I went to Ruth's Chris last night for a birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised. First of all, I would like to have our waiter from Ruth's Chris, ""Rafael,"" at every dinner I have for the rest of the my life! His service was not only personal, but patient and welcoming, too. Our martinis were perfect and LARGE, not the stingy, small, demi-martinis that you get in wimpy cocktail lounges. And the caesar salad was very good while the fillet was excellent. The fillet was not the most perfect fillet that I've ever had in my life, but it was far above average in taste and texture. The side dishes were good, but not outstandingly flavorful. But because the service was so over the top, it didn't matter. The one major issue was the fresh-frozen lobster tail. Unfortunately, the first one was chewy. The kitchen remade the order with a new tail and brought a nice one out that was unfortunately, also a bit chewy. The kitchen manager came out and talked to us about our reaction to the lobster, and he was completely understanding about our opinion. Although the dinner wasn't 100% perfect, the exemplary service offered by Raphael and the rest of the crew handily won us over. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ruth's Chris of Beverly Hills, and I look forward to going back.
Pros: Some of the best table service I've ever had, excellent timing, no rush, very enjoyable
Cons: Really can't think of any worth mentioning, except that the lobster was not exceptional
