Worst experience at a spa 12/15/2011

I was so looking forward to my daughters visit from out of town and I booked pedicures at what I thought was a very nice spa. It was the worst customer service I have ever had. There was another customer who had just had a baby, which is a wonderful thing to celebrate, but all the attendants were gathered around her and totally ignored us for a long time. When they did come over to do our pedicures, the person doing mine went on and on very loudly about how dry and rough my feet were and they were the absolute worst she has ever seen and completely embarassed me in front of my daughter. I have had several pedicures before and since and have never been told that my feet are so awful. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what. I have never and will never go back nor would I recommend this spa to anyone. What a disappointment!! more

Great spa experiences 12/2/2011

Have used the spa several times during 2011 and been completely satisfied. Nice, warm, clean environment with curteous and helpful staff. Therapists are very good and inquire about any concerns. Waiting areas and locker areas much more spa like than other Nashville spas I have visited, including those which are more expensive. Facility is hidden in an outside mall in the Brentwood area and a little difficult to find, but once you get there, the search is well worth it. You will feel refreshed for the next week. more

Saturday Bliss 12/1/2011

Me and my husband had a couples massage on a busy Saturday. We arrived early and spent a few minutes in the steam room. Our massage therapists were friendly and professional. The massage lasted a full sixty minutes. They book extra time for changing so you don't lose any time. It was a wonderful way to spend our Saturday. We will be going back! more

Just what I needed! 11/30/2011

My life had been so stressful lately. My husband bought me a gift card and insisted that I go and relax. The front desk girls were so friendly and made me feel comfortable from my first step into the spa. I changed into a robe and put my belongings into a locker. I had a hydrotherapy body soak, a massage, a facial and a manicure pedicure. The soak was warm and so relaxing. I had a choice of male or female massage therapist, which was nice. My therapist was prompt and asked if I had any areas that needed attention. It was an all over magical experience. The facial left my skin soft and hydrated. I will be going back for waxing services. The pedicure was so enjoyable and my feet feel revived. My hands look great too. This will be a regular stop for me now! I can't wait to take my best friend back. They even have a steam room and a couples massage room. I'm so glad I took the time to go. more

Not impressed 10/13/2011

This spa is definitely not focused on customer service. They won't let you use gift certificates on anything other than full price services. Shouldn't gift certificates be the same as cash to them since someone gave them cash FOR the certificate???? Ridiculous. I bought some of their gift certificates for a few of my clients for Christmas last year and all of them have complained to me about that. Won't be buying gift certificates there anymore! Also, don't bother using the email address listed on their website........because they apparently never check it. Or if they check it, they certainly never respond. more

Worst Spa experience I have ever had 8/22/2011

If I could rate it in the negatives, I would. I have been to many spas throughout the US. It is by far subpar and doesn't deserve the name of a "day spa". It changed ownership in May and the new owner/President is a joke. Not only did the spa not deliver on a relaxing and joyous experience, his attitude regarding it was both unprofessional and in dire need of basic customer service etiquette. There was no relaxing time provided and the guests were to blame for not requesting this. The facility wasn't clean. The shower area was actually dirty from the last person that had showered. The floors were dirty. The reception area was cluttered. The staff was grossly untrained. Robes were not given prior to being shown the room. The experience was by no means a relaxing experience it was more of a "get them and out" mentality. I had visited countless times before new management and always given the option of a locker and relaxing in the tranquility room. This was NOT an option on this visit. I will NEVER return and always tell people to find another one and not waste their money. Keep your money!!! more

Awesome Massage!! 1/1/2011

I really enjoyed my massage appointment at Blue River Canyon Day Spa. Kevin did a great job and I was totally relaxed during my session!! more

Best spa in Nashville 11/23/2010

I've lived in Nashville for 5 years and have visited at least 5 spas. BRC is by far the best. It is the only place that gives a true spa experience. Unlike other places, you have the option of putting your stuff in a locker and changing into a robe. There is a tranquilty room for waiting before or between services instead of going back to the front lobby (like in 2 other spas in nashville). I got a package with a soak, massage, and facial. The tub for the soak was HUGE and they provided wonderful salt scrub and body wash. That lasted about 45 minutes before my massage with Paul. There was no wait between the two which was awesome. Paul is strong and applies a lot of pressure so if you like light massages, be sure to say that. My facial with Missy wasn't as comprehensive as other facials I've gotten (i prefer facials at Elysium), but she is very nice. After all three services, I chose to use the steam room before I ended my spa visit. Overall, i left feeling relaxed and pampered. I recommend it if you truly want a spa experience and not a series of individual services (where you get undressed, dressed, undressed, and dressed). The only down side is the price. They are not cheap. My package was $185 plus tips for two people. more

Perfection 11/11/2010

I have been going to Blue River for 4 years now. Kevin definitely gives the best massages. They are always able to squeeze me in if I need an appointment quickly and everyone is always very, very friendly. I highly recommend this spa! more

Loved this place! 10/21/2010

I did a full day here and it was fabulous! The facial, the manicure, and the pedicure were all great but I'd have to say that the best part of the day was the massage. Her name was Kelly and she was a tiny little thing but she sure did pack a punch! I will definitely be coming back soon. The only complaints I had were that they gave me water in a cheap plastic cup (tap water?) and that the girls at the reception desk could use a lesson or two in friendliness. Other than that, it was an absolutely perfect day! more

Great Gift...Great Spa 8/23/2010

I gave my wife a gift card to Blue River Canyon for Mother's Day for a day at the spa. When she came home from her day there, she was totally relaxed. She said her massage with Amber was awesome, that her facial was really relaxing and that her Stone pedicure by Lindsey was to die for...lol We would both highly recommend Blue River Canyon Day Spa for an awesome way to relax. more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE 7/27/2010

I DID NOT ENJOY THIS PLACE AT ALL!! I PAID ATTENTION TO EVERYONES NAMES THAT SHOWED ME AROUND. TO START OFF WHEN I CHECKED IN W/ THE FRONT STAFF THEY WERE ALL VERY RUDE TO ME, ESPECIALLY STEVE, THE MAN UP FRONT THAT HAS LONG BLONDE HAIR AND LOOKED VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. HE BARELY PAID ME ANY ATTENTION AND WAS FLIRTING W/ A WOMAN NAMED DENISE WHO WAS DRESSED WITH HER FAKE CLEAVAGE HANGING OUT. FIRST A GIRL TOOK ME TO A BATHTUB AND SHE WAS VERY RUDE AND LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, I BELIEVE HER NAME WAS MERIDITH. ALL SHE SAID WAS PUSH THIS BUTTON AND WALKED OUT. IT WAS COLD AND THE MUSIC KEPT SKIPPING THE ENTIRE TIME! THEN THE SO CALLED MASSAGE THERAPIST NAMED NEELY REEKED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE AND DID THE WORST MASSAGE EVER ON ME. SHE KEPT CHECKING HER PHONE AND STOPPING MY MASSAGE. AFTER THAT WAS OVER WITH I HAD A MANI/PEDI WITH RACHEAL. SHE ALSO REEKED OF SMOKE AND BAD BREATH. SHE WAS LOUD AND MADE INAPPROPRIATE CONVERSATION. THIS SPA WAS VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! Pros: LOCATION Cons: EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING more

Spatastic 6/21/2010

This was my 1st ever experience with a Spa and it did not dissapoint. I was really nervous at 1st because I weigh about 260 but once I was there I never once felt self concious about it. My 1st treatment was a saltglow scrub and tub soak. The lady that did the treatment was great. they do the front and back of your legs, arms, feet, hands and your back. When they leave you to get in the tub, if you would also like to apply the scrub to your front torso and behind so they aren't left out, they leave you a cup of the scrub to apply yourself, which I did. The tub was AWESOME. for me the only thing to make this treatment better would be to add some aromatherapy of somekind. When I was done I was escorted to the waiting area in the back. Couches were dreamy comfy and the sound of running water was nice and the light were low. It was however, kind of distracting, to hear people working out above, but the spa can't help that. The second treatment was my massage. It was wonderful. Their tables are even heated. They asked if there was anything in particular I wanted them to concentrate on and how firm I wanted the massage. I was a limp noodle when they were done. Back to the waiting area where I relaxed. They came and got me for lunch. It was in a small tea room and was nice, though my salad was missing some of the items that were listed on the Wild Iris menu. After lunch it was back in the waiting room. My next treatment was the facial. I was kind of dreading that part because I was afraid they would try to push all kids of expensive products on me but much to my plesant surprise they didn't. I had never had an actual facial before and it was VERY relaxing. Back to the waiting room. My next and final treatments were the manicure and pedicure. This was a treat, never thought my hands were worth the trouble but it was nice and the stone pedicure was dreamy. They had nice music and my person Gretchen was great and my feet look FABULOUS. I'll be back for a regular pedicure in the future. If I could add anything it would be some aromatherapy smells. It would also be neat if they offered a shampoo & blow out service. My hair was a mess but I was so relaxed I didn't care. I will go back! Pros: relaxing atmosphere, great employees, not pushy salespeople Cons: workout studio overhead more

Delightful Day Spa 6/10/2010

My coworkers recently gave me a gift certificate for Blue River Canyon and I'm very glad they did. A friend and I went together and we both felt pampered and relaxed after our facials and massages. I'm usually a bit of a skeptic about the virtues of facial treatments, but my skin did actually look better and felt less dry afterwards. The staff and service were excellent. My only complaint is that the arrangement of rooms makes for a little bit of hiking if you are having multiple treatments. more

Love services at Blue River Caynon 5/22/2010

I have been a customer at Blue River for years, and stop every time I'm in town, and have never had a bad experience,I always feel pampered, and experience total relaxation. This spa in my opinion is the best Spa in Nashville . Great place for being good to yourself. more

Not impressed 4/10/2010

The encounters I have had with the receptionists have not been the best. They are typically unfriendly, even rude at times. The waiting area is cluttered with magazines & products. The furniture feels old & dirty. The appointments I have had there have been okay, but the attitude of the front counter staff has made me decide to go elsewhere. I won't be going back or recommending it to anyone in the future, Cons: Rude receptionists, doesn't feel clean more

3rd time isn't the charm 3/30/2010

I have been to this spa 3 times now -- each time for a massage & using gift cards that I received. The first 2 times I wasn't impressed with the massuese at all but thought perhaps I was just unlucky. This last visit was the rock bottom. About 10 min into my massage, my massuese stopped the CD player & then couldn't get it to work again & spent a few minutes trying to make it work. My masseuse also brought in a gallon of water (in a milk jug no less) and stopped 2 or 3 times during my massage to get a drink so all I heard was gulp, gulp, gulp & the water sloshing. I only had him concentrate on my neck/shoulders for 1 hr so I should have been very refreshed but I wasn't. And after the massage was over, he knocked on the door after a few minutes & asked if I was done -- basically saying move it along out of this room. So this will be my last visit. And you would think with the spa being in an upscale Brentwood location it would be better. more

Not Impressed 12/23/2009

Showed up to the appointment about 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork. The entrance is alright but over run with products for sale. Filled out paperwork in the waiting area that has cheap outdoor furniture. Waited 15 minutes past my appointment time (so much for relaxing) and then inquired at the front desk. Opps, they forgot about me. Offered to provide part of my service for free but I didn't accept cause the "Spa" mood had went away. I'll stay with the Wood House Day Spa a few miles down the road. They rock and provide much better service without the frustration. Pros: Appointment Availablity Cons: Got forgot about more

Dissapointed 11/19/2009

My appointment was for a body (salt) scrub. I was expecting it to be full-body, but what I received was an arm and leg scrub. Appointment lasted for about 25 minutes. I may go back, but you can be sure it will not be for a "body" scrub. Pros: calming atmosphere Cons: incomplete service more
