The worst customer service i have ever encountered..how is this place still in business? 3 staff members including the owner never even acknowledged me coming into the store..after you spend money,, then the owner wants to be friendly offering gift wrap at a small fee..what high end boutique charges for a paper bag & ribbon? That is cheap & tacky! I will drive 25 miles out of the way for my Nora Fleming this place is so rude! P.S..i did send my boyfriend there to get a few pieces of Nora Fleming for a holiday party so that he didnt have to go to Griffin to get it..i have never said anything to him about this store or how rude they are..i thought it may be different with him being a man & they know he would need help..he called me on the way home telling me he was in the store 5 min & 2 employees were chatting & they never said one word to him..he finally said he hated to interrupt their chat. I told him that is why i don't shop there anymore but i didnt want him to have to go so far..he said he would have travelled 50 miles & not given that store the satisfaction of his 200.00 he spent..i have told everyone that will listen to never shop here & for gods sake dont send in your husbands or boyfriends! more

I have been a loyal shopper at High Cotton since Jill opened her business. She has beautiful and quality inventory. I have never seen Jill be rude to a customer nor any of her associates. If your children have run through her shop and she has asked them to stop - where were you to discipline them?? If you used a product for months and then wanted a return, how can that be fair. In my opinion, maybe there is one disgruntled customer who has nothing more to do than post negative comments under various names. If it were me and I did not know the staff, I'd just have to pay a visit to check it out. You will have their undivided attention and want you to be satisfied with your purchases. I'm a very happy shopper - think I'll go there today!!! more

For everyone who has had a bad experience at High Cotton, and is looking for a place close by to buy Pandora, go to Town Square Jeweler's on the square in Fayetteville. They will treat you like a valued customer. more

I shopped in this store once before and had an awful experience. The owner looked down on me like I was ""beneath"" her and didn't have time to wait on my husband and I. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back a few months later (this past Saturday) and got the same snooty treatment (for no reason!). I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when the stores would not wait on her and asked her to leave. BIG MISTAKE - BIG MISTAKE!! From now on I will take my Pandora and Vera Bradley business to Perimeter Mall or the Mall of Georgia. At least they know how to treat customers with respect! more

My aunt was in town and she wanted to go shopping for charms. It was recommended for me to visit this shop. I hadn't been in this store in years and now I remember why! I had my 2 year old daughter and my aunt with me. As soon as I walked through the doors, I knew my daughter wasn't welcomed. We were followed through the whole store. My daughter was even accused of running around the store and putting her mouth on a Tervis cup. Seriously? That is kind of hard to do when she is being held or at my feet. Plus, I kept a very, very close eye on her because after being harassed several times already and followed, it was made very clear that the employees didn't want children in there. If my daughter had been doing those things, then that is a different story. However, that was not the case. It seemed to me that she was trying to do whatever she could to get us out of the store. I was told to leave and they threatened to call the police. Really??? They lost my business AND all of my friends' business. They will go buy Pandora elsewhere. I am still shocked at how the situation was handled. I am glad that there were witnesses. If children are not welcomed, then please place a sign. My daughter has been in all of the stores on the square in McDonough and has not had ANY problems. Why is this one any different? I will be shopping on the square from now on! more

WORST STORE EVER! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE..The staff is rude and they treat people like criminals. Go to Secret Garden on the square instead.I hope this place goes out of business soon. more

No customer service. There were two employees(one may have been owner or manager) and three customers when I entered the store. After ten minutes, neither employee acknowledged or welcomed me into the store. Did not ask if I needed help or even have the courtesy to simply say, ""I'll be with you shortly."" Absolutely nothing. As a professional, my goal is to treat my customers with the utmost respect. Therefore, I expect to be treated as a welcomed and valued customer. I highly recommend customer service training for this particular business. more

MEN DO NOT SHOP FOR YOU WIFE OR GIRLFRIEND HERE!!!!! They copied their return policy straight from Nazi Germany. They will not give you your money back only a store credit that must be used 90 days from the time you purchased the item you returned. I bought my wife some Pandora ear rings for roughly $250 not knowing about their return policy. She didn't like them and tried to return the unopened items, but cannot get her money back. Now she is forced to spend $200 dollars in store credit on things she doesn't even want. Not to mention that the service here was horrible. The staff is not friendly and the owner is by far the worst! I would rather shop at an open market in a third-world country! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/30/2012

I have shopped with Jill and her staff for years. She is protective of her store, yes, because she sells some valuable items. If you are courteous of her boutique, she is friendly. She has fussed at my kids before for touching in her store, but that doesn't make me like her store any less. Jill and her staff do work very hard to bring McDonough (and surrounding cities) what other stores in the county won't/don't (Pandora, Brighton, Vera Bradley, etc) because they don't want the overhead. I personally want to support the small businesses of the county and will continue to shop with her. Plus, I drive into Atlanta every day for work, why do it on the weekends to shop, too? more

Every time I've been in High Cotton I was treated as if I were a begger. I go in there every Mother's Day and Christmas and drop $200-$300 each time, and I've NEVER been helped and NEVER been smiled at. This past Mother's Day was my last visit. I decided I can purchase gifts somewhere else. I'm tired of supporting a place that does not give me respect or the time of day! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/30/2012

I agree completely with the last four posts! I was returning two items today and it will definitely be the last time I return to this store. I completely understand the return policy, but the way it is worded on the receipt leads one to think that you can get a store credit OR return the merchandise within 7 days. When I questioned it, the owner/worker became very RUDE and ANGRY with me. It should read "" All sales final!"" Again... I understand there are store policies, but the attitude you present towards a customer will bring those buyers back in--- no matter what! A smile and a pleasant attitude still go a long ways. It is a shame that this is the type of customer service that represented here. This store has so much potential, but with an empty parking lot and no one in the store today, I guess there are many who feel the same way as I do. more

Worst customer service ever! 5/26/2012

I am totally not surprised to see these post. I have been in the store numerous times. but today 5-26-12 will be my last. It is so sad that someone who has such a great little business can be so rude. I would tell anyone.... do not shop in this store. Save your self the heartache. She is totally in the wrong business. Sadly enough, she does not even realize how she is hurting herself and her customers. All I can say to her is, keep on running your business like you are, and it will only be a matter of time before your doors will close from lack of customer. more

BEWARE 5/21/2012

I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. May 21, 2012. I went to this store to purchase my daughter a Pandora Bracelet and charm. After deciding on which items to purchase, which totaled over $200, the sales person asked if i wanted the items gift wrapped. I said sure that would be great. She said okay and hit another key on the register. I asked if there was a charge for gift wrap and she stated ""yes $1.25."" I was shocked that there was a charge for gift wrap for a purchase of over $200, which consisted of a small bag (lunch bag size) and some tissue paper. (I know its only $1.25, its the principal). I laughed and asked if she was serious a $1.25, she asked me what was funny about gift wrap with a RUDE attitude. I told her nothing was funny about it, that I found it irritating that there was a charge for gift wrap for a purchase of over $200 of $1.25. ( If you are going to charge for something like gift wrap notify your customer before you ring it up.) Less than 30 seconds after she rang up my merchandise ( and I really mean less than 30 secs), I decided that I did not want to purchase the bracelet from that store or that salesperson, She informed me that she could only give store credit. (By the way I made a purchase in this same store for Mothers Day for $190.) I told her I did not want store credit I wanted a refund, and she stated it was store policy. I told her that if she did not give me a full refund then I would never shop there again. After a brief discussion, she kept my money, I left and will never return to this store again. I have 2 daughters, a wife, sister and mother with these types of bracelets, and make purchase every few months for one reason or another, however I will drive the extra mile to purchase these items and stay as far away from this store as possible in the future. They say word of mouth advertising is the best form or advertisement, and I plan on giving this store plenty of it!!! more

Unduly harsh customer treatment 5/15/2012

Today (May 15), I was shopping with my preteen daughter in this store for very specific and fun teacher gifts and a special birthday gift. We have been in this store before and know that it sells unique items. We made a special trip, driving 30 minutes to the store. I had recommended this shop to friends before, and, until today, would have continued to do so. While we were there, my daughter was looking at some scarves. She unfolded a couple to see what they looked like. She was within my eyesight and my ear shot. A sales person approached her and said, ""If you are going to play with those, the least you could do is fold them back up the way you found them. Go the extra mile."" Go the extra mile?????? My daughter quickly put the scarf back and walked five steps over to me with tears in her eyes. To be certain, I asked my daughter if she had just waded them up when she put them back. She said that she was not playing with them and had tried to fold it the way we fold towels at home. I spoke with the sales clerk about the issue, and apologized if we had caused her stress in looking at the scarves. She offered a forced smile, and stated, ""All I did was ask her to fold them when she put them back"", as if I could not hear what was said or my daughter could forget such a curt rebuke. It was completely unnecessary, unduly harsh, and eliminated our purchases today and in the future. No amount of unique and upscale merchandise is worth basic disregard and seething annoyance toward the customers. more

I'll Never Go Back! 5/10/2012

I won't be returning to this business after today's experience. I went to the store to buy my mother a gift for mother's day. I found an item, purchased it, and later went back to return it when I found something better. I specifically asked the woman if I paid with cash and the item went on my mother's account (they keep track of the items they have purchased) if she could return it. She said I could return the item if I needed to. She never went on to say that you only get a store credit. I didn't find out about this store's policy until I went to return the item that same day. It wasn't until that moment that she chose to point to the little picture frame posted on the wall (not in a place that people tend to look!) with the return policy. She never mentioned you can only get store credit and there was nothing close to me that stated it. Not to mention once you get the receipt with the policy on it, it is too late! Not only did she refuse to give me back my money but she then went on to call me a LIAR saying that i never asked if it could be returned. She was RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. Sadly, this is not the first time she has ever been rude to me. I will NEVER return to this store again and I don't recommend it! more

Return Policies 12/4/2011

In response to saveyshopper11 - having previously worked in retail for a long stint, refund/exchange policies are pretty standard, especially among smaller businesses such as this one. Returnable doesn't mean the same thing as refundable - and regardless of what was said verbally, whatever is printed on the receipt or perhaps on the wall of the store is what they will go by. Verbal agreements do not stand in the business world if there's a policy in writing somewhere, especially on the receipt. more

Proceed with CAUTION!!! 12/28/2010

Be very careful when shopping this store. My husband spent approximately $300 on a gift for me with the promise from the salesperson in the presence of the owner, stating it was returnable if his wife did not like it (as long as she did not wear it). As a man shopping, he just took her word for it prior to buying. When he tried to return it in brand new condition, as it was NEVER worn, the owner stated it was not refundable, only store credit. My husband stated he was not told that to which the owner replied, you should have asked! Really?? Like a man shopping for his wife is responsible for specifically asking using the word, refundable, credit back, cash back, etc..? Yes, the receipt states this, but the verbal statement/promise was made uh..prior receiving the receipt. Talk about deceptive. Now I have $300 dollars to spend in a store where the owner practically kicked him out of the store, was extremely RUDE as he only tried to get her to back her word, which apparently is meaningless!!! more
