I called Tipping Hat plumbing and Heating service my 8 year old furnace. The technician, Kris S. was professional, timely, courteous and friendly. He arrived on time, wore shoe covers and a mask. Kris kept me apprised of what he was doing and what he observed, showed me video of the inside of the furnace and the gunk he removed. Overall I would rate his service as FIVE stars. Corey and his colleagues did an amazing job installing a heating/AC split unit in our bedroom. In winter the room gets to be in the 50s no matter what the thermostat is set to, and in the summer it is regularly in the 80s. With a new baby just a couple weeks away we needed a solution to keep him comfortable. The team installed the unit quickly and beautifully and it has been working exactly as we hoped! more

My experience with tipping hat was awful! I will start from the beginning. Tipping hat received my information off a request I submitted online for a home humidity installation. My report with them started off well as they called me right away to set up an appointment to give me an estimate. They showed up to my home on time and the tech who came to my home was friendly and not pushy. He did however not remove his shoes in my home. My wife was not happy about that. The initial bid for the project was nearly double what my three other bids were for the project. The humidifier unit they offered in their pricing was one level down from all my previous bids Tipping hat wanted to use an April air model 600, everyone else quoted me with a model 700. I literally showed my other bids to the tech who came to quote me. He said that he would reach out to his boss to see if they would be able to price match and that he would call me back by the end of the day. He never called. I ended up responding to an email I received from Tipping hat the next day about some promotions that they were offering. My new point of contact was a women named Elizabeth Gray. I expressed my frustration over not hearing back from the tech, she apologized and stated that she would reach out to the president of the company to see what they could do. To make a long story short Elizabeth emailed me back and told me that there quoted price was the best they could do, she tried to offer me a “marketing discount” of $200 if I agreed to give them a 5 star review. After looking at the quote from Elizabeth more closely I saw that they removed the “complementary HVAC cleaning” from the new bid. There is the $200 “marketing discount” Elizabeth tried to hard sell me on the model 600 stating that it was nearly the same as the 700 but a better deal….No not true. I replied to Elizabeth to try and understand how they justify their pricing? what their hourly rate is? What they provided for the cost of service? I guess requesting information is to much to ask. Chris came out and got everything up and running or me and educated me on my whole house humidifier and showed me some things about my furnance that I didn't know. Tipping Hat did a terrific job for us after a sewer back up. We had used them before and had recommended them to our friends and co-workers based upon our positive experiences. They were prompt in coming to assess our situation and provide a temporary fix. Ultimately, we had to replace the main sewer line. Their guys came exactly on time, dug up the front yard with as little upset as possible and replaced every stone and brick that they removed. Excellent! We had Tipping Hat remove a bathtub and install a new one & also fix a leaking pipe related to the bathroom. They did a wonderful job, their team was super friendly and professional and they did what was needed to get the job done right which included having to find some replacement parts halfway across town. We thought there was a communication issue early on but discovered my phone was blocking their calls, which I felt horrible about. They provided reasonable and competitive quotes from the first visit and were very responsive about scheduling around our schedule and the holidays. Very happy with the whole team - Dan, Doug & Jordan dealt with a beast of a cast iron tub and got everything working correctly, and the office team was incredibly nice to work with. Would absolutely hire them again. more

Stay Away unless you want to be overcharged $8,000 to $10,000. If I could give ZERO stars I would I am in the market for a new Furnace and A/C. I am fairly well versed in my needs, what I want and the costs. I have a pretty simple install of an 80,000 BTU, 80% AFUE, 2-stage and variable speed furnace with humidifier and a 3 ton 16 Seer 2 stage A/C. I called Tipping Hat for a quote. A gentleman named Sean F. came out, walked my house then agreed with my assessment. He then sent me a quote that looked like this: ELITE: 96% / 20 SEER for $23,781 PREMIER: 96% / 17 SEER for $18,746 DELUXE: 96% / 16 SEER for $18,288 STANDARD: 80% / 17 SEER for $17,639 (near what I wanted) BASIC: 96% / 16 SEER for $18,288 There were no brands listed. No model numbers listed. No details as to tonnage or BTU's. Its like someone asking you to buy a car without knowing the Make/Model/Features/Engine size. I called Sean F. 2x's asking for more details. Crickets. I called Tipping Hat 2x's and asked them to have Sean F. call me to provide me more info. Crickets. To give you an idea of how much they over charge, I took Sean F's Standard 80% AFUE 17 SEER A/C (STANDARD) no brand name quote and had several other companies give me a quote on Rheem, Amana, Goodman, Lennox and Bryant. They ranged from $7,800 to $9,400 INSTALLED A magical savings of nearly $10,000 compared to Tipping Hat, and I know what I would be getting. STAY AWAY if money is a concern for you. more
