Dr. Rebecchi is amazing, but the chance that you will actually get Dr. Rebecchi in the event of a urgent appointment is minimal at best. He is only in the office a couple of days ...

pretty poor customer service, great with animals 1/15/2011

I arrived on-time for my cat's annual exam, and then waited. And waited. And waited. There was only one other person in the waiting room, and at least half a dozen staff members in the back, telling stories about vacation, talking about what's for lunch, and just kinda hanging out. There was no acknowledgment that I had been waiting for nearly 40 minutes when I was finally called back to the exam room. The vet tech was friendly and gentle with my cat, but had this alarming habit of leaving the room without telling me where she was going, what she was doing, or when she'd be back. This happened three times during my 15 minute "exam." The second time she was out of the room for several minutes, and I heard her laughing with other staff about some video online they were all watching together. Really? I'm standing (there was no chair) in the (dirty) exam room, holding my increasingly-nervous cat b/c she put my carrier away and left the door open, listening to their conversations. And I'm still waiting.... The vet came in, was friendly and gentle with my cat, but gave me maybe 3 minutes of his time. As I left the parking lot, I realized I had spent over an hour of my morning at this place, dropped over $75 dollars, and really only experienced about 10-12 minutes of actual service. Great. more

Thank you for GREAT CARE 8/25/2010

I want to publically thank Drs, Larry and Kipp for honestly, compassionately and fairly treating my sister and her dog. After much urging to come to you, she did (after spending over $2500 elsewhere). She was impressed with the care and your ability to correct what was an ongoing expensive problem. I am her hero now. more

Absolutely the BEST in City 8/25/2010

Being a foster parent and a multi-pet owner, finding a sensitive, efficient and understanding vet is in itself no easy task. I found one in Dr. Rebecchi- he truly knows his stuff- he isn't arrogant or in anyway attempting to waste your time or money. I'm not equally as pleased with the support staff and found Dr. Chapman to have some personality issues for sure- I am not certain he is still there and that to me is a bonus. I have a thick file for my own pets and for each of my fosters. All that I bring there are treated as if they were the unique, special creatures that they of course are- and that's generally the first time they've ever had that sort of detailed attention. I trust Dr. Rebecchi's medical opinion 1000 percent even though every time he looks at me the word PARVO flashes across my forehead. I'm quite sure he forgets my name but not my nemesis for puppies from shelters. Still, unlike many vets in this city- especially Queen Village, he will see my often- dying babies and treats them in the manner they deserve. The rest don't want these as I was told, "animals I pick up off the street' they have after all "an exclusive clientelle." WELL with Dr. R I do not have to say EXCUUUUUUSE US!' Oh and I don't pickem up off the street- animal control does that- and those irresponsible owners dump them at the shelters. Choose Rebecchi- he's the best. more

Extremely Satisfied Clients 4/11/2010

When I moved away from southwest Philly, I started using a vet right down the street from me. We were horrified at the way we (the humans) were treated. I own alot of dogs and cats, many are rescues and special needs so it was important to find a practice that could meet my extensive needs, I called to inteview the pratice and was delighted with the answers I got. I am there weekly at times, due to the nature of a full household, and I am always happy with our care, We have been there for prenatal care, births, routine neutering, dermatology, emergency visits and even deaths, and I have never left feeling like there was more that could have been done. The cost is reasonable especially the routine stuff. Pros: Hours 7 days a week, a variety of Drs, helpul staff, Cons: I live far away more

The cost is reasonable especially the routine stuff. They have a digital xray machine that makes life much easier on the dogs, my old vet use to sedate my dogs for xrays, DR Chapman never has. One of my major issues with my old vet was the God complex thing, with Dr Rebbechi and Dr Chapman I always feel like they give me options and listen to my input when it comes to treatment plans for my dogs and cats. I never feel judged if I decide to go against thier suggestions and never feel minimized if I call with a seemingly minor concern. I have had several emergency calls for random things and they always take the time to reassure me if its minor and give me clear guidelines as to what definwhen to drop everything and come in, I have never been turned away for an emergency even though the practice is busy. I am so glad to have found this practice and my dogs are too, not a single one of them freaks out in the parking lot or has to be dragged in they all walk in with thier tails wagging. Pros: Hours 7 days a week, a variety of Drs, helpul staff, Cons: I live far away more

A Great Experience for Me and My Dog 3/19/2010

I was urged, for years, by my neighbors to have my dog seen by Dr. Rebbecci. After countless visits to my longterm vet, i made an appointment with him. I needed an honest, not self-serving answer on how to treat, or not to treat, a chronic lameness issue. I felt the discussion was honest and Dr. Rebbecci had the dogs best interest in mind when he laid out a treatment plan. I need to comment on the general feel of the practice as I felt that i had been going there for years. Straight up friendly staff, warm and welcoming. A big change from what I was used to. This is an excellent place to bring your pets. Pros: Friendly staff, professional vets, family atmosphere more

Dr. Chapman is the BEST! 2/26/2010

I recently had occasion to accompany a friend to her vet because she was considering putting her dog down and did not want to be alone. Not having pets of my own, I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised, however, at the level of compassion shown by Dr. Chapman to my friend. I could tell he really felt what she was going through. He was very sympathetic and down-to-earth in giving my friend her pet's options. Both she and her dog seemed quite comfortable with him and I know she trusts his judgment when it comes to her pet. Dr. Chapman offered my friend some alternatives to putting her dog down and she seemed very relieved. I would recommend Philadelphia Animal Hospital and, specifically, Dr. Chapman, to anyone I know who is in need of a good veternarian. He's exactly the kind of doctor you'd want treating your best friend! Pros: Down-to-earth, compassionate, knowledgeable, Cons: None more

MY VET IS A LIFESAVER!!!! 11/25/2009

I was a client at another Vet Hospital for 7 years. My dog had an ongoing issue that had been misdiagnosed for many years leaving her quality of life very poor and at one point she nearly died! I live in New Jersey and thought a local Vet would be just fine, but My Sister insisted that I get an appointment with Dr. Rebbecchi. As soon he examined my dog he immediately knew that she was in grave condition. He ran several tests and knew with all certainty exactly what the problem was and what treatment she would require. It's been almost 1 year since my initial visit with Dr. Rebbecchi and I am happy to say that I have my Little Girl back to herself again acting like a puppy and I owe it all to Dr. Rebbecchi and the staff at Philadelphia Animal Hospital...Take it from me , its definitely worth the trip over the bridge , I WOULD NEVER go anywhere else!!!!! DR. REBBECCHI IS THE BEST !!!!!!! Pros: GREAT DOCTOR, GREAT STAFF! more

A CARING PLACE FOR YOUR PET 10/1/2009

I have been a patient of Dr. Larrys for the past 15 years with a total of 3 animals. Although the office is now some distance from my house, I would never consider taking my pets anywhere else. My pets are my only family and Dr. Larrys care and concern for them over the years has been a blessing. His staff is wonderful and caring and seem like they never have a bad day. The service is great and I can not remember the last time I was not seen on time. Most importantly, the staff is most concerned with the pet, rather than the finances. The pricies are very fair and have been so over the years, Dr. Larry will never sell you on something your pet does not need. He is an honest and caring man that is so approachable, gracious and honest. He is my vet no matter where I live. Pros: GREAT HOURS, GREAT STAFF, FAIR AND HONEST PRICING Cons: SMALLER OFFICE more

Great Vet! 6/8/2009

I have not yet been to the Wellinton Vet, but have been taking my dog to Dr. Niggemeier for years. I don't know if she was there when one gentleman said he had difficutly getting help for his cat due to lack of money. I know she is always willing to look at what is best for your pet yet not un-necessarily overextend your wallet or give options of affordability. I was happy to track her down at this new office of hers today for an unpleasant reason: A condition she diagnosed in my dog years ago has now reached a point where he must be put to sleep within a month. It is a gut wrenching decision, but she helped reassure me that I am doing the right thing. Though it is hard to accept, and will be harder to do, thanks to Dr. Niggemeier, I know I am making the best decision. She does care very much about the pets and their owners and is the only one I trust to help make such a big decision. I hope she is the one who is there to assist with this process, as it may help slightly. Pros: Caring Cons: Don't know yet more
