Avl Moving Systems

I would highly recommend using AVL Moving Systems for all your moving needs. I researched many companies before I committed to using them and they were slightly more expensive on and hourly basis than other movers I had researched but from what I heard on the street (or YELP) is that they were highly efficient, professional, and polite. I had noticed from my email conversations prior to committing with them that they were very quick to respond to all my questions, mostly annoying questions, and never once did it seem like they were trying to pressure me into using them. Other companies I researched were very pushy and I don't need that. Moving is already a stressful time and AVL seemed to work with me, while other companies were just trying to work me. So once I committed to using them they gave me a call a week before the move to ensure that my inventory was still similar to what I had originally told them. I much appreciated this because this gave me confirmation that they would be there during moving day. On moving day they gave me a call 15 minutes before they arrived just to let me know that they were on there way. They did make it 5 minutes later than what was originally scheduled but once they got there they got straight to working. It was a three man crew, so while one gentlemen (I think his name was Austin) was having me fill out the necessary paper work, the other two guys had already put my queen sized bed into the truck. So far so good. They gave me an estimated time of 4 hours for a 2 bedroom apartment but I had no doubt in my mind that it would be much quicker than that. They were very good about wrapping everything and if it was important to us they would put a moving blanket on it and then wrap it. They were very careful about not damaging any of our items and once they put our items in the truck they RAN back into the apartment to get the next load. I was very impressed. 2 hours later, yes I did say 2 hours, half of what they estimated, they had everything unpacked into my new apartment with not a scratch on a single item. A few tips to help them move faster is to try and consolidate all your big furniture into one area so they can basically see everything they need to pack and if any any of your furniture comes apart it might be a good idea to take it apart before they get there. Because if they can't pack it easily, they may have to take it apart themselves and that could cost you some time, which equates to money. Again, moving with AVL was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend using them. They may be slightly more expensive on an hourly basis than other movers but I guarantee you you'll actually save money because they, without any doubt, will move your stuff more quickly than any other movers. more

We LOVE these guys...AVL Moving Systems . We have nothing but AWESOME things to say about their service from booking to moving. They are professional, prompt, fast, courteous, caring, strong, reliable, always thinking, and just the freaking nicest people ever. They really protect and care about your belongings. I found them from a neighbor that was moving in. The guy that used their service also had tonnes of good things to say about them as well. I was 5 months pregnant when we moved and they just made our moving experience so easy and less stressful. We had heavy furniture and a huge glass dining table. They helped to wrap and move it with extra care. I will definitely be using them again if/when we move. I've used 3 other moving companies in the past before coming to know about this company, and nothing compares to these guys.. not even close.. I love the name AVL !! more

Don't wait. Don't search around. Book AVL Moving Systems now! Just had the best experience with these guys! As I am moving out-of-state, I hired these guys for loading only. They were awesome in every way. Booking was easy. Service on email/phone polite. Quote very reasonable. Loaders arrived on time. Super fast workers. Let me say that again: Super fast workers! Cleared out my 2 bedroom onto truck, disassembled a large shelf, took racks off kitchen wall and even helped take garbage/old furniture out to dumpster all in 1 1/2 hours! Adjusted rate for the actual time they worked and even parked the truck for me. They were friendly, had good senses of humor, and easy on the eyes ;-) Give these guys your business. You will be thankful that you did. more

AVL Moving Systems - Simply the best! Don't bother hiring anyone else!! 1) Their price was by far the lowest estimate I got. And after their job was done, since they finished quickly, they charged me LESS than their original estimate! Unheard of with other companies! 2) Their prices are likely low because they give you the right number of people for the job (unlike another company which gave me FIVE guys for no reason). They also round by 15 minutes... so if your move takes 2 hrs, 10 minutes, they're only charging you for that time instead of rounding up to 3 hrs! 3) The movers were friendly, polite, funny, and the epitome of professional. One of the movers gashed his hand open on my furniture. After taking a 90 second break to bandage his hand and put on a glove, he was back to working full-speed! 4) They literally sprint to the truck! They were amazingly fast! Highly recommended! They make the horribly stressful experience of moving infinitely more tolerable and pleasant! more

One word about AVL Moving Systems ...PHENOMENAL. This was by far the easiest and fastest move I've had. The online form was great, and they didn't stalk me like some other moving companies have done in the past. They beat my online quote almost by 50%. It could have been attributed to my impeccable packing skills no doubt. I don't mess around when it comes to packing and knowing that you charge by the hour. . Overall a great experience and if I ever need to move again (Let's hope not), I'll certainly be giving them a call! (And sending them a ton of referrals!) AVL MOVERS were just awsome !! more

I had a great experience with these movers -AVL Moving Systems and would recommend them to anyone making a move, whether it's two blocks away, or two cities away. The initial quote turned out to be way more than what the actual cost to me was. I kind of figured this ahead of time, based on their comment of wanting to be as conservative as possible. The two guys and their truck showed up early, and started getting to work immediately. Other yelpers have commented on how the movers literally run from the truck to your place, and they're not kidding. They were sprinting back from loading boxes onto the elevator to my unit. I had one item that was slightly damaged in the move process, but the guys worked out a discount on the move price due to this. The guys also apologized multiple times for the damage as they take pride in being excellent movers. Overall, these guys are great and making your move an efficient and quick one. They do care about their customer and are not just hustling to get to the next move. A great experience and recommended for anyone in the CALIFORNIA region. more

I have NEVER had a move go so smoothly in my life! I have moved many times and this was the easiest, most carefree relocation ever. This was possible only because of AVL Moving Systems .The "best" movers in the city. Not only were the movers really nice guys, but they actually did run from the truck to my place, between loads. They were careful with my stuff and even helped me shift it around my new home. Heck they came in $100 under quote . . . so that made for a sweet tip for them! And they REALLY deserved it. My family and I moved through AVL Moving Systems. We had a very pleasant experience with them from beginning to end. They did a perfect job, from the packing and loading to the unloading. The charges, especially for packing materials are extremely high ($500 out $1000 for ducking tape and shrink wrap). So I suggest to stay away, especially because this seems to be the main source of income for AVL's business. Below is the whole story. When I ordered the service I told them that I'm going to pack everything myself. And we WERE fully packed - everything in taped and sealed boxes. The movers still managed to use 14 rolls of duct tape to seal the already sealed boxes. They definitely could use less. However, my main problem came from the fact that when I spoke to AVL on the phone, they told me about charges for packing materials and I asked them: "if we are fully packed, this is probably going to be negligible, right?". They confirmed this statement. However the summary of charges that I got clearly showed that packing materials summed-up to almost $500 (!!!), more than the charges for packing and transportation time!!! This by all means can not be considered negligible. I was expecting it to be $100, $200, maybe $250 - but definitely not $500. The main cost for materials was due to the shrink wrapping, which is a per-item charge - $25 per piece, and I only fully realized this when the bill was presented to me. If this costs so much - wasn't the foreman supposed to tell me what they are going to wrap?? The movers wrapped 13 pieces of furniture, while some of them absolutely didn't require any wrapping - it could go as is, or with just some white paper on the corners (it's was not new furniture anyway). If starting to be picky it looks like I was charged 4 times for the same work: 1. I paid for the moving time in general 2. Additionally I paid for the unnecessary wrapping material 3. Additionally I paid for the time it took to do the unnecessary wrapping 4. On top all that I paid 9% fuel charges - aren't those supposed to be only for the packing/moving time and NOT for the packing materials? I was planning at a cost of $600-$750, but with the packing materials going through the roof and the fuel charges being added on top of all other charges it went up to a $1000. So my recommendation - choose service that will charge you fixed price, and stay away for AVL System Movers. When I told them the above story, they first promised to get back to me, but never did so and were just dragging me, until they just stopped responding to my emails. Greedy, greedy, greedy - this all I can say. more

I don't know about other movers, but AVL Moving Systems did a hell of a job relocating my 3 bedroom's furniture to New York! AVL gave me the best rate out of other competitors which was the primary reason they were chosen. The staff is very professional and a pleasure to have conversation with. And MOST importantly the furniture was transported safely and quickly in 2.5 weeks! Icollected 2 moving quotes from this site. Both moving companies were good enough to arrange for a problem free move but I selected the moving company depending on their years of experience. The movers were really pleasant to work with. They picked us up as they were supposed to and also delivered on time. There was no major problems faced during the move. We will use AVL Moving Systems for our future move as well. more

I feel compelled to add my two cents, just because I really, really want this company to succeed. When they say it's an "athletic Moving company," they are not joking. The young strapping men they send look like tri-athletes. They do really run - lope, even. They are genuinely nice. Everything you've heard is true on the other websites. I just didn't find anything interesting on yelp about them. But I thought I would give them a chance, as they promised me that if I am not satisfied with their job, they would do a full refund. Even when we ran into a little snag (my apartment company, in its infinite wisdom, decided to paint the DOORFRAMES to my apartment, rendering the AVL boys unable to get my sofa in without ruining it with black paint), they handled it with aplomb. One of the movers kept apologizing, even though the problem had nothing to do with him. It all turned out fine - we just left the sofa in the hallway and I moved it in later after the paint was dry. Hiring AVL Moving Systems is like hiring your friends to help you move - if you had really nice, fast, superhumanly strong friends who didn't bitch about carrying boxes up stairs. Their prices are also very reasonable. My move took 3 hours to the minute (even with the sofa/doorframe snafu), and after tip and everything included, it was $300. You shouldn't really waste your time checking out other companies. Just call AVL. more

I have moved almost a dozen times in my life and never has it gone even half as smoothly as it did withAVL Moving Systems !! they showed up on time, which was 7am so no easy feat. they were friendly, funny, and most importantly FAST. they loaded our entire 1 bedroom apartment onto the truck in 45 minutes. the entire move start to finish, with travel time, took them under two hours!! it was just unbelievable how fast they moved! I have told all my friends who are about to move (its that time of the year) that there's no other way to go than with AVL ! shout-outs to Tug boat, Benji, and The Rock! thanks for doing such an amazing job!! more

Although they were not my initial moving company they were tops on the list and when my first company did not show up on time we called AVL Moving Systems and asked them to help us. They had one of their movers contact us and set us up for a same day pick-up. They picked us up later in the evening which was fine considering we had to be out that day. Great movers!! They helped us pack and charged because the original company never told us we had to pack and AVL Moving told us that was an old trick. They gave us a very reasonable price for packing 45 boxes for $500.00 the price should have been $700.00 according to their price list. Again, very good company and honest was the most important thing. If you call them and use them I am sure you are making a good choice. more

The reason I hired this company was because of the great reviews!I've moved many times in my life, and I can vouch that these guys are the real deal.AVL Moving Systems are really the best !! I went to their website and got an Internet quote. I communicated via email mostly and always got a quick response.I called the office before the move and had additional questions answered.I moved from a large 2 bedroom apartment of one of those large,super-modern,high maintenance apartment complexes in South Beach and they were as anal as they come.They required insurance coverage, workers comp, CA licensed, tons of paperwork, and rules and regulations. All that was more exhausting then the move itself. But the office provided all the necessary goods.They were very nice and accommodating when I had to change my move date a few times because of delays in my escrow.My reservation for the elevator was scheduled at 11:00am - 2:00pm. Well, they called a little before 10:45 saying they were in the loading dock. Ahhh!They quickly disassembled my bed and other furniture, wrapped my furniture in blankets and tape and started loading the elevator and truck at 11am,as I was furiously packing the final 4-5 boxes.They wrapped up everything professionally, moved heavy items quickly and safely and were very courteous. The one guy even apologized profusely for having to use my bathroom. I was like, "Dude, I don't live here anymore!" We were out of my old place by 2:00pm! Everything got to my new place safe and sounds a smooth sail... High Five for the AVL Guys!!! more

I had a studio full of surprisingly heavy room and board furniture that needed to get put into our lovely u-haul. i booked someone else for the job, but after seeing all the rave reviews on yelp, i decided it was in my best interest to go with AVL MOVING.. one of my better life decisions if i do say so myself. after a really simple reservation process that i did all by email (they are SUPER responsive by email), the day of the move arrived and the guys showed up exactly on time. they were friendly, funny, and expertly moved all of my furniture into the truck in exactly one hour! all for a very fair rate.
