I love it here! I am a busy mum of 4 kids and do not get too much time to myself. It has been a really good experience coming here, friendly, relaxing and of course my great stylist Sopi. She knows her stuff and I love my hair, gray hair what gray hair, I look fabulous. Thanks Sopi. I also visited the reflexology area and I wanted to stay and take a nap it was so relaxing, but all good things must come to and end and the kids are waiting!! I went to see Paul Pina after reading reviews here and I couldn't be happier with my new hair cut! I have lots of naturally curly hair and it's been a few years since I found someone who could actually cut it right. He spent a lot of time talking to me about what I want and gave me a great style. He really understands curly hair and I highly recommend him. I have been getting tons of compliments. If you are looking to change your hair stylist like I was, I highly recommend Paul Pina. He just recently cut my hair for the first time and I can honestly say this was the best hair cut I ever had! I have thick and coarse hair so alot of hair stylists had always had trouble cutting my hair, but not Paul. He knew exactly how to handle my hair and the end result was just FABULOUS! more

Paul Pina is the best!!! I didn't realize I had gone gray until I left the salon with my true hair color. His coloring technique is subtle and yet it's so vibrant, nobody would ever guess I've been colored. Rich, georgeous hues and an awesome, face-framing cut to match. I had lost over half of my hair. I had a surgery go bad and was in a coma for a month. I just wanted to look normal, and my doctors told me that it might be over a year until my hair grew back. I'm so glad that I found Robert. He was actually referred through a doctor to me. I had a consultation, and I felt that he could help me. Jill has been cutting and coloring my hair for 3 years. She is AWESOME!!! She takes in what I want, adds her own flair, and I LOVE looking cool and hip and current! The cut is always top notch - and the color even better! People stop me in the street and ask, ""Who does your hair?"". more

I can't say enough about him. My old hair dresser fried my hair and turned it yellow. Robert lowighted my hair and toned it to a beautiful sandy blonde. He also gave me a ""twisty cut"" which cut off the split ends with out removing my length. I thought that I would have to cut my hair off; he just laughed. He saved my hair. I have been seeing Joseph Freda for over 15 years. He is by far the best at what he does, or being able to fix something someone else did poorly! I have A LOT of hair that God blessed me with however I have a disability that I can not handle heat! I come in and say get rid of all of it, it's too hot. With many years of expertise he is able to unscamble cut it all off to being able to texturize my hair to the greatest styles. I change the style of my hair and sometimes color from blond to blond with orange and purple highlights only to come back not because it was not done great but because I was board and my hair grows so fast he is able to get my hair back to the great blond that I love and a new style that I love more than the last one!! I would perish if he was not there for me 24/7 to help me when I needed it or to make me feel like a million bucks just because it was time for my next cut. I take pictures to him and he is able to let me know if that style will work with my life and my features something very difficult to do when I change my mind about every 3 months. I have the most healthy hair and am complemented on it on a regular basis. Joseph Freda is the best there is!! Pros: Nice salon with friendly staff Cons: can't think of any more

Jill Vaughan at Salon Ambiance is the best. She has been cutting my hair for a while now, not only is she good, she has that kind of personality that has you as a friend the minute you sit down. My daughter was recently treated to her wounderful personality as well as her amazing talants. My daughter had colored her hair jet black, from blond, with a home/do it yourself hair coloring kit. She was not happy with jet black and regreted her impulse. Jill was able to layer in multible colors to give her the most natural, rich looking hair. It looks almost like she colored each strand of hair, and it blended into her roots naturally. From what I understand going from blond to black and back to blond isn't easy to do. Jill did it. I would recomend her highly. Pros: People who work there are wounderful. more

I am a model and actress and my hair has to look good all the time. Paul's expertise in color and style are truley amazing!!! Anytime I need a new color or style for a film or photo shoot, Paul works his magic and amazes me and the producers everytime!!! I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else!! more

Paul Pina knows how to make you look young and feminine not punky or old-lady like. I'm 49 years old and I always ask haircutters to make me look feminine, make my hair look full, and make me look chic. They usually do what they want and the next thing I know, I either have a butch, punky short cut or look so old, ordinary and unsexy, that I feel like I should be wearing a ""retired"" sign across my chest, wearing polyester pants and yelling out bingo numbers! It's horrible to look in the mirror and feel you look old and drab just from a blech cut. Paul looked at the pictures I showed, looked at the shape of my head, and the texture of my hair -and told me exactly what he was going to do before he did it. No surprises. Now my hair is full and falls naturally, shows off my eyes, and I look feminine, young, and classy. more

After seeing several stylists over the past year who basically ruined my hair, I called Ambiance Salon after reading reviews on this site. The receptionist asked me questions about my hair and set up a consultation with Paul Pina. Paul was extremely nice and spent a lot of time asking many questions about my hair and previous treatments. I have naturally curly hair that had no shape and was recuperating from color corrections. He gave me a great hair cut that revived my curls and was an actual style. He also had many suggestions on how to fix the color the whole time emphasizing bringing my hair back to healthy. I'm going back in a week to begin the color fixing process. Paul has won my confidence with the knowledge that he has expressed and by really listening to me. Paul Pina gives the best cut and color in the world. I am a mom of 4 and on most days I don't have much time for myself. Paul not only takes time with my hair, but always fits me into his schedule. Every time he cuts my hair it is always fabulous and usually people don't recognize me. Hands down he is the best in the world in my book. He puts those makeover shows to shame. No one has ever come close to giving me the haircut he does. We have a gem in Huntington Beach, don't let Hollywood know about him we will lose the best in the business. :) more

I live right by Salon Ambiance and have walked and driven past it since it was built last year, but hadn't been in there until now. I got my hair cut at another salon and I think the communication/language barrier proved near fatal because I got a hideous cut that wasn't working at all. I waited 2 weeks hating my hair every day before I finally got smart and called Salon Ambiance! I told them my dilemma and how I needed help immediately. Well, I called at 4:00 pm and they got me right in with Sam. Don't let his young age fool you... at 23 years of age, he his well-versed and very talented where hair is concerned! He listened to what I wanted and then got to work. First the shampoo.... oh my gosh, that was awesome! Then he cut my hair and actually fixed the hideousness I was living with, which I didn't think was possible. The cut was $50, much more than I'm accustomed to paying, but I will continue to go back to Sam and refer all my friends as well. I walked out of Salon Ambiance looking and feeling better than I had in weeks. The salon is gorgeous with a very eclectic group of people who work there. Trust this place and definitely go see Sam... he's AWESOME! Pros: Beautiful salon with amazing talent at every station! more

I just got back from a haircut at Salon Ambiance with Paul. He was so great!! I called the salon last night at 7pm because an unexpected interview came up and Paul agreed to come in early to see me. I arrived at the salon, which was beautiful, and I was greeted with a warm smile and plenty of offers for a refreshment. Paul called me back, gave me the best shampoo and I got to spend a pleasant hour with him during my cut and style. He didn't rush and we had great conversation. The haircut was exactly what I had in mind and I didn't have to do much explaining about what I wanted, he already knew! The experience was relaxing, fun, and I can't wait to see him again! more

I always get nervous when it comes to changing my hair color to something different, and I end up not going through with it. But Cory did an awesome job on my hair color. He knew the right color to do my Highlights and I am so happy with the job he did. I get many compliments. I feel safe in Cory's hands and I will be returning to Cory from now on. I even have to drive a distance to see him and its all worth it. Thank You Cory I love my hair. more

I'v had my hair colored at many different salons before, but Salon Ambiance is by far the best salon i have been to. I always get nervous when i change my hair color to something different, and i'm never really satisfied with the out come. But Cory Estrella did an awesome job on my hair color. I am so happy with the job he did. I get many compliments. I am definately returning to Cory. more

I went to Joseph Freda based on the reviews of Citysearch, but this was the biggest mistake I've ever made when it comes to a hairdresser. I brought 3 different pictures of the haircut and color I wanted to show Joseph and when I left it looked nothing like the pictures. If Joseph spent half the time listening to what I had asked for instead of boasting about how wonderful he is, I probably would have had an okay cut and color. He does not listen, continuously brags about himself and makes you very uncomfortable. He cut my hair first and before he cut it too short I had reminded him of what I wanted in the haircut. He acknowledged what I had said and kept cutting how HE wanted to cut my hair. I have very dark brown hair and then he stripped my hair of all its color. I was shocked when I looked in the mirror and it was bright orange. He laughed and called me ""Lucy"". He then highlighted it with blonde, another reddish color and an ashy brown. Needless to say, it was hideous. Then he tried to correct it with a darker color and it still looked terrible. At this point I had been in the salon for 7 hours and just wanted to go home. He then told me that he wanted to get to his next client. I left the salon with a terrible haircut and color and will never return. Buyers beware of Joseph Freda. His 34 years of experience has made him tired. more
