Philadelphia Animal Hospital

I don't generally take the time to write on these types of sites but I always check them out for a general review when I am going somewhere new and thought that I really needed to rebut the comment made by the person who wrote on 7/4/07. I realize that I am a relatively new client at this practice, having only been there just under a year but I do feel like I have a good sense of the place -- I have four animals and one in particular that is especially high maintenance -- so I feel confident that my experiences are representative of Dr. Rebbecchi's practice. I started going there because the prices were very reasonable and I don't like a high pressure atmosphere but always found Dr. R to be compassionate, patient and able to treat any of my pets problems as they arose. I can say without a doubt that the reviewer did not see Dr. R, who owns the place, because while it has always been busy when I have been there, I have never felt rushed or that my concerns were minimized or not taken seriously. In my opinoin, he is one of the most approachable professionals that you will ever meet and as I am in sales, I meet a LOT of people. Anyway, just thought I should share my view. Although Dr. Rebbecchi was on vacation, his associate was compassionate and knowlegeable. I was very satisfied with the visit and costs. The office was very busy and the girls at the desk very nice. I first went to Philadelphia Animal Hospital on the recommendation of other reviewers on this site. The reviewers were correct and i was very pleased with the whole experience. Everybody treated me and my dog with great respect, and there was no wait when i walked into the office. Dr. Rebbecchi was very professional, caring, and educating. I highly recommend this hospital!! Okay, I just had to write another review about Dr. Rebecchi since I took my 8 week old kitten to his facility this weekend (on February 10th). The staff was great and friendly, and the doctor was actually able to see me before my pet's scheduled appointment (I arrived 20 minutes early).. Dr. Rebecchi is such a smart, caring and gentle vet! He really handled my kitten with care and explained everythng he did while examining her, and he was very thorough. The cost of the exam and my kitten's vaccination was affordable as well. She is to go back in a month to receive another vaccination, and when I made an appointment before leaving the animal hospital, the staff was quite organized with the doctor's appointments, billing, etc. I most definitely recommend Dr. Rebecchi to anyone looking for a vet. His partner, Dr. Chapman, is an excellent vet too. Pros: Weekend hours, very clean, lots of parking, affordable fees, both vets are great with animals and are friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Cons: None that I can think of, although the facility does not accept personal checks, so be prepared to pay cash or by credit card. more

He came to my house on a Sunday morning to put my K9 down after I described what my K9 was experiencing, and then took my partner with him, how could anyone ask for a better Vet.. Those who are saying the facility is unclean, are liars simply put. Larry has put people on his payroll that are in bad financial strain and do odd jobs just to give back to him. Those malcontents do not remember Larry when he just started out under Conrad Roblejo(sic) on 63rd st. That's how long Larry has been in the community. Kudos to all the people at Philadelphia Animal Hospital and their ability to bring in specialists from U of P at less than half the price. I had been to 2 other vets, including the one who cared for my dog since birth. He had a limp for 3 months and no one could figure it out. Dr. Rebbecchi looked at the xrays and examined my dog and then recommended a Lime test. Well it was positive. He gave me antibiotics and I am happy to report my dog is doing MUCH BETTER. Dr. Rebbecchi was very kind, gentle and fair in his pricing. He solved the problem and he is now my regular vet. It also seems that everyone that I run into with a pet goes to him, and I can now see why. Pros: honest and fair Cons: none more
