Avl Moving Systems

Do I really need to add another 5-star review to this list? Probably not, but my boyfriend and I were so impressed with Avl Moving Systems! That I will anyway. We wanted to get our move done and over with as soon as possible, so we had the guys show up at 7am. They called at 6:30, just to confirm, and arrived right at 7 as promised. We had packed some of our smaller items--boxes and such--on our own the night before just to make it go a little quicker, and Avl was totally ok with this. I expected them to tell me they need to move everything for some random reason, but they said they were cool with anything that made our move quicker and cheaper! So anyway, the guys got right to work and were incredible. Perfect planning on fitting all our items into the truck, and they were speedy! Literally running between our house and the truck, they managed to move two people (load, drive, and unload) in just 2 hours! They even had a pickup truck so they put a few additional items in the back of their truck for us. How convenient. They really just made our move so easy. Everyone was great--Angie was superb with organizing the move via phone and email (I love businesses that use email so efficiently), and I can't remember our movers names, but they were fantastic also. Friendly yet professional. We will be contacting them again for our next move. more

Seriously- AVL Moving are AWESOME. AVL Moving literally do run. It was between them and pro movers. i found that they were a little cheaper and it was easier to set up the appointment with them then pro movers. Everything was very efficient from the start to finish. I filled out the web estimate survey and shortly thereafter i received an estimate from angel. The estimate was dead on. I was also ecstatic that i didn't have to rent a U-Haul- a few days before the move date they contacted me letting me know that they would be able to provide a truck for an additional $40 which would have cost me about the same at U-Haul. I think my movers names were Jeff and Tommy?? They were great and super professional. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. more

Love these guys! I moved last week, and am so happy I found them on YELLOW PAGES! AVL was great at getting things scheduled and answering all of my many questions. Flash forward to moving day, and as promised, Dan called 15 minutes before arrival. He and Marcus were right on schedule and had my belongings loaded in the truck in record time. They were extremely careful with my stuff, taking time to wrap the fragile stuff (coffee table glass, TV etc) in padding, and after the unload, not one thing was broken. They even set up my bed! I hate moving, but these guys made a stressful process a delight. I cannot recommend them enough! Book them NOW! more

One year later and we're moving again. My first call, of course, was to AVL Movers. And once again, these guys were polite, quick, careful and professional. All our earthly belongings safely moved from one side of the city to another in less than 5 hours. No problems stress or hassle. Thanks again, AVL! These guys were amazing. They didn't mess around at all and just got all my stuff packed up in under 90 minutes (I have a lot of stuff). I had some huge furniture that they were amazing with as well. The way I see it is, if you don’t use these guys, you are stupid. It's that simple. Thanks Bryan, Chris and Jake! AVL guys are fantastic & reasonably priced! Nicest group of guys i have ever met... Our dear grandmother passed away suddenly in an assisted-living apartment (on one of the busiest moving weekends of the year). We moved her furniture to my house. The movers were very prompt, respectful and even managed to quietly and respectfully maneuver to the freight elevator, passing a Sunday morning worship service unobtrusively. Her furniture arrived without a scratch and they placed it perfectly in my home. They even offered condolences, which was above and beyond great service. Our family will absolutely call you again as future needs arise. Thank you. more

Cheerful fellows, skilled and on time. Friendly and professional, careful with stuff and walls. They hit the low end of their estimate. I'd recommend them to others, especially if you like people singing old pirate songs one minute and "The Age of Aquarius" the next we used AVL last Friday to do a move from the Peninsula to SF and it was as good as it could have been. They were extremely professional and I would highly recommend them. Used these guys again a month ago and had the same great experience. They're really efficient, friendly and I still haven't had better movers. The way they touched my stuff made me swoon. It's a week later, and I am still in awe of the AVL Super Powers. Bestest ever. Very professional, friendly, helpful, hard working. They lent us boxes too, which is such a great service, but I've never heard of anyone else doing it. Duh. Just a first-rate experience all the way. I can't say enough good things about AVL! Our house sold in just 3 days, and I was not prepared for the quick move that I had to make. Bill Boone worked with me to set up the pickup date on short notice. The movers were wonderful! Since I was temporarily moving my belongings into a storage facility till I could find a new home, they wrapped and quilted literally all my furniture. After 5 months in storage, AVL moving moved me into my new home, and not one single piece of furniture was damaged!!! I would recommend them to anyone who wants a great move. more

AVL did a top job moving our office. They booked the gig on one day's notice, showed up in the morning, packed up the works, and moved it into the new place in six hours, without breaking, scratching, or denting anything. These guys are great! Kevin was super warm and easy to deal with from the very first phone call. I give them my highest recommendation! They were also great fun to be around. Hire These Guys! These guys were fantastic. They were willing to move a single piece of furniture (a heavy CRT TV), cheaply and in the evening on a weekday. It took them almost no time at all, and they handled it easily and professionally. more

AVL moved me from Berkeley to San Francisco last Friday. They were outstanding! Great attitude, FAST, careful (I had no damage at all), HARD working with a sense of humor, they arrived in the time window we'd agreed upon. All around good guys. I'd definitely use them again these guys rule. They helped us with a shitload of packing, and moved an entire truckload of stuff to 2 locations all in one day. At times they would literally be *running* up and down the stairs. Honest, fair prices, hard working, and good guys. I would very highly recommend. These guys were great. They were on time, quick and efficient, courteous and came in below their quote. I can't say enough well about them except that I would highly recommend them. Moving from SOMA to Sunset - these guys were on time and gave an impressively exact estimate of when the job would be done. They even helped box things I was too lazy to do. I would use them again. Friendly, efficient and affordable too. The quickest, easiest move I have ever had. They arrived right one time and moved everything super fast. They were friendly and professional. I will definitely be using them again for any moves in the future. :) more

Everyone else has pretty much covered it, but I felt compelled to add my two cents, just because I really, really want this company to succeed. When they say it's an "athletic moving company," they are not joking. The young strapping men they send look like triathletes. They do really run - lope, even. They are genuinely nice. Everything you've heard is true. Even when we ran into a little snag (my apartment company, in its infinite wisdom, decided to paint the DOORFRAMES to my apartment, rendering the AVL boys unable to get my sofa in without ruining it with black paint), they handled it with aplomb. One of the movers kept apologizing, even though the problem had nothing to do with him. It all turned out fine - we just left the sofa in the hallway and I moved it in later after the paint was dry. more

AVL is wonderful. It was prompt, efficient, careful and cordial. I wouldn't move with anyone else. Made moving an easier experience and were totally upfront and honest. These guys were great! They only took 3 1/2 hours including drive time and two stories of wooden stairs on the destination side. Very friendly and efficient, I highly recommend them. Kevin and his crew did an amazing job with our move from SF to Southern California. Professional, responsive, friendly, careful. While we are still opening the last few boxes, not a single broken/lost item. Finally a great experience with a mover. Would highly recommend these guys. more

AVL helped us move in February from an apartment with a lot of stairs to another apartment with even more stairs. They were great. Nothing was damaged. The movers were all very friendly and really hard workers. Highly recommended. No complaints from this mover. They were on-time, professional (brought extra padding, wardrobe boxes, and knew how to handle our furniture and wares) fast, efficient, and trustworthy. Almost forgot to mention - I joined Yelp just so I could spread the word. AVL did a great job! We moved from SF to Palo Alto- guys arrived at 8:30 am, packed us, moved us- and were done by 3:30 pm. (Including the drive time!) Very aware of our stuff and asked what went in which room, etc? Worth every penny. more

First off, they have amazing customer service. Whatever formula they have come up with to figure out how long it will take to move you in and out of your apartment was spot on. There is no deposit required and when I thought that it might take an extra hour, because I had yet to box up all my stuff when I made my reservation, they added on the extra hour. Simon and crew called when they anticipated being late, but they ended up being on time anyway. Even though U-Haul is a bunch of losers and the truck had yet to arrive at my apartment Simon and the guys just started moving boxes down my four flights of stairs, setting everything up to be moved right into the U-Haul once it got there. Yes. These guys run. They also are amazingly nice and funny. They didn't even get pissed when my roommates annoying friend showed up and started getting in their way. Then when my cat freaked out and escaped the room I was keeping her in, they offered to help me get her out of the loft and were genuinely worried about her. They also know how to pack a truck, my whole huge apartment fit into a 17 foot truck, even when I thought it wouldn't. Also, it took the exact amount of time THEY had estimated, which made my three bedroom, three bookcase, one couch, 40 boxes, 6 totes, 1 ELLIPTICAL MACHINE, and various other huge item move super freaking cheap. If it wasn't for AVL I would have been moving from 10 am to midnight. I was relaxing in my new apartment at 2pm and I didn't even have to break a sweat. I MOVED FROM San Jose to Bay area. more

A fabulous experience. They came right on time, and right on budget. Fast, friendly, and Kevin was quick to return phone calls and emails. They have their own storage facility, so it's easy for them to move everything to storage for a few months, if that's what you need. Most awesome movers EVER!! They even brought us boxes to use. So nice and polite with pleasant accents, and non-judgmental of our giant amount of stuff, hahaha. Very easy communication. Very nice guys. Showed up right on time. 30 minutes taking stuff out of old place...30 minutes taking everything into new place. This has been my fastest move ever! AVL will be my movers until I die! It is absolutely FANTASTIC! Everyone else has said everything already, and I fully agree with all these reviews... Great guys, careful, fast, and friendly! I have found my movers for life... or at least the rest of my life in San Jose. In August I moved from a garden to a 3rd floor apartment and had the most pleasant moving experience a girl could ask for. Now, of course there was stress and sweating and hard work, but overall I was thrilled. I got a timely, fair quote. R1 guys showed up early (only after calling me to see if I was ready to roll). They were friendly, fast (literally RAN between every trip), and even complimented me on my organization! They accommodated my request to pop in at my boss's couch and pick up an additional sofa that wasn't in the original plan/quote. Nothing broken, lost, or damaged. They finished early and under their quote, which earned them a fat tip of course more

Wow, these guys were amazing. I had one week to find movers and the receptionist Angie was very helpful. She even requested to move up the time by half an hour (from 7:30am to 7am) since she wanted to make sure the guys had enough time to load my stuff before their next appointment at 11am. Friday, 7am - these guys all showed up right on-time. Awesome. They were very organized and after seeing all the stuff in the garage and condo, they went straight to work. They had one guy directing and the other 3 guys were running up and down the stairs. They were so polite...saying "excuse me" when they needed to get around us. I expected the loading to take 3.5 hours...but they were done in 2.5 hours. I was DEFINITELY IMPRESSED. It's great to find guys that have a solid work ethic. All the other movers that I researched had horrible reviews on yelp -- i.e. they dragged their feet and took much longer than the estimates. We did get compliments on our packing and wrapping with furniture pads from the guys. Said it made their lives a lot easier. more

We used AVL for our move this past weekend. Great guys: Seamus, Dave &? (Shoot I forget). They handled our things respectfully and carefully. I highly recommend them! Wow! On time, polite, worked super fast and careful too! And the Irish accents..........if you ever needed a good reason to move, AVL Moving System is it! Paying for movers was one of the smartest things I've ever done and these guys were quick, friendly and professional. Would hire them again in a heartbeat! Dear sir with the dreadlocks and impenetrable Irish accent: hot this weekend, isn't it! Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable moving my belongings with your shirt off? Just wanted to thank AVL Moving for a perfect move today . . . I won't hire any other company in the future. AVL delivered again. There's no reason to even considering hiring anyone else to do a move in the Bay area. They're unbelievably fast, which makes them exceptionally affordable - they did my move in about half the quoted time. I will agree with the few non-five-star reviews, however, that you're going to want to keep an eye on things that are fragile and maybe make a point of asking them to take extra care with those items or boxes - they move so quickly that I don't think there's a lot of reading for box tops that goes on, and there's a risk of things getting banged up in the process. Still - asking them to slow down with a few items is very literally a small price to pay. more

My family and I had a local move from an apartment to a house. Since I had a baby grand piano, I needed 4 guys on the crew. They arrived on time, were very courteous and were ready to go last Friday morning (7/30). They were very efficient yet very careful in everything they moved. The crew leader explained everything along the way in the 7-hour move. He even deducted the half hour they took for lunch (my last mover did not do that). The only hiccup was a small broken piece on a bookcase, but something that minor is to be expected in any move. I would definitely recommend AVL to anyone looking for a quality and affordable move. more
