This was a really top notch move. More than we expected in terms of price, quality of service and everything else that came with the move. This is our 4th move in 8 years and we used this company due to the simple fact that this move was paid for by us and not our hospital. We are both physicians and have always had the hospitals we were employed by pay for our relocation and have now opened our own practice in Detroit so this move was out of pocket for us and our choice to use AVL MOVING SYSTEMS proved to be a great one. Pricing was extremely competitive from the others and the quality was a step above. Delivery was prompt and there was always someone available to help out and answer any questions we had. We certainly will not be relocating in the near future but we will give recommendations to anyone who asks about a moving company.They were real time professional movers. more

We used this company " AVL MOVING SYSTEMS" for a long distances move and had a very good experience with them. Martins always contacted me back whenever i call or email. the movers themselves was very professional and over all this company made us very happy with everything taking too much care in handling the stuff and well behaved and a courteous crew.The next time we think about moving i'm sure AVL MOVING will be our only choice.. more

Considering that we had never moved over 20 miles before outside of Oregon, we were terrified especially after reading and hearing terrible stories of moving company tactics and bait & switch operations causing unsuspecting customers 2, 3 or 4 times their estimates. We were given "AVL Moving Systems" information from our neice that moved with them last winter and she had raved about them and we figured no better referal than family. We arranged to have our house packed up and moved on Oct 6th or the 7th and stored until Nov 26th or2 7th. Dan and Mark came on the 6th at 8am and began working almost immediately, writing down every piece and stickering every box, they put sticky plastic floor covering down on our carpets, cardboard and padding on our hardwood flooring the whole 9. These 2 men did not stop for a second until everything was wrapped, marked, and loaded which took about 12 hours. June 9th Ian showed up to deliver our things out of storage and unwrapped everything and it was all intact and in the same condition as it left and went into storage, in our opinion, we couldn't have chosen a better more professional company. Our final price including the storage and packing was $6,511.00 which was $290.00 less than the estimate, and we tipped them good for the job well done. If we ever have to move again, we will be using AVL Moving Systems and will pass on the good word about them and how they operate. more

If you live in San jose, you need to hire these movers. I am blown away by the exceptional service we received this past weekend! It was AVL indeed -- they absolutely live up to their name! I was really stressed about moving, but they were very careful with all of our stuff and made the move completely painless, and affordable! The hourly rate is a bargain: $80 for 2 people, $100 for 3 people. We estimated that it would take them 3-4 hours to move our 1 bedroom plus den apartment. Nope, 2 hours on the nose! I was amazed at how quickly they were able to move us -- they RAN back and forth from the truck and elevator. What movers do you know that do that? They should open up branches in other cities. I don't think I could ever use another mover. more

I had to find movers at the last minute. I called them Thursday, they moved me Friday afternoon! Extremely fast. I always manage to ding my own items when I move myself, they wrapped everything very nicely. Well worth it! Will use again! more

This should have actually been my first review. But first or one-hundred-and-first review, one thing remains the same - AVL Moving Systems is great. Though when I moved with them back in June, they were Smooth Moves (so that changed). I was moving from my former two bedroom Hades (I mean arrangement) to my current one bedroom Nirvana on short notice (my roommate told me about three weeks before he moved out). I had just gotten back from a road trip to Washington D.C. and moving was the last thing on my mind; but Smooth Moves found time to squeeze me in. Though it did take me asking for an extra week in my old apartment (since they're relatively part-time and only move people in the evenings after their full time jobs) to find a time they could move me. Certain aspects of the move seemed shady over the phone; but I promise anyone who uses them it's not. The quote they give is pretty accurate (they were actually one minute quicker than promised) and they show up mostly on time - in a full sized truck which fit my entire half of a large two bedroom apartment (one load). There is a surcharge for stairs so be prepared (third floor to third floor made the move a bit more expensive). These guys move things fast. The employees use moves as cross training for triathalons and marathons. They barely broke a sweat moving things that exhausted me just to look at; and they'll also dispose (of pretty much anything legal) and arrange if it fits in the schedule. The reason this should have been my first review was at the end of every move they ask people to Yelp them. When they asked back in June, I asked myself, "what is this Yelp thing?" But six months and 60% of my social life later, I still stand behind them and their somewhat coerced reviews. They earn all the word of mouth they can get - internet or no. more

The guys are AVL moving is fabulous. They were very careful with our things, worked quickly and efficiently and were courteous to us. All of them spoke perfect English and followed any directions / requests either my husband or I gave. And their prices were really reasonable! I will recommend these guys very highly to friends and family definitely give them a call next time you move! more

Do I really need to add another 5-star review to this list? Probably not, but my boyfriend and I were so impressed with Avl Moving Systems! that I will anyway. We wanted to get our move done and over with as soon as possible, so we had the guys show up at 7am. They called at 6:30, just to confirm, and arrived right at 7 as promised. We had packed some of our smaller items--boxes and such--on our own the night before just to make it go a little quicker, and Avl was totally ok with this. I expected them to tell me they need to move everything for some random reason, but they said they were cool with anything that made our move quicker and cheaper! So anyway, the guys got right to work and were incredible. Perfect planning on fitting all our items into the truck, and they were speedy! Literally running between our house and the truck, they managed to move two people (load, drive, and unload) in just 2 hours! They even had a pickup truck so they put a few additional items in the back of their truck for us. How convenient. They really just made our move so easy. Everyone was great--Angie was superb with organizing the move via phone and email (I love businesses that use email so efficiently), and I can't remember our movers names, but they were fantastic also. Friendly yet professional. We will be contacting them again for our next move. more

Recently, my boyfriend used AVL Moving to move down to Southern CA. The movers arrived early, wrapped all of the furniture, and moved all the furniture out within two hours. Quick, efficient, and friendly are a couple of words that describe this moving company. Initially, we were stressed out, but what a relief - they were great. more

You only move a few times in your life so it is important to hire the right movers. AVL Moving understands this and so they try to do the best job they possibly can. The movers were professional. They were polite, courteous, pleasant, and most importantly, I could communicate with them easily. They were definitely aiming to please and made sure to do what we needed them to do and not just get the job out of the way so that they could get paid. more

I had to do a last-minute move, and I wasted a lot of time digging through lots of mover ads on craigslist before I found AVL Moving. They set up the move for me in a few minutes over the phone, and sent out a mover who was on time and professional. Great service. more

AVL Moving Systems quite bombtastic! I made a request in the middle of the week for a Saturday move and got pretty quick response from the coordinator. Estimate was for 2 people for 2.5-3 hours, but instead I got 3 people but it only took an hour and a half! Austin and crew were all very polite and absolute beasts when it came to handling big boxes quickly and carefully - I did confirm they were also running back and forth when loading and unloading. I also rented the truck and they had tons of padding for my items and also for the nice passenger elevator at my end location. In the end, all of my stuff got to my new place quickly and safely in an hour and a half and ended up being $190 (hour and a half for 3 people + truck rental) + tip (thanks for the tipping guidelines on the site!). Would definitely use AVL again! more

Wow, I hate to be one of the non 5-star reviews, but so it goes. Yes, the movers were quick and friendly -- yes, they ran in between loads of boxes. But... I hire movers because A) I'm lazy and B) I expect them to be be good movers and protect my stuff. Unfortunately, as quick and friendly as they were, there were still some glaring issues I had with the service. And really, I feel bad for even complaining, because they are definitely good movers for a good price, but the way they loaded my truck was haphazard at best -- about as good as I could do, but if I wanted a mover that could do as good as I can, I wouldn't hire movers, I'd do it myself. For instance, we had one particular box that was heavily labeled as VERY FRAGILE and begged NOT TO PUT ANYTHING ON TOP of said box. When we went to unload our truck in the next town, that box -- which housed a 100 year old, extremely-fragile lamp, had a 40 pound TV nestled on top. Yikes. Luckily, nothing was broken, but simply paying attention to what the box said could have earned another star. In the end: would I use them again? Yes. But I'd also play closer attention to how they were packing my truck. more

We moved from Chicago to San Francisco & have been looking for a local go-to moving company for our business. Man, are these guys professional, quick and reasonably priced. We needed furniture moved from the Loop out to Oak Park & WIN Van Moving Systems completed the job in LESS THAN AN HOUR and for less than $200 total. As other Yelpers have said, these movers actually RUN from the freight elevator to the truck. We will be calling them again. Excellent service. more

After seeing just a mere week before my move that my movers had one of the worst ratings on Yelp (I know, I know why didn't I check before) and freaked out. I called around until I hit AVL and they were SO nice and understanding they fit me in as their last move of the day even though they were technically booked for the day. They were helpful and communicative about the whole move. They showed up exactly on time and truely, as the other reviews have stated, RAN up and down those stairs. That being said, they ended up way under the quote they gave me which got them a big tip from me! I don't plan on moving again anytime soon, but will definitely be recommending these guys to everyone who needs them. more

My girlfriend and I were only moving a few blocks away, but did not really have the time or the desire to carry all of our own furniture, so we called Avl Moving Systems. Angie was very prompt and professional, communicating via telephone, and email, to coordinate a quote and then an official appointment. Daniel and Greg arrived right on time (Daniel? Greg? Daniel Greg! They ARE the James Bond of movers!). They were enthusiastic, energetic, and very polite. The whole move took 30 minutes less than was estimated, which resulted in a smaller bill. What moving company do you know that busts their asses in order to save their customer $40? I didn't think it existed. But AVL Moving Systems is honest, and fair, and they did exactly that. As long as I live in the city of San Francisco, these guys will be my movers. I'll never give it a second thought. more

Great movers. Great guys. They were running late due to a longer than expected move before mine and called multiple times to apologize and update me on their status. They also waived the transportation fee to make up for it. The only hitch is that you have to get your own truck (they only have a couple). It probably ends up making it cheaper in the end anyway. Also, most moving companies shrink wrap your valuables/couches/tables and they do not do that. Simply a load and unload moving company. Thanks AVL! $80/hr for two guys. $100/hr for three guys. Tansportaion fee $20. more

Good god.... What an awesome first time mover experience! Much like everyone else, this was our first time using movers - and when the time comes to need movers again, we will use AVL Moving systems - and, we're recommending them to everyone we know! From the first communications we had with the company to the hand-shake with our movers at the end of the day, everything was a positive experience. The movers were on time, they assessed our items and adjusted our 3.5 hour estimate to 4 hours, which we were fine with because our amount of things went up slightly from our initial estimate we gave to the company. The movers spent the next 15 minutes or so figuring out the best ways to pack in the large items, and then slot the smaller boxes around them...and then it was on. WIth a direct plan of our how our stuff would fit, Greg & Cole hustled ass like crazy - and by hustle, I mean after they would put a handful of items in the truck, they would RUN back to our house to get more items. For reals. At our new place, they continued to hustle, except now it was up and down 3 flights. Nothing broken, everything treated with care and respect. They ended up being finished in 3 hrs 15 minutes, which was 15 minutes less than the original estimate, and Greg was actually dissapointed they hadn't shaved more time off!!!!! After signing off on the paperwork, and giving the guys the check, we stood around and shared some funny moving stories while the guys had some WELL DESERVED coffee and doughnuts we got for them. Overall, this was 5 star service all around - kudos AVL Moving systems! more
