I am the mother of one of Mr Beck's children and allow me stay that this doesnt suprise me one bit! I had no idea about all this until I was contacted by a family friend that had a dress ordered through this bridal company! This is not the first time that Mr Beck has stolen a large amount of money. Back in 2005 he stole a large amount of money from the Guthries Restaurant in Centerpoint Alabama. It is very unfortunate that someone like this would be allowed to work anywhere around money again. I couldnt imagine having my dress 'lost' like this. I will say that there were lots of warning signs! Also with three different women trying to chase him down for childsupport there is no way he would every be able to catch up in life. He tries to life the high life yet he cant afford it! Very Very unfortunate!! I say take him to court!! That way I can find him for childsupport lol... more

To all you ladies who were conned by this little terd, let me assure you. Ricky Beck is a con man. He's full of $h!+. He'll tell you all about the investment properties he owns and drives around in his little BMW SUV but the fact is, he DOES NOT PAY HIS BILLS!! There is no doubt in my mind, from first hand experience with this little dweeb that he simply took your money and never paid for the dresses. He had no problem spending over a week in Key West at New Years. Wonder how he afforded that....hmmmm. Claims right here on this forum, he left SIGNED CHECKS with someone else and they cashed them...C'mon Ricky....Guess that whole GA counterfeit drivers license thing was just a big misunderstanding too huh? I am Dee White of The Spoiled Lady of Columbia, and wanted to tell a little about my story! First of all I have had 27 yes 27 brides come to me in the last week seeking my help. Now, Mr. Beck if everything you indeed stated here about Mr. Knowles is true, might I ask you when you sold the store? We handed out over 20 gowns out of your store that YOU locked the doors on over the weekend, that were all paid for in full! I am sure the note that was posted on the door was from you, the one directing customers to call their designers and they would be recieveing their merchandise at no cost to them, Now Mr. Beck you claim to be a professional in this business and you and I both know that my friend was a LIE designers don't deal with customers if they did then why would there even be Bridal Shops! Mr. Knowles is a very respected man in the wedding industry and has a very sucessful tux business so incase you aren't aware, slandering his name on this website and in the text messages your wife sent to customers is against the law! Ok I am Ricky Beck and I think it's time for me to defend myself. Me and Krysta bought the store from Bob Knowles back in Nov 2008. He was have money problems so we bought it and took it over. Well from the start we didn't have any working captiol and also we had to pay for 20,000 in wedding gowns that was on order that wasn't paid for to the companies and also was paid in full to him. We were out the money. Also we never paid for the dresses untill they were shipped to the store.WE PAID COD. Also if you only paid half of your dress that means sometimes we have to pull from that to pay other bills. I could sit here and write ya'll a book. I wasn't out to steal anyone's money and I am working to get all this fixed. But with all the negative stuff going around it make me like why even try and fix it. Well lets move on. Unbelievable Story 9/5/2009

If you haven't heard about what Ricky (now no longer owner) has done to dozens of families its an unbelievable story. I don't know how anyone could be in the wedding industry and not know that this is an exceptionally important part of any brides Big Day and the way you work with your customers is extremely important! Ricky has basically been taking people's money and I feel that I was one of the lucky ones to get my bridal gown as my wedding is less than two months away. I have to say that his staff was wonderful and always helped in any way they could. They have also volunteered to help brides get their merchandise they've paid for! If you are bride in this position, The Spoiled Lady in Columbia are truly savors and doing everything out of the goodness of their hearts to help us! They have helped me locate my bridesmaids dresses and selling them to us at costs seeing as the position we are in is outrageous. I can't thank Dee and her father enough for all that they have done and the professionalism they bring to the table. Cons: Awful Management more

If you are one of the brides or anyone who has been conned by Stephen ""Ricky"" Beck and his wife, Krysta, owners of the Bridal Gallery of Franklin, and are looking to either receive merchandise or a full refund PLUS DAMAGES!!! then please join the fight against Mr. Beck. He was arrested in June and is a previous FELON who should be charged with his crimes, in addition to the fact that he is ruining your most important day. Please join the Facebook group ""Brides vs. Stephen Beck"" and look for updates on how to join in a suit against his wrongful actions. Pros: NONE!! Horrible Service!! 9/2/2009

I am a frustrated bride along witht the rest of you. I wanted to pass along that I went to The Spoiled Lady in Columbia & they were aware of the situation & doing everything they can to help these brides out, they located my dress and it is on its way there. They are only charging me what it costs them to get the dress in and advised me to dispute the charge on my credit card. I couldnt have asked for better customer service and compasion during this HORRIBLE ordeal. Whitney & Dee have gone above & beyond considering i didnt even use them as my bridal store, but would never recommend anyone but them again. Please the visit The Spoiled Lady in Columbia..they are wonderul! Cons: never received merchandise more

I find it very upsetting to see so many people quick to judge someone but very apprehensive to thank someone or compliment them on a job well done. I'm sorry each of you had an unpleasant experience at The Bridal Gallery, however, I did not! Mr. Stephen ""Ricky"" Beck, owner, can be rude at times, but all-in-all, he is a very decent and kind-hearted man. Krysta and Jeanie were both very helpful and very sweet as well. They helped me find the perfect dress for my wedding, listened to me ramble on about my horrible experience with David's Bridal, and even gave me a HUGE discount on my dress. Their quality, selection, staff, and prices are the best I've seen. Something about the store makes me really comfortable, not rushed or pressured to buy something. I love this place and I would recommend them to ANYONE and EVERYONE. PS. Despite the drama that I'm sure all of us have seen on the news or read in the paper, keep in mind that the media has a tendency to exaggerate things and turn their stories around. Everyone has their ""past"" and whether that is the case here, don't be quick to judge him until you meet him. He is a very nice man and means well regardless of his attitude, hey! What man doesn't have an attitude?!! But please note, that his ""past"" or ""problems"", if that is even what it is, has no reflection on his business and how they conduct it. Give them a try .. I would be willing to bet my life that you will be pleasantly surprised!! :) God is love - Tabitha I feel like the Bridal Gallery is my 2nd family!! Ha. Save yourself and Don't shop here. 5/22/2009

Bridal Gallery has been bought out and the new owners have a lot to learn. The only reason why I am giving them 2 stars is because they gave me a break on my wedding dress. ALL my bridesmaid dresses came in late (a week and a half before my wedding!!!) And the groomsmen tuxes weren't ready until two nights before wedding! This was because ""it's prom season and they are really busy."" I don't care if it's freaking prom season b/c I ordered these tuxes 3-4 months in advance and there shouldn't be any excuse why they aren't in at least a week before the wedding. Secondly, they don't know how to measure correctly... 5 groomsmen had to go back and exchange their tuxes... All 9 of my girls dresses were too big. It wouldn't be a problem to get them altered but since they came in so late we had to go through bridal gallery who charged $60-$70 a dress!!! This is almost half of the price we paid for them. My husband had to return his rental shoes because the pair they gave them had a huge hole on top of it. You would think they would at least look at the shoes before passing them out... Especially to the groom! The ladies were nice and helpful. But the owner was rude. I think with all the BS they put us through they would at least do free alterations for my bridesmaids or something to satisfy their costumers. PLEASE save yourself the hassle and don't go through them. Your wedding already takes a lot of planning, don't make it more stressful for yourself. I just think that your marriage is a happy time and they made me so upset I that I wanted cried. Just do yourself a favor and don't shop here. more

I went to the Bridal Gallery after searching EVERYWHERE for a bridal gown. I have curves and the staff said I could try on a size 4 to ""see what it looked like"". When I finally agreed to this I was placed in a room to try the dress on and was offered no help and was extremely embarrassed while trying to squeeze my size 12 body into a size 4. I left the store feeling horrible about myself. NO bride should be treated like this or feel this way!!! Go elsewhere if you are not a size 4!!! Pros: Location Cons: Rude sales people more

UNABLE TO REFUND FOR ITEMS BRIDE NEVER RECEIVED 4/28/2009

While in the store my sister and I had a great experience. I was able to find a headpeice that was perfect for quite a bit less than I had seen in other shops/internet. My sister bought me a levely bracelet to wear for my wedding reception. I also found a great pair of shoes, butthey did not have in my size in the store . They charged my card (over 100.oo) and said they would order them the next business day. I received a call that the shoe had been discontiued. I asked that they refund my card and was told they were unable to do so and a refund check would be mailed. 3 weeks nad several phone calls to the shop later I have received no check. There have been mulitple excuses, but no action. I can not even get the owner to call me personally despite repeated requests. I would not do business again with this shop nor recommend them! LOST GOWN 4/4/2009

The Bridal Gallery of Franklin began carrying the line of dress I had looked at for 2 years. No one else near Tn. carried this line. I went to the trunk show, found ""the dress"" and paid for it in full. I got a phone call from them two months before the wedding saying the dress had shipped and should be in the store by the end of that week... I am now, THREE weeks away from my wedding and my dress has been lost for a month. The store people aren't telling me anything. They only say ""we'll call you as soon as we LOCATE it"". ""Don't worry."" Yeah right, any bride to be knows how easy it is to set aside all fears... especially when it comes to having your wedding dress on time and fitting well. I just hope they make it right at this point. No phone calls yet, not even to say we're working on it... If you want a stress free gown experience, I would probably go somewhere that really cares about it. Pros: carried the dress I wanted Cons: Salespeople and owner!!! more

Incredibly Unprofessional and rude staff...Not worth your time 1/24/2009

I went to Bridal Gallery of Franklin several months ago only to be severely disapointed. The selection was subpar and the staff was worthless. Once I had picked out several dresses I was brought to the dressing area which was small and cramped. The consultant left my mother and I to put on the dresses (which neither of us had done before). No additional help was given after that and my mother had to search the sales floor in order to try on veils. The owner has no idea what inventory they have and in my opinion is a bumbling idiot. He is completely rude and clueless as to how to treat customers. I would, under no circumstance whatsoever, shop at this store again. I was completely UNDERwhelmed by the staff, management and dress selection. I ended up purchasing my dress at Jacqueline's Bridal in Nashville which was a wonderful experience. Great Service and attention to detail. 7/7/2008

I read the reviews here and was nervous about trying out the store. However, I was shopping around for the best deal and decided to give it a try. I was really surprized about how professional the girls in the store were and how up to date with the latest trends and fashions the manager, Angela, was. She even gave me some great money saving ideas. I told her about how I hadn't expected too much given some of the reivews I read and it turns out that the store, while it retained it's name was bought by another bridal store and is under completely new management. Anyway, I ended up getting my dress there and I was 100% satisfied. I would definitely recommend this store. Went elsewhere 2/14/2008

From the moment I arrived I felt like i was being rushed. They told me to pick a few dresses and come on back to the fitting rooms. I did so and went back. The dressing rooms are tiny and just have a curtain. Barely enough room for 2 people (takes 2 people to put on most wedding dresses.) I put on the dresses walked out and my consultant never said a word just stared at me. So i tried on another one.. same response.. nothing. While i was tring on dress 3 a walk-in bride showed up and my consultant went to help her. After that I was no longer being helped. As my mother and I stood there waiting for my consultant to talk to me we noticed she was talking and interacting and helping the walk in more. I did find a dress me and my mother loved, and when I finally got my consultant's attention again i ask her about how to order it. She asked me my size and i told her i didnt know because none of the size 6-8 dresses would zip on me. I then asked of she would measure me to see what size i would need. She measured me right there at the register infront of everyone.. how embarrising. I had on heavy clothing too. She measured me at a size 18, and told me I at that size i would have pay an upcharge for a bigger size. I didnt think the size was right because she measured me with my winter clothes on. I left feeling unhelped and frustrated. I went to a more people friendly shop, found the exact dress for 250.00 cheaper and got into and zipped a perfect size 12! Glad I left FBG, if i had ordered a size 18 dress and waited 3-4 months for it to come in and be way too big I would have cried. Pros: Selection was ok. Cons: Staff and building more

Do Not Use The Bridal Gallery of Franklin 11/4/2007

I was a bridesmaid for my best friends wedding and she picked dresses from here. These are the most unprofessional people i have ever encountered. They were rude to everone including the mother of the bride. They ruined my dress and it was one week before thewedding. They did refund my alteration fees, but they did not refund any money on my nearly 200.00 dollar dress. They flat out refused. I could do nothing more than wear the dress as it was or pay to have someone else fix it. This was after four trips from Murfreesboro to Franklin for alterations and mis-fittings. They were not only rude but insulting as well, telling me that they weren't magicians and couldn't put my body in that dress as well as some other hurtful things. Mind you this was to my face, as well as behind my back. I was unable to throw a complete fit as they still had another bridesmaids dress and we felt they would ruin her's on purpose. Do not use them for anything. The stress and frustration that was caused as well as the money put out was horrible. Save yourself the time and energy and deal with more professional vendors. Don't buy from this bridal shop!! 10/2/2007

I would not recommend this bridal store. I ordered my bridesmaid's dresses from here and the service had been awful. They refused to give me a fabric swatch until I complained to the manager. One of the bridesmaid dresses came in damaged, which is not their fault. However, instead of trying to help us, they tried to convince us it was fine. Getting alterations there has been a nightmare. They will not do alterations if you have taken the dress home, but they don't tell you this before you leave with the dress. They are difficult to schedule alterations with. Twice the alterations person has either not shown up or canceled and appointment. Also, they have been rude to me, my mother and my bridesmaids. I'm so sorry I ordered my bridesmaids have had to deal with this place. I will never shop here again. Pros: Selection Cons: Disorganized, not helpful, rude more

I have mixed feelings 8/1/2007

I got married there in 2003. I love the wedding chapel and the reception area, that was beautiful. However, my wedding planner left about 2 months before my wedding. The lady that took over didn't see or look at the things that my first wedding planner had made. At the reception we were missing drinks, peanuts, mints, etc. She said I was suppose to bring things and that is not what I agreed to. I know they were little things, but a lot of little things add up to be big things. It's a beautiful place, but I can't recommend it for a wedding. It's all about details on your wedding day, and they looked over a lot of details on my wedding day. I was disappointed. Especially for the money that you pay. more
