Prompt & Courteous 11/8/2010

I had no heat and called Applewood and there were there the same day and on the time that was stated. They called ahead and was willing to send credentials of the technician. Then a follow up phone call was immediate after the job was completed.\r \r Applewood's number 1 priority is for the customer.\r \r I would recommend Applewood to any of my friends or neighbors.\r \r K Parks more

Attentive, Knowledgeable Technicians 11/2/2010

I had Applewood out to my place for 2 different instances. Each time the technician was knowledgeable, attentive and explained (in detail) the issues at hand. I would recommend them to family and friends, and most importantly, I will defintiely be using them again in the future. more

Water Shut Off knob leaking.... 10/27/2010

We had a problem with the water shut off knob to our sprinkler system. When we turned the knob to shut it off, water began dripping around the knob. Called Applewood on Monday, the plumber arrived 2 hours later, had to replace knob, cut and add some pipe. Older home ('77), finished basement & where the pipes/valves were located, caused a minor problem. Dave was professional, knowledgeable and considerate, (wore shoe covers), covered the work area to protect the carpet. He explained what he was doing and had some suggestions for preventative maintenance. Will definitely use Applewood again!!! more

Professional and Friendly 10/27/2010

This company was great from start to finish. I like the upfront per job pricing they offer and the tune up special made the price right for the work.\r \r On the day of my scheduled work, they worked with their dispatchers to provide an advance phone call letting me remain at work until they had a person ready. \r \r Their service tech answered all my questions accurately and clearly explained what was going on with my heating system as well as how to make minor and cost effective improvements. Overall very happy and impressed with the work that was completed. more

Satisfied with furnace work 10/27/2010

Totally satisfied with the experience. Visit was for furnace work. Courteous, efficient initial telephone contact. The technician arrived as scheduled. He was courteous and knowledgeable. Upon completion of the work he answered several questions I had on additional furnace/air conditioning subjects and other matters. I felt I knew a lot about the company when he left and intend to use Applewood again in the future. The price was fair. There are other companies who might do the work cheaper. But, Applewood has a nice track record, is licensed, bonded and insured, with a guarantee on repairs and installation. You get what you pay for. I was able to split the payment between check and credit card -- very convenient. Received a followup call the same day as service to determine our satisfaction. Would recommend Applewood heating work to others. more

Prompt service, friendly technicians 10/23/2010

Ken from Applewood was very knowledgeable and gave us a quote up front after assessing the situation but before beginning work. He explained everything clearly and made recommendations but wasn't pushy. He was honest and I felt that he fixed my plumbing issue without breaking my budget or trying to talk me into unnecessary projects. I will be calling Applewood again for any future plumbing needs. more

A Company You Can Trust 9/23/2010

I needed some plumbing help that I couldn't do myself and let my fingers do the walking and saw the ad for Applewood Plumbing. Their ad was clear concise and said everything I needed to know so I called them to set up an appointment to get an estimate. They were very courteous and even waved the appointment fee. The day of my appointment Applewood called me about an hour before their representative was to arrive and sent me a picture and the credentials of the Master Plumber who would be coming to my house. That was a big plus for me! When he arrive he introduced himself and was very professional, informative, polite, and told me everything I needed to know about what needed to be done. I had spoken to a couple other companies and they all were within $10.00 - $15.00 of each other so I decided to go with Applewood and I'm glad I did as I also received a 2 year warranty on the work that was done. I will definitely call on Applewood Plumbing, Heating/AC, and Electrical the next t more

Extremely Expensive and Sneaky 9/14/2010

$311.90 for rooter service in kitchen sink drain. Half and hour of work. I asked for an estimate when I scheduled the appt. Was told that the plumber would evaluate the work and then quote a price. Plumber sees standard kitchen sink drain, opens book to standard kitchen drain cleaning. Dishonest Dispatcher could have told me that price, but then I would have called some other company. Now, I'm on the hook for $39 appt. fee plus two hours off of work. Do I take off two more hours tomorrow or just eat this one? I can't believe they have so many good reviews here. Probably from their commission based employees....They won't fool me again. more

great service 9/14/2010

I'm very pleased with all my dealings with this company. The plumber, Ken was knowledgable and efficient and very careful keeping the house clean. Any major plumbing repair is expensive anywhere but Applewood offers the best value for your money. more

DON'T THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY 8/31/2010

I called Applewood to fix a leak in my boy's bedroom. They sent a very smart, well dressed technician - very prompt to my home. First you will notice two things - one price if you become a member and the other if your answer was No! They have a book they claim with every possible price so no one gets treated unfairly with their costs. Look up - making hole in ceiling to find link. $136 and some odd change and at the point the ceiling had so much water damage if fell down when touched. To replace the leak $445.oo. Too replace two leaky facuets in bedrooms - $168 plus for set of one. I only needed one side fixed so said NO - use the other side for the other sink not buying two complete sets - he said ""ok"" but no guarantee. $168.00 - that is not to replace the handle - just put some new plastic pieces inside. \r \r Did you ever stay at a hotel and service was great - room smaller than expected and carpet old, furniture and you knew the room wasn't worth the price. This is Applewood. Oh, yes, here is the good one - since they do air contioning had them send over AC guy. Needed new motor - $1,129 if member $958.00 (membership $199.00 per year). I said - NO, I am going to call my guy at Mountain Breeze Heating and Air. $384.00 plus labor. He was like - well, they probably don't use the right motor, etc, etc. $1,129 verses $384.oo -Gee, let me think - you guys are crazy. It was then I realized I got ripped off for the plumbing. PLEASE GET TWO ESTIMATES. Pay the service charge - but get two estimates. Also, needed something for for compression between my electric water heaters - $445.00. Mountain Breeze $250.00. Luckily, Mountain Breeze replaced my motor and other part for $764 or something. Applewood would have cost me over $1800.\r \r Now, this is what I have learned -- they work on COMMISSION - NO SALARY. NOW YOU KNOW WHY THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE -\r \r Don't be fooled by the booties and clean cut guys -- DO NOT USE OR GET ANOTHER ESTIMATE TO MAKE SURE IN RIGHT PRICE RANGE OF OTHER COMPANIES.\r wORK - A FOUR RATING - EVERYTHING ELSE A ONE.\r \r more

Top Notch 8/27/2010

We used Applewood Plbg. & Htg. for the first time this wk. Our central a/c needed repair. With the heat we're having, we expected a delay in getting it repaired. Within 4 hrs. of our call, a highly experienced tech was at our house to fix the problem. He did an excellent job & went above the level of quality in doing the job. He also fixed a broken toilet. The part he needed was not on his truck. He called the company & Applewood delivered the part to him so he could fix it the same time he was here saving us another service call. more

Milhouse 8/25/2010

The customer service was excellent, and when they showed up to our house, the service was even better. I was a little worried about calling an electrician, but Applewood changed my mind forever. They were AWESOME!!!! more

Great Service 8/1/2010

I called Applewood late on a Thursday afternoon with a problematic AC unit and they sent a guy out within the hour where the other 3 HVAC people I called said it could be up to 2 weeks. The technician was friendly, worked quickly to find the issue, explained my options, and completed the work quickly. He even cleaned up after himself! I have never written a service review in my life but couldn’t pass these guys up. USE THEM! Pros: Quick, Professional, Great Cons: NONE! more

Outrageous estimate with no troubleshooting 7/15/2010

I called Applewood because I had a lead between the water meter at the street and my home.\r When the service person came to my house I had already dug 4 ft of a hole in my front yard.\r I told him what the problem was. I asked if he could locate the leak. He said they normally just dig a hole near the meter and a hole near the house and run a new line. Hmmmm. So he got on the phone and talked to someone else - said the house was no more than 40 ft from meter (it is actually 30 - no he never bothered to get a measuring tape. In fact he never stepped off the sidewalk.) Yet- he quoted me a price of $10,281.25. What a lunatic.\r I was already 4 ft down so I kept digging. Another 2 ft and I reached the water line and some water. Started digging 6 inches under the waterline and learned the leak was coming from a valve where the sprinker hooks into the main. The main did not have a leak at all. $160 in parts and the problem is fixed.\r If I would have been stupid enought to tell the Ap more

Pros: Look professional Cons: Insane price estimates. Out to get people. more

EXORBITANT PRICING 7/10/2010

They were all really nice -- BUT, I paid $199 for a $10 part and 10 minutes of labor. I should have used my instinct and bought the stem and stem socket set at Ace for $25 total. Pros: Very nice people, however... Cons: I NEED TO SELL A KIDNEY TO PAY more

Great Service from Applewood Plumbing 7/7/2010

We have used Applewood plumbers, technicians, electricians for several years now and they just keep getting better. Our most recent call was for a leaking toilet. I wanted to fix this one myself but after carefully looking it over I could see it really required the services of a plumber. Someone with expert training! The toilet was old (1950's) and the tank and drain seals were deteriorated badly. Applewood immediately scheduled a plumber to come out on a Saturday. They emailed me the photo and credentials of Chad M. He was very prompt, wore booties, and protected the floor and walls with paper drapes carefully as he worked. He first checked our water pressure and hot water heater as a safety measure. Then he asked if we wanted to repair or replace our faulty old toilet. At first I wanted to keep the old porcelain beast. But once the toilet tank was removed it was obvious there was no way that we would feel comfortable putting back together an old antique water guzzler. So Chad gave us the estimate for a replacement with guarantee and he also repaired a leaky faucet as part of his service. Now we have a sparkling lovely new toilet that flushes fantastically (and it's a water-saver!). Each time that we have called Applewood we've gotten courteous and professional service. Our journeyman plumber Chad was very neatly dressed in a clean uniform, explained everything clearly and knowledgeably beforehand, giving us written estimates, and was able to quickly solve our problems several hours before our company arrived---at no extra charge! We will continue to use Applewood knowing that they do a professional job right. \r Pros: Professional, helpful, knowledgeable, prompt Cons: None - you get what you pay for here! more

Air Conditioner Repairs 6/30/2010

Everything about my experience with Applewood was great. They got me on their schecule for the next day. They called and were able to come to my home earlier than what was scheduled. The repairman was very knowledgable and tried the simple fixes first but it ended up being the motor on the condensor. What was really great was he had the parts in his truck so there was no waiting for parts to arrive. He was very curtious and expllained everything that he was doing. After the repairs were complete he even took the time to discuss other issues we had been having with our heating system. It was a good all around experience. Great job. Pros: Timely, Curtious and Professional more
