I know that most people don't take the time to post a review, especially a favorable one, I on the other hand was asked by both Jeremiah and Josh that if I had the time to please post a review based on my experience with their firm. After reading through literally hundreds of reviews and BBB categories for many companies, I chose AVL Moving Systems based not on all of the reviews, but on the communication and the way they handled my calls, questions, emails and any concerns I had during the "courting" stage. Jeremiah was honest and lead me through every possible charge I could have, he informed me of best and worst case scenarios as far as delivery went and put me at ease with the entire process. I can't speak for everyone that AVL Moving relocates, but I can speak for myself and with me, they did an outstanding move, gave me a very competitive price and I would very much recommend this company. We just moved this weekend and this was our first time using a moving company. A friend of mine recommended them, and thank goodness she did. I called a few other places to get the low-down on costs and such, and one other place actually answered the phone, but they were such a hard sell (and didn't pay attention to the details during our conversation) that I decided not to bother with them. They were very straight-forward, and they did not do the hard sell at all. In the end, they ended up being cheaper than the other places (that all said they were the cheapest), and the service was phenomenal. At precisely the agreed-upon time, two big guys showed up, one who looked like he might be a bass player in a rock band on the weekends (but for you rock-band-phobic folks, he was totally professional and polite), and the other like he might be a beach bum on the weekends (also very professional and polite). They worked fast, and considering that they had two flights of stairs to work with, I was VERY impressed. They treated my more delicate things with gentleness and care, and were very patient with me during the whole process, which I imagine could be hard to do when it's hot outside, and your lugging someone else's stuff up and down stairs all day. When they unloaded my stuff into the apartment, they didn't just drop it all in one spot, they took care to deliver the boxes and furniture to their appropriate rooms and they even helped me set up the bed again. These guys were magnificent and I HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone in this area needing moving assistance. In all, a 4.5 hr day (with a 45-min drive) came out to just under $591.None but the movers from AVL Moving Systems more

Don't wait. Don't search around. Book AVL Moving Systems now! Just had the best experience with these guys! As I am moving out-of-state, I hired these guys for loading only. They were awesome in every way. Booking was easy. Service on email/phone polite. Quote very reasonable. Loaders arrived on time. Super fast workers. Let me say that again: Super fast workers! Cleared out my 2 bedroom onto truck, disassembled a large shelf, took racks off kitchen wall and even helped take garbage/old furniture out to dumpster all in 1 1/2 hours! Adjusted rate for the actual time they worked and even parked the truck for me. They were friendly, had good senses of humor, and easy on the eyes ;-) Give these guys your business. After searching literally dozens of moving companies,brokers and even do-it-yourself options such as u-pack and pods we narrowed our options down to two other options and really chose AVL Moving Systems based on their price being almost a thousand dollars less than other companies.They were professional and really a polite bunch of gentleman that took every step to ensure that this relocation was great. I have NEVER had a move go so smoothly in my life! I have moved many times and this was the easiest, most carefree relocation ever. This was possible only because of AVL Moving Systems .The "best" movers in the city. Not only were the movers really nice guys, but they actually did run from the truck to my place, between loads. They were careful with my stuff and even helped me shift it around my new home. Heck they came in $100 under quote . . . so that made for a sweet tip for them! And they REALLY deserved it. These guys are the Fire n Flame of the industry ....Extremely professional and courteous... . a smooth, easy move indeed! more

Usually when I move, I make it ridiculously impossible for myself. Refusing to pack things into boxes, justifying holding onto unnecessary possessions because "I might need them someday," spreading out the process over a month instead of getting it done in a day...you get the picture. Not anymore! For my last move, Moving from San Mateo to Los Altos I had to start changing my ways - and that meant hiring professional movers. I found AVL Moving Systems on Yelp and could NOT have been happier with the results! Everything was transparent from the start..It was truly a wonderful experience to move with these people..obtaining an accurate quote, knowing how many guys/hours it would take...which I really appreciated. The guys from this company AVL Moving Systems were awesome and great problem solvers - even when people on my street decided to ignore the "no parking - Moving zone" signs, they thoroughly had to walk my furniture down the block :( So to sum it up: awesome dudes, extremely fair pricing, your possessions will be safe, and your friends won't hate you for making them strap your couch to the roof...... I feel compelled to add my two cents, just because I really, really want this company to succeed. When they say it's an "athletic Moving company," they are not joking. The young strapping men they send look like tri-athletes. They do really run - lope, even. They are genuinely nice. Everything you've heard is true on the other websites. I just didn't find anything interesting on yelp about them. But I thought I would give them a chance, as they promised me that if I am not satisfied with their job, they would do a full refund. Even when we ran into a little snag (my apartment company, in its infinite wisdom, decided to paint the DOORFRAMES to my apartment, rendering the AVL boys unable to get my sofa in without ruining it with black paint), they handled it with aplomb. One of the movers kept apologizing, even though the problem had nothing to do with him. It all turned out fine - we just left the sofa in the hallway and I moved it in later after the paint was dry. Hiring AVL Moving Systems is like hiring your friends to help you move - if you had really nice, fast, superhumanly strong friends who didn't bitch about carrying boxes up stairs. Their prices are also very reasonable. My move took 3 hours to the minute (even with the sofa/doorframe snafu), and after tip and everything included, it was $300. You shouldn't really waste your time checking out other companies. Just call AVL. more

This was our 5th move in 10 years and was by far the easiest and most professional of all of them. Our consultant Eric was very professional and guided us through the entire process and showed us how to check out other movers that were quoting us and opened up our eyes and apparently from making a huge mistake by choosing another company. The movers themselves were awesome and really showed they cared about customers by the way they prepped our furniture and items and also by asking us if we wanted to follow them to the weighing station to view our truck weight. We declined and they told us that we were actually 600 lbs. less than quoted and that our price was less. It was only $120.00 less but it was less which was far better than owing more. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a great moving company and when we move again we will be using AVL Moving Systems. more

AVL Moving Systems has saved us a ton of money and headaches by helping move us out after being stuck by another company last minute. First we booked with a terrible moving company based out of California who after researching them after they failed to meet our pick up 3 times in a row, we found they were notorious for not showing up for pick-ups, ripping customers off and holding their items hostage! We had to be out of our home and were supposed to be picked up on the 26th or 27th the other company never called or communicated with us or returned any calls that we made to them, finally someone answered the phone and said it would be the 28th and nobody called or showed up on the 28th. We contacted AVL Moving on the 28th in the afternoon and spoke with one of the guys Eric and we told him we had to absolutely be out of our home by the 30th and if they couldn't help us then don't even bother. He said he could definitely have us picked up on the 29th or 30th for sure. we went ahead and placed our reservation with AVL and they assured us we would have a call from a driver at some point either that afternoon or the following day. A driver called us late on the 28th and said he was roughly 700 miles away and had to stop for the night shortly but would head toward us and be at our house around 5 or 6 the next day and he could start working if we allowed it if it wasn't too late.He called again in the morning and said he was making good time,at 7:20 driver showed up and did a real killer job. Although he was tired from driving and working it didn't show at all. He was incredibly pro during the entire packing and loading and his helper Steve was very quiet but polite and very fast.We are so grateful that AVL Moving Systems did exactly what they promised and although we haven't received our property yet, we are sure it will be fine and we know that we are in good hands. These movers are really awesome and we saved a lot of money and stress by finally choosing them, I just wish we chose them in the first place. more

Courteous, efficient and professional are a few words that come to mind when I think of AVL Moving Systems. We recently sold our home and had to put most of our possessions in storage. Promptly and without deliberation, AVL moved the contents of our home into a storage facility. I was impressed with the precision, organization and carefulness they exhibited during the lengthy process. they choreographed the move so beautifully and did not mar a single wall. I will soon be moving into a new home and have already contacted AVL Moving to move my possessions, again. AVL Moving Systems definitely surpassed my expectations! more

When we were searching for a mover our biggest fear was being ripped off and being held hostage until we paid some ungodly amount of money. So needless to say we did our research for a month until we came up with AVL Moving Systems as our choice to move us from San Luis Obisbo to Dayton . Our quoted price was $3,500 and based on the estimate they would deduct money if we were less weight and add money if we weighed more. We were also told about packing and what to pack and we did all that to not be charged any extra and wound up owing a little less but its still better than owing a little more. Ely was our driver and even though he had a fairly thick accent he was easy enough to understand and very friendly. Anyway, delivery was great and after all is said and done, we are unloaded and unpacked and very happy with AVL Moving Systems and are also happy to write this review . My husband and I have never written a review on anything, we purchase just about everything over the internet via Amazon, Ebay and a plethora of other websites since we are at the age where we simply don't feel the need to get out as much as we used to for shopping other than groceries. We had just recently did a total restoration of our second home which we were moved into by AVL Moving Systems and had a myriad of contractors do work on it from electricians, roofers, drywall people, hardwood flooring installers, painters etc. AVL Moving Systems impressed us in such a positive way that we felt it was the right thing to do and we were also asked to review them on several websites to which we gladly obliged. From our sales rep Eric , to the driver and crew members, Matthew and Michael, all the way through the line, customer care and the insurance department, they were all so nice and professional. We moved out of our home of over 30 years to a smaller second home formerly used as a vacation home, since the children are all grown up and have kids of their own, we no longer need a home of such large proportions so we sold our home and moved into the other. We were referred to this company by our niece that used them to move her family a year or so ago and were so impressed with their services she told us we had to use them.We moved from a 7,800 square foot home in Charlotte, NC to a smaller 3,500 square foot home in Laguna Hills, CA and some items would be dropped off at our sons home in Lexington, SC where their company is located and some items were to be dropped along the way in Pearland, TX to our other sons' home and the rest would be delivered to our home in California and a storage locker close by. We set up for the pick up on Saturday November 14th and delivery was to be no later than Tuesday November 30th and Eric said this would be no problem.They arrived promptly at 7am to begin and it took a full day and a half packing and loading with 3 men. We stayed the entire time to do last minute items around the home and watched these men and can say this for certain, we are glad that we could afford moving men because it was an incredibly large task. All deliveries went as smooth as a move could go. The delivery to South Carolina was the next day, followed 2 days later by the drop-off in Texas and 4 days later we were delivered in California. We have not gone through the items delivered into storage and probably won't for quite awhile but as for the items delivered to us and our sons, there was not a bit of damage. We could not be happier with the company we chose and the greatest part of it all is that we were expecting to have a higher end balance when in fact it was several hundred dollars less than we were quoted. Very honest folks at this company and we will surely spread the good word on AVL Moving Systems. more

I was very impressed with the moving crews energetic level and strength. My move went very well with AVL Moving Systems and I thank them for all their hard work and and kindness.It is my pleasure to be able to write a review in this site. Something that is good for me might not prove good for others as well. So whoever may go with this company,I will tell you that i am sure you will not regret about your selection. Their prices are a little higher than some other companies but I assure you that it is well worth it when you take into account the quality of the services. If you ever have to move, use AVL Moving Systems ! They are by far THE BEST Moving company I have ever used. Believe me, I have used many in the California area in the last 16 years. From the first email inquiry for an estimate to making payment after my move, every person at AVL Moving is completely professional and courteous! They know exactly what to do. They don't dawdle for even one second! They finished my move from a 2nd floor walk up to a 2nd floor walk in 3 hours flat! Amazing! And they were so careful! Not one thing was broken! From this point on, I wouldn't use anyone else! more

They quoted a price of $1200 to move 8 boxes, 2 beds, 1 dresser and and 1 chest from LA to Atlanta. Their quote states it does not include packing materials. I didn't think there would be much packing materials on these items, wrong! On the day of the move they added in all this unnecessary packing materials (I've moved many times, only company to do this) My price went from $1200 to over $1600. That's a 35% increase. Most companies use moving blankets, they had to make boxes and use shrink wrap and their "special tape" at extreme prices. more

This is my first review of any company, but these guys were so good, I thought they really deserve my applause. They made what could have been a horrible situation almost fun. We were dismantling our family home and the furnishings were to be divided between me and my three "Greedy Sisters" and one Brother.We had decided before moving day that was to get what and where it was going. Come moving day, last Saturday, two of my Greedy Sisters, started backing out on the agreements, and telling the movers to pull stuff off the trucks and change things, etc. etc. It got really nasty. My brother started yelling" I hate this family! This is why I never got married!" And he left. The fighting continued. The foreman on the job called his office, as the job had to stop. the owner appeared twenty minutes later, and through his kind reassuring presence he calmed down my sisters, we talked about the difficulty of letting go of a family home.Within half an hour, we didn't care who got what furniture wise. My greedy sisters were no longer greedy, I no longer hated them. The moving job continued and it still came in as agreed price wise. Everything arrived in perfect shape.The movers were good and most important they were kind. Moving, changing is so traumatic. We felt so lucky to use this company.They did a lot more then move us. They healed us. They are true professionals. People say that if a fish stinks look to hits had. In this case if a fish is terrific look to its head.All this shows is the care, concern and decency we received from this firm. the office, mirror their bosses warmth too, and the man who came out to give us our on-site estimate was thorough (and also gorgeous).Can't say enough well about AVL Moving Systems.Thank You! more

AVL Moving Systems - Best moving company ever. Before the movers showed up I was panicking, we weren't in as good shape as I wanted to be. I even said to my husband "what if the movers show up and they're pissed??? what do we do???" I was a wreck. I don't handle moving well, obviously. Anyway the guys showed up and they had the best attitude ever. They were friendly, jokey, laughing the whole time, made the whole thing seem easy. They moved everything, didn't break anything, didn't scuff up our just refinished hardwood floors at our new place. They came in under what they quoted. I think the thing that makes AVL Moving Systems stand out-- aside from reasonable prices, efficiency and not breaking anything-- is their GOOD ATTITUDE. You think of movers as surly, and these guys were the opposite of that. Super nice. Their pleasant manner was a silver lining on one of the most stressful days I've had in years. more

The move had no complications, they were perfect with time and our items were received within a week of picking up, in perfect packaging. We will use them ever again for moving. These guys AVL Moving Systems almost make me want to move again, just so I can hire them again. Absolutely impeccable service - they called just before arriving, were on time, explained rates & policies clearly & quickly, and were loading up the truck in no time! They packed the truck like a tetris board - no wasted space anywhere, and nearly everything we owned fit (they had previously warned us it might not based on the sheer volume). The entire move, including drive time took less than 2 hours - no breaks, no standing around, nothing like previous movers I've used - they really do run up & down stairs. While carrying 2 50-lb boxes of books at a time. They also moved a giant love-seat that was already at the new place into a different room & offered to help with any other labor/rearranging while they were there. (I rather wish now that I had taken them up on that offer.) They were done faster than estimated, adjusted the very reasonable rates accordingly, and went on their way. I hate moving with a passion, and was running on about 2 hours of sleep and dealing with other stressors that morning - these guys (Tommy, Ben, and Tristan) made the day so much more pleasant. more
