martinis, Friendly Staff Cons: none more

DISASTER, DISASTER, DISASTER 3/18/2008

My daughter wanted to celebrate her 19th bday at the Bungalow Club. I called a few days ahead to make a reservation for 24 people on Mar 17, 2008. When I arrived with a few of my family, the host said that he won't seat us until after everyone arrived. He said it a rude manner. I spoke to him after 20 min. to let him know that most of the party is there and if we can now be seated. He said that he would seat us in 2 min. 10 min passed and everybody arrived. I told him that I made the reservation for 7:00 pm and I don't understand why we cannot be seated. His response was - "your party had just arrived". It wasn?t like the place was packed and we had to wait for tables. Our table was ready and I don?t think it would hurt him if he just allowed us to seat and order our drinks. When he finally decided to show us our table, other people decided to seat there so he told them to move. When the other people moved, he didn't even ask the waiters to fix the tables, he just told us to take our seats. He placed us at the patio and to our surprise there was film that was going to be shown lasting for about 45 min. and the people in patio with us were there to watch the film. We really didn't care watching the film, the volume was loud, making it impossible for us to understand each other and to make things worst the actors were cursing which upset my sister because she had small kids with her. Another thing that upset me was that when I made the reservation I ordered three platters and I specifically requested it to be ready by 7:00 pm when we arrive so that we can start eating. The rude host apparently just placed the order when we were seated which took another 30 min. to get to our tables. It took them forever to just give us water. We have decided never to return. It would have been different if the host was at least nice and apologetic. Service terrible, food wasn?t great and the host needs to be replaced if the owners want to keep their customers. more

Highly recommende!!! 3/18/2008

Our son just had his wedding here and the venue was over the top. It should give any 5 star hotel a big run for their money. The Art Deco Ambience combined with the Fantastic Food and Service makes this place a real sleeper for elegant and spectacular Weddings or any event for that matter. Every detail was covered and we could not find any cons. Thanks so much to the entire staff for a job well done.!!!!! Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

DISASTER for parties, good for couples 3/6/2008

If you want good food for 2 people, go there. That's why we chose to have my birthday party there. IT WAS A COMPLETE DISASTER. This is NOT the place to go with 20 or more people. Totally disorganized staff, very, very rude management, scary crazy bouncers. Pros: good food for 2 people Cons: NEVER DO A PARTY HERE, they don't know how to handle multiple guests at once more

  • In Short
This dual bar and restaurant brings two floors of Moroccan flair to the Melrose strip. Dangling metallic stars, leafy tropical plants and two trickling waterfalls create dimly lit intimacy in multiple lounges, topped only by the patio's candlelit bungalows. Electronica beats provide background for friendly conversation, romantic dates and the weekend's busy, easygoing singles scene. The Mediterranean-leaning international menu includes hummus, egg rolls, sushi and specialty martinis like the mint chocolate.
