AVL helped us move in February from an apartment with a lot of stairs to another apartment with even more stairs. They were great. Nothing was damaged. The movers were all very friendly and really hard workers. Highly recommended. No complaints from this mover. They were on-time, professional (brought extra padding, wardrobe boxes, and knew how to handle our furniture and wares) fast, efficient, and trustworthy. Almost forgot to mention - I joined Yelp just so I could spread the word. AVL did a great job! We moved from SF to Palo Alto- guys arrived at 8:30 am, packed us, moved us- and were done by 3:30 pm. (Including the drive time!) Very aware of our stuff and asked what went in which room, etc? Worth every penny. more

We used AVL for our move this past weekend. Great guys: Seamus, Dave &? (Shoot I forget). They handled our things respectfully and carefully. I highly recommend them! Wow! On time, polite, worked super fast and careful too! And the Irish accents..........if you ever needed a good reason to move, AVL Moving System is it! Paying for movers was one of the smartest things I've ever done and these guys were quick, friendly and professional. Would hire them again in a heartbeat! Dear sir with the dreadlocks and impenetrable Irish accent: hot this weekend, isn't it! Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable moving my belongings with your shirt off? Reviews lead me to these gents and I'm glad that they did. AVL move was completed quickly and professionally in 30 minutes less then the quoted time. The two guys showed up right at the scheduled time, helped me maneuver my massive U-Haul into loading docks, down narrow streets, and backing into parking spots. It would be nice if their service had their own truck, but overall having to rent the U-haul saved me a lot of money, even if it was a pain in the ass to drive. I would recommend these guys to anyone making a move. more

Our dear grandmother passed away suddenly in an assisted-living apartment (on one of the busiest moving weekends of the year). We moved her furniture to my house. The movers were very prompt, respectful and even managed to quietly and respectfully maneuver to the freight elevator, passing a Sunday morning worship service unobtrusively. Her furniture arrived without a scratch and they placed it perfectly in my home. They even offered condolences, which was above and beyond great service. Our family will absolutely call you again as future needs arise. Thank you. more

One year later and we're moving again. My first call, of course, was to AVL Movers. And once again, these guys were polite, quick, careful and professional. All our earthly belongings safely moved from one side of the city to another in less than 5 hours. No problems stress or hassle. Thanks again, AVL! These guys were amazing. They didn't mess around at all and just got all my stuff packed up in under 90 minutes (I have a lot of stuff). I had some huge furniture that they were amazing with as well. Fast, efficient and very professional. They showed up on time. Navigated my narrow stairwell with ease and took less than 4 hours for the whole move. I will definitely use them again. I'm still finding it difficult to believe that I have moved four times to, within and out of the city during the past three years. AVL moved me during two of those four times and I'm very pleased by their friendly and professional service. Highly recommended. Awesome FAST service - guys were great! I had ALOT of stuff and they handled it perfectly. I've moved about 8 times in SF and this was definitely the best! Kevin, the owner, called me when he got back from vacation and adjusted my bill based on the issues I had with the move. I guess he must read Yelp regularly. Since they were great last time and quick to resolve my issues this time, I definitely need to give them 5 stars. Highly recommended. Best Movers ever, they did everything great that anyone else has said but they got to do my house when it was 98 degrees out. Another moving day and another stellar job by AVL Moving. They were able to move me to my new place down the street in only 90 minutes with just a couple days notice. These guys rock. Fantastic!! Our moving crew was on time, professional and personable. I cannot express how pleased we are with AVL moving. We used these movers and they were awesome. Came right on time, were super fast, super nice, and the cost was fair. Definitely best moving experience ever. Clive and his guys showed up right on time with their friendly hellos and strong backs. They got right to work and moved me out of the loft and into my apartment in a gift. They were very careful and left no trace of the move on the walls. They charge a fair flat rate! Highly recommend. What a hassle free and efficient service. I'm really grateful. The best thing about it is, it was painless and they store it for you. So, all I have to do is call them when I'm back in town and ready to move into an abode. Awesome! more

They were running late due to a longer than expected move before mine and called multiple times to apologize and update me on their status. They also waived the transportation fee to make up for it. The only hitch is that you have to get your own truck (they only have a couple). It probably ends up making it cheaper in the end anyway. Also, most moving companies shrink wrap your valuables/couches/tables and they do not do that. Simply a load and unload moving company. Thanks AVL! more

Wow, I hate to be one of the non 5-star reviews, but so it goes. Yes, the movers were quick and friendly -- yes, they ran in between loads of boxes. But.. I hire movers because A) I'm lazy and B) I expect them to be be good movers and protect my stuff. Unfortunately, as quick and friendly as they were, there were still some glaring issues I had with the service. And really, I feel bad for even complaining, because they are definitely good movers for a good price, but the way they loaded my truck was haphazard at best -- about as good as I could do, but if I wanted a mover that could do as good as I can, I wouldn't hire movers, I'd do it myself. For instance, we had one particular box that was heavily labeled as VERY FRAGILE and begged NOT TO PUT ANYTHING ON TOP of said box. When we went to unload our truck in the next town, that box -- which housed a 100 year old, extremely-fragile lamp, had a 40 pound TV nestled on top. Yikes. Luckily, nothing was broken, but simply paying attention to what the box said could have earned another star. In the end: would I use them again? Yes. But I'd also play closer attention to how they were packing my truck. more

We R1 movers to move our 4br house. We moved 1/2 into 2 storage units and 1/2 into a 3rd floor apartment. These guys were friendly, efficient and careful with our belongings. We were extremely impressed with this process - from handling our items with care, to wearing booties over their shoes in our new apartment, to completing the entire job in half the time they had estimated. To set up the move, we spoke On the day of the move, Rasher was the supervisor, and we would recommend him to anyone moving, and we will definitely request him again when we move into our new house. Great moving experience! I don't usually post reviews; however, when someone does a really great job, I think that they deserve to be recognized. Bill was the moving consultant who scheduled our move. He was professional and helpful. The moving crew impressed me the most! The moving crew arrived on time and worked diligently to get the move completed as quickly and carefully as possible. I would like to thank the movers who worked so hard and were polite and professional throughout the move. I especially want to thank the supervisor, Cruz, who is an amazing supervisor. He and his crew (Pedro and Kalim) are the best moving crew. This move was the least stressful moving experience that I have experienced thus far. I would definitely use AVL Moving for my future moves and highly recommend them. I hope Cruz is still around for my next move! more

My family and I moved through AVL Moving Systems. We had a very pleasant experience with them from beginning to end. They did a perfect job, from the packing and loading to the unloading. You want to move from state to state, call these guys. They're very professional, friendly and with a very reasonable price. For $2000 I had my 3 bedroom apt moved safely and without any damage. They stuck to their promises and went to great lengths to keep me happy; they can fulfill anybody with this highly noticeable attitude and effort. The next lowest price for this kind of move was 3400. That's 1400 difference for the same outcome. So now I advise everyone to compare with other companies; also make sure that this isn't any third party agency, I've learned this in one of the topics that you may end up paying extra fees for the referral which are hidden. Make sure they're insured & in high standing with department of transportation. I'm glad I've chosen AVL Moving Systems and I recommend them to everybody! more

In reference to our move from San Diego area to Charlotte, NC. The movers whom we moved with were great and the service from the office staff was great as well. In the 2 years I have lived in San Francisco, I have moved 3 times... and each time used movers - I'm lazy. The first couple of times I went with the moving company that employs students who are starving.Yeah,I realized quickly they weren't really students nor were they starving. On my second move, they took their sweet time to load & unload (over 5 hours) to move a 1 bedroom from Hayes Valley to the Marina.These experiences prompted my good friends to refer AVL Moving Systems for my 3rd move. Unbelievable difference! The 3 guys from AVL arrived 15 mins early to take a look at the apartment, prepare an estimate, prepare an inventory of my furniture and boxes, and write up all the paperwork. They explained every detail and were extremely professional and respectful of me and my crap; always calling me Mr. or Sir. (While I don't expect people to do that and would rather they call me by my first name it's better than "HEY" like those hungry students). The day of my move happened to be a street sweeping day,they didn't mind, and repeatedly moved the truck without a fuss.Even though 1 of the 3 guys remained down at the truck the whole time, they had my entire apartment loaded onto the truck in 45mins and unloaded at my new home in 35mins.At each point when the clock was stopped and started or during double time for driving I was asked for the time; there was no way for them to cheat me on the length of time...it would be impossible to add an additional 15mins here or there because I was giving them the time throughout the trip. I knew exactly what they were charging me and it was accurate.AVL has a 3-hour minimum which was all I had to pay; they moved me in less than 3 hours.None of the furniture was damaged and every article found its way over to my new home.This was the best move I ever had.Thanks to this company AVL Moving Systems. more

I called AVL Moving Systems when I was looking for a small move to be made to my new home according to new job I am starting to work at. AVL took all my info and assured me they would be able to help out. They were very friendly (and funny) and helpful. They gave me a price quote and explained what I should ask about if I was going to shop around.I explained that the date wasn't definite because we were waiting on a certificate of occupancy.They told me not to worry that they would work it out if I had to switch dates. I was going to shop your price but AVL was so accommodating and helpful I decided just to go with your company.I inevitably had to cancel my date and put my move on hold. When I was ready they quickly rescheduled the move.On Sunday, the movers came on time, were extremely courteous and hard working. They worked hard not to damage any walls or floors and were respectful of our things. They were happy to take anything I needed to take last minute and kept telling me they had plenty of space in the truck if I had anything else. First I would like to say that I would use AVL Moving Systems ,our movers again and I would and will recommend them to other people moving. Our only reservation was with the amount of time that elapsed from the time of pick-up to the delivery. The distance from Hartford to Boise was only 2,500 miles and we made the trip in our car in only 9 days and it took them 12 days to deliver which we found a little excessive considering the weight of our shipment was 18,000 lbs. Maybe it's a little ob-surd to think the delivery should have arrived faster than we did because these guys would drive but we had hoped it would be a week or 8 or even 9 days. Besides that, the move was perfect and the driver Tim was a complete gentleman and true professional. We were extremely happy about this safe move wit AVL!! more

Now that I finally have a day off due to the holiday, I can post my glowing review for AVL Moving Systems and their personnel. They moved me Petosky, Michigan in the middle of September and they were absolutely terrific. Ian and Tommy were truly a wonder to watch work. In the end, my price was a little less than quoted and the service I received was worth triple what I paid if that was the case. I am sorry I couldn't post this review sooner but I have been very busy. Better late then never.They were just amazing. more
