READ MY EXPERIENCE AND BUYER BEWARE:
First off, everything seemed great during the initial sales presentation. Their price seemed competitive with other bids I have, they appeared professional, helped me understand all the rebate programs that I would be getting, etc. So in early October I signed a contract to have new windows installed in my home. They told me that I would have my windows installed ""before Christmas"" which already sounded like a long time to me, but oh well. I never heard a word from them in October, or November, so I started calling once a week in December to see when they would install. Then they informed me that they wouldn't be able to install until January 9, 2012. Well guess what - the tax credit program expired at the end of 2011 and so because of Advanced Windows' delay I lost my federal tax credit. When I asked if they could credit my work order - NOPE - sorry, in my sales contract it said that Advanced Windows makes no guarantee regarding rebates (despite the heavy sales pitch based on this). So I guess I was screwed there.
Then during the windows installation process the contractors DESTROYED two of my walls. I have pictures of both before and after if anyone would like to see it, please contact me. It is absolutely awful and was entirely a result of a reckless and poor installation. When I complained and the contractor supervisor came out to see the damage, they agreed it looked much worse than normal and credited my job $1,000 and asked me to please get three bids for repairing the damage, send them all three bids, and they will ask for whatever the difference between the lowest bid is and $1,000. Although a bit of a nuisance, but it was still reasonable to me.
So I got the bids and the lowest bid came in at $980. They were not happy about this. I told them that if they would like to get their own bids from people qualified to repair walls BE MY GUEST, I just want it fixed. They then responded that actually the sales contract states that they are not responsible for any damage to walls, so they were generous giving me ANY credit, and demanded I pay them back their $1,000. They would not give me any ""paid in full"" invoice until I did this, which I need to get my rebates from the energy companies. When I told them I didn't agree to that, they just started ignoring my emails/calls and steadfastly refused to give me a paid in full receipt. I found this outrageous and immediately contacted the referral network that recommend this company in the first place and relayed my experience. Only after this referral network threatened to kick them out of the network did Advanced Windows finally agree to pay for the damage to my walls and give me a paid in full receipt. However I was never able to recover my lost rebate due to Advanced Windows delaying installation of the windows.
Thanks for an AWFUL experience. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
