Joseph is one of the few stylists that I know of that sat down and talked with me before he even touched my hair. We spend about 20-30 minutes creating a hairstyle that can work with my busy life. Then we went through magazines to find the perfect cut. His knowledge about color is pure genious. I love the fact that he educates me about different products and why it's important to use them. I went there with bleached, broken-off split ends and he fixed the whole mess. I have been faithful to him for the past 5 years. I have learned to always stick with what works! It's that simple. Joseph, thank you for being so damn good at what you do! Pros: Salon also offers reflexology and complete nail salon next door...one stop shopping. Cons: Has ample parking, but could always use more. more

Joseph's work is unparalleled by any other hair dresser I have come across...He doesn't simply possess the technical skill to cut a great haircut or apply great, lasting color...he has the knowledge and insight to create a hairstyle (cut, color, or both) that works for the individual...You can bring in a picture of any cut or color from a magazine that you want and have to have and Joseph will give you the version of that cut and color that works for you, so that you don't end up with a cookie cutter look, you get the best parts of the look that works for you...Joseph is absolutely the epitome of a hairSTYLIST...I one hundred percent trust his judgment and know that he will never ever let me get a cut or color that wouldn't work for me. It is sometimes hard to choose when reading through all of the comments on City Search to choose a hairdresser. I looked through a lot and noticed Robert had great comments over a long period of time. I like my hair as light as possible, but I have a problem with my hair turning gold at the roots. I explained this to Robert and he made me feel very confident that he knew what he was doing. He has been a hairdresser for a long time. My hair came out beautiful and not a hint of gold. By the way he's very cute, and looks like a rock star. We had a lot of fun. more

Joesph has been only doing my hair for a year or so, but its the first time in my entire life I have been in love with my hair. I have never ever ever liked my hard to deal with, frizzy hair, but he made it even better than everyone else! I will never go anywhere else. more

I went to Salon Ambiance because of all the positive reviews on this site. I have never gotten my hair cut at a place fancier than Super Cuts and always have dyed my own hair. This time I decided to treat myself and get a real haircut. The prices are very good here and the customer service is great. The outside of the building doesnt look like much, but inside it is very inviting and NOT snobby at all (hello Tony and Guy!). I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but Rebecca was very nice and helped me pick out a style that would flatter my face the most. She did an excellent job and I received so many compliments already! I will definitely go back again. The only con I have is that she left some dye on my forehead and I had to scrub it off when I came home :( Overall, though, a great place to go and worth the drive. i have been getting my hair cut by Ahsley, and i must say she is by far the best. Not only is one of the most pleasant people i have ever met, but by far the best hair cut i have ever gotten. she makes me feel comfortable and really know how to get my hair to look wonderful, with any look I'm going for. i would never go to, or trust any one else to do my hair. she is the best!!!!!!!!! I've been going to Natalie Garces for the past 5 years now and have followed her from Fullerton to Huntington Beach. She knows so much about color and whenever she feels I should make a change I always trust her judgement and I've never been disappointed. Her hair cuts are amazing, and she has great product knowledge. I always buy what she recommends for my hair and I can always get the look I want. She's very warm and friendly and offers great service. I work for a design firm and have platinum hair. I love to wear it long, but I had hair locs that separated and looked like spaghetti strings. I was so frustrated with the way they looked; not to mention how much of my hair I was loosing. I found Robert through Citysearch. I checked out his websight and had a consultation. The method he uses is far superior to any other extensions I've ever had. They fit so close to the head that when I run my fingers through my haIr I can barely notice them. When I shake my hair you can't see hundreds of little locks. I love these. What's unbelievable is the cost was almost half of the hair locs, and I don't have to keep rebuying hair. This is definitely a one stop all day salon. You can start with your hair and work your way down to your toes. I love the modern way they have the salon set up where you can watch 5 or 6 other people getting their hair done. Music is great and there's always a video to watch. Joseph Freda has serviced me for some time and he does a great job. He can almost always fit me in and with my busy schedule that is a major plus. My color is always great and my cuts are always up to date with the current fashion trend. He makes my daughter happy too. That is also a great plus.
