Steam Express Duct Cleaning

We had the opportunity to have some duct cleaning and carpet cleaning on 06/13/15 done by this company. The representatives Avi and Arnesto were two hard working professionals. They truly exemplified team work and removed all the mold from our home, as well as, all the stains out our carpet. We were was amazed because we thought we needed new carpet but when they were done; all we needed was Steam Express and our carpet looked brand new again. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The have a special for A/C Duct cleaning for $88.00 So I said ok. When they got there they took off the air vents from the ceiling and began to vacuum the vent boxes. They put the air vents back on. I said wait a minute. you did not clean that air duct. They said this is all you get if you want your ducts cleaned it will be an extra $299.00 I said the add said the you would clean the A/C ducts for $88.00 They said no it don't. They lie and this is a scam. you will NOT get your A/C DUCTS for $88.00 Then they want $59.00 to vacuum the return air. They try to up sell you on everything. Thes people are crooks. I will never use them again. They were there no more that 30 minutes. These people are not good people to do business with. Stay away.\r \r Mark more

Please do stay away from these people. It's an ultimate scam and high-pressure upsell. We arranged for duct cleaning with a special for $97 for ten ducts and then the carpet cleaned in three rooms for free. The duct cleaning was fine as was the carpet cleaning - except for the ""pet enzyme"", which was quoted to me as $25 but then turned out to be $25/room. But then the fun started - the crew on site checked the air return duct and the furnace plenum. We were told there was mold in the plenum and that the return duct needed cleaning. The offer was made to clean, deodorize, treat for mold etc for the bargain price of $599. Weel, hadn't been done in a few years, so we agreed. The next day we called the company back to retreat the carpets as there was still some odors. While they were in the house, we also asked them to check the plenum again - without telling them it had been ""cleaned"" the day before. The technician took one look inside and promptly informed us there was mold everywhere and it would cost $259 to clean!! Obviously somebody was lying to us. long story short, we got taken. Never use these people. more

I had Steam Express do a cleaning on the air ducts in my home. They did the cleaning as requested, but they insisted I had tons of black mold in my a/c unit. I was shown pictures of the inside of ""my unit"" supposedly. I was then told I needed to have my system deep cleaned for nearly $1,000! When I declined, the service techs got rude about it and quickly packed up their belongings, almost without doing the carpet cleaning in 2 rooms that was part of the package I had purchased. When I requested the carpet cleaning, they did a very quick and crummy job just to get out of my house. Something sounded fishy to me about the a/c needing cleaning. I could do the cleaning myself with a bottle of Clorox and a few hours time. I called the company I normally use for my a/c services and had them do an inspection on the unit. I had them check for the black mold. I was told my unit is 100% perfectly clean with not a speck of mold in it. I realized that Steam Express tried to take me for my money and so I did some research online. Apparently I'm not the only one that they have tried to scam. more

Amazing service!! I had my air ducts cleaned and they found mold on them, they showed it to me, and then cleaned it. I saw the before and after and was amazed!! My allergies are gone and my house smells fresh and clean! I also got my carpet cleaned with their organic materials, excellent customer service, very polite and honest. Definitely recommend this company! more

These guys are incredible at what they do and they helped my Aunt get her place clean as possible. I was impressed with their fast service and friendly way of doing business. I strongly recommend using this company, as they were able to repair my Aunt's basement and I didn't think it was possible. Thank you. A+++ all the way guys. more

This is the third time I have used Steam Express Duct Cleaning. They are very easy to schedule with and they are always on time. They come in and do a great job and are very reasonably priced. I will use them again and again! Thanks a bunch. (^_^) more

First time customer, and it will be the last time! I called to make an appointment and to find out more information about their service, the receptionist that answered was completely rude. I figured, I'd try it out because I had a Valpak coupon and she's not the one doing the carpet cleaning so whatever. They arrived on time and called 30 minutes ahead of time before arriving which was good. However, the service was terrible. The men did not help move the furniture whatsoever. I understand when it comes to heavy furniture but they did not move anything! They watched me and my sister move everything we could and we are two young ladies! The man examining our carpet was also arrogant, lazy, and lying about the size of the rooms ""just by looking at it"" he came up with a random square footages. I've had my carpet steamed cleaned before by other companies and they have always at least helped move the furniture. But these people are horrible. They were also cutting corners and did not do a good job. more

I don't even want to give one star! We had a two man team come to our home and clean our carpets. Unfortunately, one could not speak or understand English at all and the other had a strong accent that it was difficult to understand. I know this world has a variety of people and languages,which I love, but it becomes a problem when we cannot communicate successfully. They were careless with their equipment and, with no effort, ran the machine over our carpets with one hand. I had another in house Hoover carpet cleaning machine and ran over the carpets to see if they were truly clean. The water was dirty when it was ran only over a small portion of the floor. We called the company while they were here with our concerns and they kept giving an excuse instead of a solution. Sadly, this company will not be doing ours or our family, friends or neighbors carpets. I love to refer great service and friendly people, but this company was a disappointment all the way around. My suggestions would be to have them wear booties, especially when it has been storming outside, and not to run the tubing through the customers landscaping and then around the trimmed corners in the home. We had to mop the floors again to clean up after them. Great... more work for me. more

Hi, we live in the 77095 area of Houston and called Steam Express to come do service at our home. My mother and I were very dissatisfied with their service. I was pregnant at the time, and my mom didn't know English. The service man missed 3 air vents and he barely worked an hour (only 45 minutes), and charged us $216.00. He said we should be able to tell the difference, but honestly, we cannot and I just wanted to post this review so other customers can just be on the look-out if you guys do call Steam Express. more

I gave one star since that is the only way to write a review. I had their air duct cleaning service since there was a coupon for a good deal and also their website was saying they are equipped with micro-camera so I can see the result later. When they showed up, there was no camera. they said only certain vans have camera. What?!. They were very pushy too. Worst service ever and you are wasting your money. If you need air duct cleaning, use Blackmonmooring. I used their service after I burnt my finger on Steamexpress. Blackmonmooring was really good, very kind, nice and professional. I was impressed so I used their steam carpet service too. Blackmonmooring provides the best super clean and qualified serives for both airduct cleaning and carpet cleaning. Steamexpress, are you kidding me? more

We used these guys to steam clean our carpets and couch and were significantly upcharged for ""pet sanitation"". Our ""cleaned"" area rug still is coated with dog hair and stinks - there is even a crayola on the carpet that our dog had chewed up the other day that is still there. Carpets throughout the house are COMPLETELY SOAKED as is the couch they did - can't imagine that they will be dry anytime soon. They left pools of water on our hardwood floors. Also marked up our hardwood floors dragging furniture across them. Very unprofessional and will never, never use these guys again. more

Within 5 minutes the technician, Nick, had the bill from $77 for air duct cleaning to $535. His helpers were already starting to work while he was trying to upsell me on all the extra stuff I needed to clean the air ducts - wich would have meant them having to do it again. When I asked where the Camera was that they use to inspect the ducts he said it was in the truck and he didn't need it - so I asked how they knew if the ducts were clean and he said that the tool they used guaranteed it would be. After they left I went into my attic and shook one of my flex duct lines and when I went down to the room it was feeding there was black stuff all over. I also asked how they knew if the tool head reached the plenum and he said it was by feel.....which sounds shady to me. His hose wasnt long enough to reach the plenum and when I asked him about it he did not have an educated answer. I would not use this company. Oh yeah....this was service done on a Monday because they had to cancel on Friday. more

I also, had a horrible experience. My $77 coupon turned in to a $245 carpet cleaning job. Ben was very pushy with the air duct deal.Asked me to copy 8 invoices for him. Asked for a tip when I was paying them. I was extremely uncomfortable. They threw heavy furniture on my expensive bedding and didn't use protectors under legs of furniture. I complained to the company twice. They don't appear to care. STAY AWAY!!!! more

I too regret not doing research on this company. I got a coupon for an air duct cleaning for $77 up to 10 vents. There is no mention of extra cost for return vents. I received a phone call from ""JACK""? Who I could barely understand saying they would be at my home in 1 hour. ""JACK"" came to my door dressed in jamacian dreadlocks,dirty ""steamexpress"" shirt, & converse. As I opened the door, he just walked in and asked for the coupon. He didn't ask if he could inspect the rest of my home, he just went into closed rooms etc. as if he were a dominate male dog trying to show his presence. My $77 went quickly to $267 for extra vents. He tried to sell the mold sanitation and vent washing for an ungodly price. I told him that I would have to call my husband regarding the upcharge before they began. He stood there while I was on the phone and then summoned his helper to begin the process. They were already cleaning vents before i had a chance to get off the phone! He threw paper work on the counter, and told me to fill it out. After they were done, there is a section that reads""I certify and am satisfied and am shown the work is completed"". I asked ""JACK"" to let me see what he cleaned out of my vents:we walk outside and says I can't show you, my partner already dumped it down the storm sewer! Lesson learned here! I should of been tougher and them to hit the road as soon as they began the bull...DONT USE STEAM EXPRESS!! more

The previous 5-star reviews appear to be fake to me. We used Steam Express recently and were extremely dis-satisfied. Now that I've looked for reviews online, I'm kicking myself for not researching the company better before calling them. There are several one star reviews at other sites, and those reviews definitely reflect my experience. The ads you find in valpak and elsewhere are bait and switches. They will come in your house bring equipment and start working and then discuss various upselling: ""need to sanitize"", ""need pet enzyme treatment"", all extra, so you end up having to pay 3 or 4 times more than expected. They will start on vent cleaning, and find evidence of mold and try to sell minimum of $1200 mold remediation treatment. The cleaning they do for vents is shoddy, just vacuuming the immediate inside events, upselling returns for extra money, leaving a mess under each vent without cleaning up. My wife wanted to call them back to clean their mess, but I convinced her we do not want this horrible, shady company back in our house, so we cut our losses. Fortunately rejected the mold remediation even though the guy persisted the whole time they were doing their ""work."" more

I Have 5 kids and 2 dogs so, of course, that means i have alot of accidents on my carpet. I had lots of family coming over for our yearly family cookout so i could not have my carpet looking so badly. I got a extrodinary coupon in the mail and decided to call.
