I'd like to take a minute to give some thoughts on my experience with pipe wrench plumbing, after that I will go into more detail.
My technician was Michael C. and he was very nice, personable, respectful, and knowledgeable. I'm not sure the woman's name who I talked to first to set up the appointment, but she was great as well. They were on time and let me know when and what was going to happen, which I really enjoyed. Being involved in the service industry myself, my standards and expectations may be high, but I think I'm being fair in my review, I've struggled with posting anything, I really didn't want to, but the third email I got asking me to review them changed my mind, I hope they really want to know and are trying to better themselves, it's in that spirit I will leave my review, I hope my words are taken in that context.
THE GOOD:
1. On time, courteous, knowledgeable.
2. Understood what there was to do, and did it right the first time, no hassles, just good plumbing work.
3. Friendly, I left him to his work for the most part, but did nose in every so often and he never seemed to mind, and always stayed positive and nice.
THE BAD :
1. On the website it said that they wear things over their shoes and clean up everything. Neither actually happened, the tub was cleaned of garbage, but was very dirty from grease, muck and whatever from doing the job. Normally I would expect this, but with what the website stated, I had hoped for better.
2. Finish work: to be honest the caulking was poorly done, especially around the new tub spout, I didn't realize I was getting a new tub spout, mine had a trim plate behind it which I really liked and cleaned it up nicely, the new one is fine, but the trim piece was removed, and the caulking that he did just fell inside and left a gap between the tub and the spout, which is why I liked the trim piece. I've already cleaned and re caulked everything, so it's fine now, but again, I didn't complain about the price because I believed what the website was saying and I kind of felt like he skimped on the fine tuning at the end, which to me is just as important as the plumbing part.
3. Lastly, he didn't run both tubs when he did turn the water back on, he checked the pressure at a random spigot, but never got the air out of the lines, and the first thing I did was go to the bathroom because 3 hours without water will do that to you, as soon as I did, I knew, I heard that sound of an air pocket trying to get through the flush valve, it still works, but does sound different and I'd be willing to bet that within a week or two I will be replacing the flush valve because again, at the end of the job, some details were missed.
FINAL THOUGHTS :
Good plumber, great service, prompt, friendly, but lacked the finishing touches I felt necessary to feel good about the price I paid. I would recommend, but with the caveat that you may have to look over their shoulder a little more than I did.
