Jill Vaughan at Salon Ambiance is Excellent! 9/19/2008

Jill Vaughan has been my hairdresser for 10 years. I first looked for her when I saw a hair style she had done in a photo in a hairstyle magazine at another salon. When she left Cypress, I followed her to Los Alamitos, and then when she moved all the way down to Huntington Beach and Salon Ambiance, I had to follow her again because I can't give up my excellent hairdresser and friend. That is what Jill becomes to her clients. I have short, stubborn hair, but Jill cuts it in a precise cut that makes people ask me where I have my hair done. I've even had people follow me into my gym class (or other places) to ask me that question! Jill is also an excellent colorist, so I manage to keep my hair blonde instead of gray, thanks to her genius. I am one of Jill's older clients, but I have seen her work with bridal parties, and the dressy hairstyles she does for them are beautiful. Pros: Nice massage in chairs at shampoo bowl more

Robert 9/17/2008

I just came back from 5 months in Spain and needed a new hairdresser. Robert's name came up on a few sights. I tryed him, and I'm so excited about my color. I have long hair and used to be a natural red. Robert told me that he thought that my hair was too light and washing me out. Then he brought out four different colors to put in my hair. I just have to say that I did not realize how light my hair really was and how badly I was washed out. My hair hasn't looked this good since I was a teenager. It has so much depth and shine. He also recommended a light shine product that made my hair so soft. I'm just happy and wanted to share that with others. I'M SO UPSET WITH PAUL PINA'S SERVICE!!!!! 9/17/2008

I went to see Paul Pina for the second time in early September. I went in the salon for a 1:00 appointment and was seated at 1:40, which was pretty annoying. I've been wearing a bob for the past year and I've been trying to grow it out so when he sat me in his chair I told him that I only wanted a tiny trim and I explained to him how important the length was for me. He told me he understood. After the shampoo he made his first cut and to my horror, I looked at the floor and saw Paul cutting three inches of my hair off. I asked him right away why he was cutting so much off. He told me it was just in the back, but again I reminded him that I didn't want it very short. Once he completed the style, I was so sad to see his completed look. My hair was so short!!! I'd been trying to grow it out for a year and it felt like he took my year of effort and chopped it off when I asked him not to. It felt like he styled my hair the way he thought it would look cute. more

Michael is AWESOME!!! 9/11/2008

It was my first time going to this Salon, and I totally loved it! My stylist Michael knew exactly how to fix my hair that I messed up coloring. I left the Salon feeling and looking great! I definitely recommend him. I have not tried the other stylists, but I bet they are great as well. I'm the kind of person that stick to someone that I really like, so I guess this means I will be seeing Michael quite often. Thanks Michael! You're the best!! Pros: Everything is perfect!! more

I Recommend Robert 9/9/2008

Another friend of mine found Robert on City Search, and recommended him to me. It's hard to find a stylist who listens and actually takes the time that he does. I didn't feel rushed, and I usually have an issue with my blonde coming out brassy. Well I love how my hair came out, and the tone of the blonde is beautiful. He is also very cool, and I felt reasonably priced. The salon is gorgeous. I can't say enough. Pros: Beautiful Salon more

I absolutely LOVE Rebecca!! WOW is all i have to say, She recommended a treatment called ""Brazillian Keratin Treatment"" because my hair was over-processed, frizzy, and just never really looked sleek and smooth.. yet thats what I was looking for everytime I got my hair done.. I ended up getting the treatment and it is the best thing I have EVER done with my hair it takes way less time to blowdry now, and looks shiny and smooth all the time... THANK YOU SO MUCH REBECCA!!! Jill Vaughan and a fabulous salon 9/7/2008

Jill has been doing my hair since 1996. She is fabulous-you can't go wrong with her. I let her do what she thinks is good - she hasn't been wrong yet!! The Salon is amazing....I've followed Jill to 4 salons and this one is truly off the charts...., great staff, truly friendly stylists, and great coffee!! The staff really like and care about each other - it is obvious and a whole different feel than just getting your hair done. There is also an incredible massage offered in an adjacent space - clothing stays on and it is an hour for $29!!!! I am a whole new person since Ken worked on my aches and pains (including a recently torn ankle ligament). I have more flexibility and less pain than I have in months. Go get your hair done by Jill and have Ken give you a massage right after - you won't regret it!!! Pros: The coffee is amazing. The stylists are so friendly. The shampoo station has massage chairs! more

I had a horrible experience at another salon and called Salon Ambiance for help fixing my hair. I not only got an appointment the same day, it was with an amazing hair stylist. I'm a natural dark blonde and walked into the salon with almost black hair with grayish white streaks in it. Rebecca B. not only stayed late to fit me in but didn't quit until my hair was perfect. After a lot of work on her part, I left with blonde hair again! more

REBECCA at Salon Ambiance in Huntington Beach is the greatest! I look forward to getting my hair done because I feel great everytime I leave. I am constantly getting complements on my color...Her philosophy on healthy blonde hair (never thought that was possible) and relaxed vibe has kept me a loyal client. No other stylists had ever educated me on the options to try to keep my blonde locks healthy! Her shampoo & condition massages feel so good! MAJOR BONUS: They have massaging shampoo chairs!!! Paul is truly an artist!! 9/3/2008

I had gone to Paul to do my hair for prom i brought in a picture that i wanted it to kinda look like. Paul put his own twist on it is was amazing! I had gotten so many complements it was crazy! so a few months ago i went back to him for some highlights and he did great work! He makes your session very personal, he seems to be truly a friend. I now live in Ohio and I'm coming back to California in a couple months just to have him to do my hair! Salon Ambiance is the only place i will ever go to for my hair now. more

Karyn - great at cuts, weave's, color & Brazilian Hair Treatments! 9/2/2008

I've been going to Karyn for over a year now after having been referred to her by a close friend of mine. My current stylist wasn't up to speed on the latest styles and I just wasn't happy. After my first appointment with Karyn, she told me exactly what we needed to do to my hair in order to get the long term results I wanted, which was to grow it long. I've always walked out loving my cut and color, she has never steered me wrong. She is totally up to speed on the latest trends, including Brazilian Hair Treatments. I called her a few weeks ago asking about straightening my very frizzy hair. She told me about this latest treatment that conditions your hair rather than using chemicals to take out the frizz. She did it on my hair last week and I love it!!! My hair is silky smooth and this morning all I did was dry it with a blowdryer! I had to use my straightening iron everyday but not anymore! Karyn's advice is always right on and I trust her 100% with my hair! Pros: Ambience Cons: Front counter staff has forgotton to notify Karyn that I've arrived. more

Robert Miracle Worker 8/29/2008

I found Robert through City Search. I read some of the reviews, and had a consultation with him. I had a tumor remove from the back of my head leaving me bald in a large section of my head. I though that I would have to wear a wig. He absolutely amazed me. He covered my bald spot, and my hair has never looked better. I just can't believe it. He is also a very sweet man. Oh and the best thing is that his cost was almost half of the other quotes I got! Pros: Beautiful Salon more

Great cut from Paul Pina! 8/27/2008

I went to have my hair cut by Paul after reading all of the glowing reviews on Citysearch. He truly was great! One thing that drives me nuts about many local salons is the attitude I get and Paul didn't have this. He was welcoming and friendly. I even used a 20% off coupon through Clipper and thought I'd be too embarrased to pull this out, but he brought it up and didn't make me feel badly for getting a discount at all. Aside from all of this, the cut was great! He truly updated my look, which is what I totally needed! I was feeling a bit ""mom""ish and now feel like I have some style to my look. I'm looking forward to going back for some color now. Paul had some great suggestions and was even willing to help figure out a way to maintain highlights without having to return for touch-ups every 6 weeks. I would definitely recommend Paul to others! more

Paul Pina Is The Man! 8/22/2008

I was looking for new stylist for my sad, flat, graying mom hair, and found Paul Pina through an ad in Clipper magazine. I was expecting the leper treatment because I had a coupon, but there was not even a hint of it. Paul is extremely talented, with none of the attitude you often get in upscale salons. He paid attention to exactly what I wanted, and I left feeling beautiful. My color is rich and gorgeous, and my cut makes me look ten years younger! Hot dog! Robert is the greatest! 8/1/2008

I had found this salon from Citysearch. So, I was worried at first, but felt at ease the second I sat in Robert's chair. His talent is remarkable! He listens well, and knows what style is best suited for your bone structure. I have never been given such a great haircut and color prior to him. I promise you that you will be very pleased with his expertise. Every time I leave the salon I am happy and receive many compliments. The salon is very comfortable and the prices are affordable. Be sure to ask for Robert, you won't be sorry. more

I love this salon, I have had THE WORST salon experiences anyone could imagine at countless other salons. But this place is amazing. Everyone is super nice, the inside is very clean and the most comfortable I've seen. Rebecca was really nice off the bat. I went in there knowing only that I wanted blonde hair. She took the time to help me figure out what would look best. The final product looks amazing and will definitely be booking my next appointment there and with her! The reviews about Robert are true. I needed a new stylist, and I had my reunion coming up. I found Robert by looking through alot of comments. I've had so many compliments on my hair. I came with a haircut I hated, and keep coming back to Erika. She does a great job. She changed my hair style drastically and it looks great. It's scary to move to a new town and find someone new to trust with your hair. Erika knows her stuff. And the prices are low for such a nice place. I was blown away when I paid my first time.
