Cost was way too high 11/18/2015

When I called for an appointment, I was told that you charged by the job, not by the time. This seemed to mentioned as if it was a good thing, so I made the appointment. My problem was a clogged drain in the kitchen sink. I didn't keep time, but I believe it was considerably less than an hour, and the charge was $250. That seems very high. more

Good service 10/14/2015

I called Arnold & Sons to fix a clogged drain underneath my crawlspace, and it wouldn't come out easily, so they dug out around it, had to cut the pipe, put a new pipe in, and recap it. They explained everything to me, and they were polite and professional. It ended up being a 3 day job, so it was pretty expensive, but I would call them again, and will have to, because I got roots growing into my pipes. more

way way over priced - AVOID at all costs 10/3/2015

The have this "per job" pricing but won't tell you up front what is price is. I paid $200+ to install a toilet for 1 hour's work. Way too much. The catch is, they charge you $98 to show up for the estimate that you pay even if you decline the estimate. They apply the $98 to the job if you accept. RESPONSE FROM Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg: Mr. Gannon, first of all I want to apologize for your experience with Arnold & Sons Plumbing. As you mentioned we do indeed utilize a per job flat rate pricing system. We have successfully done so since 1995. This is to allow every customer to choose the best option that suits their needs. It is also beneficial for the customer to have the full scope of expectations set before they have to commit to any work being performed. Unfortunately it sounds like you were not informed of your pricing options before the work began. That is not our policy and I do want to apologize if that was the case. Our diagnostic/trip charge of $89 is also our policy. Our technicians spend a great deal of time listening to our customers and the problems they are experiencing as well as personally investigating the plumbing systems to properly diagnose the situation so they can in turn recommend the right solution, or multiple solution options. This is what the $89 covers and it is only charged to the customer in the event that they refuse to have any of the suggested solutions performed. This is very similar to bringing your car to the mechanic to solve a problem. First thing they do is diagnose what the problem is. If you have the mechanic do the work, they likely do not charge you to diagnose. But if you refuse the work, they are likely to charge you upwards of $120 for the diagnostic service. And you brought your car their service shop. We are bringing our service shop to your home. While the diagnostic/trip charge does not always cover our expense to diagnose every problem, we believe it is a fair price given the circumstances. Once again I want to apologize for your experience with Arnold & Sons Plumbing. I encourage you to contact me directly during business hours so that we may discuss this further. more

Way, way overprice + SCAM!!! I called to arrange to have a new toilet installed. Receptionist said they did not work time and materials but were on a per-job pricing. $98 to have the guy show up for an estimate. The $98 would be applied to the job if the job was completed right at that time. Well he showed up and it was a $225 job. Plumber was there less than an hour. SCAM!!! No plumber get $200+ per hour!! more

This is the first time we used Arnold & Sons Plumbing and Heating at our new house. We might have used them at our old place, but my wife would know more about that. I liked the two technicians they sent for a plumbing issue we were having. They were good guys, and performed the service we wanted. more

Resolved our plumbing emergency 9/4/2015

The technicians from Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. came to address a semi-emergency situation in my home. The staff was very understanding about our situation and responded quickly to our call. The technicians were friendly and knowledgeable about their work. They were fast and thorough in their work, and we had three new toilets when they were done. The service was better than average with a price to match. I recommend Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. for any job. more

There is a reason that Arnold have been my go-to company for my plumbing needs for years... they know their trade, they are always professional and very tidy, friendly to work with, and very responsive to resolving any minor issues that might come up along the way. Excellent service 8/14/2015

A technician from Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. replaced the drain in my kitchen sink. They did a good job and I have had no problems with the drain since the service. The work was a little expensive but the service was worth it. Everyone I spoke to was very nice and professional, and the technician was prompt and did what he needed to do. I recommend Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. because they did a great job. more

We've used Arnold & Sons Plumbing and Heating several times, and we seem to have the same issue. We've bought water heaters and they don't seem to last long. The people are fine, but I am disappointed in the product they're selling, and they seem to be considerably overpriced. But they showed up on time and were professional and timely. more

This was my first time using Arnold and Sons and I would recommend them to others. From the start, the tech knew what he was doing. He came the same day I called, and solved the whole issue within an hour and a half. They were a little pricier than others, but worth their price due to their promptness. I have had no recurring issues with the situation he solved. I am very pleased. more

The tech from Arnold & Sons Plumbing came to fix a small issue for me. He came on time and was professional. His performance was good, and he fixed the problem, but it was very overpriced. Prompt, professional service 6/18/2015

I called Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. because my toilet was over-flushing. They answered right away and a technician came to my home within an hour of my call. He was very friendly, professional, and courteous. He told me he could fix the problem but that a fix would cost just as much replacing the unit. He was very patient and clearly explained the plumbing problem to me. He had a new toilet in his truck so he was able to install it as soon as I agreed to the replacement. I appreciated the prompt service I received and recommend Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. to anyone. more

I was pleased that Arnold and Sons Plumbing and Heating came out so quickly after calling them, but I didn't feel like their rates were in-line with other service providers. In the three times I used them -- once to fix a pipe, once to fix a pump, and once to replace a faucet -- they seemed a little too expensive. more

Quick, efficient, and very professional 6/9/2015

Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. installed a hot water heater in our home. The company responded quickly to our call, their pricing was competitive, and the work was done very well. We were charged exactly the price they quoted over the phone and there were no hidden fees even though the technician had replace an adapter on our unit. The company and their staff are honest, clean, efficient, and effective. Even with the adapter replacement, the technician was in and out in just an hour. He was knowledgeable and knew exactly what he needed to do to resolve our problem. I highly recommend Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg. more
