I have come here for dinner twice. I found both the decor and staff to be pleasant. I don't know what people are complaining about in that respect. The steak, however, was not always great. The first time I came, the waiters brought a decent looking slab of beef, but once I bit into it, I discovered that the meat was sparsely arranged between a network of veins and fat. The pieces I could actually chew were quite tasty and tender, however. The second time around, the steak was more impressive. The filet side of the porterhouse was simply outstanding, and the strip was tender enough, but strangely lacking in flavor. That said, I would consider it a good steak, albeit not necessarily the best steak in New York. The spinach was very good both times. The cocktail shrimp were huge and fairly tasty. The tomato and onion salad was nothing to write home about, but it is a Luger tradition. Overall, I would say that coming here was a worthwhile experience, but it was not so great that I will be making the trip to Brooklyn too often.
Pros: Experience
Cons: Not quite as great as people say
