When I was at the Bridal Extravaganza I was yelled at by another dress shop that I had not already ordered my dress ( we are on a less than 6 mth time line) but then I walked down...

Worst

First the consultant was 20 minutes late. I wasnt too upset but it was a little disappointing because my mom, 3 bridesmaids, and fiances mom all drove pretty far to help me pick ...

Expected so much more! 6/10/2008

My friend and I (both brides) made two appointments on a Saturday. This was our 4th bridal shop stop in the last few weeks, and unfortunately, was our worst experience. We arrived, dressed in cute, but casual outfits (yes, I had on flip flops, but with a cute sundress), and filled out the standard form on what styles of dresses we liked, etc. The store is overwhelming with hundreds and hundreds of dresses. It's huge. The two women appointed to us quickly pointed out that the store was organized by designer. And? then they left, telling us to pull out any dresses we liked and hang them on the miscellaneous hooks around the room. ?Oh, and by the way, you and your friend's dressing rooms are across the giant store from each other.? What? Was there a point to filling out the form? Is there a good place to start here? Help? Anything? Pros: Big selection of dresses Cons: rude service, overwhelming without help, location more

I AM CALLING MY ATTORNEY ON THIS AWFUL PLACE!!! 5/8/2008

I PAYED 250$ FOR A RUSH DELIVERY WEDDING GOWN. NO ONE CALLED ME WHEN IT ARRIVED AND BY THE TIME I FOUND OUT MY DRESS WAS THERE ( BY CALLING THEM MYSELF) IT WAS TOO LATE TO DO WEDDING PHOTOS AND WE HAVE NOW CHANGED THE DATE OF THE WEDDING TO ACCOMIDATE. THERE IS NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES OF COURSE SO I HAD TO WAIT FOR THE GOWN TO COME IN. AFTER TRYING ON MY DRESS WITH THE HEADPEICE, I REALIZED IT WAS THE WRONG ONE AND THEY WOULD NOT REFUND ME EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THERE WAS NOT ANY DOUBT IN MY MIND I PICKED ANOTHER HEADPEICE. THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME TOUGH LUCK AND THAT I COULD NOT GET A REFUND. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A HEADPEICE THAT I DON'T WANT. I CRIED THE WH OLE WAY HOME BECAUSE I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND THEY SHOULD RETURN MY 400$. I SHOULD HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED ALL THE NEGATIVE REVEIWS ABOUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT WHEN SHOPPING FOR SOMETHING SO SPECIAL!!! Pros: I HAVE A PRETTY DRESS.. BUT COULD'VE FOUND ONE AT ANOTHER PLACE Cons: WAS TREATED SO BADLY BY THE MANAGER SUSIA RANDALL!! DON'T TAKE YOUR BUSINESS THERE!!!! more

Jean provided excellent service in helping me find my wedding dress! 4/17/2008

I bought my wedding dress here in August of '07 and had a wonderful experience. I also decided to get my bridesmaids dresses here and the experience was just as good. The salesperson who helped me find my dress was Jean and I would HIGHLY recommend her. She was never pushy or bossy, suggested several styles that would most flatter my figure and was very patient (I probably tried on 25-30 dresses!). I had been back to look at veils and a younger woman helped me- while she was very kind, she did not seem as knowledgeable about the merchandise. There was another sales lady (I wish I could remember her name) who was wonderful also. Pros: Great selection at variety of prices, Jean (sales lady), not pushy Cons: ? more

Words cannot express the lack of customer service.... 3/25/2008

Words cannot express for the lack of customer service I experienced when I walked into this store just on yesterday. Actually ""no customer service"" would be a better description. When I walked through the doors I found that the front desk reception had a clipboard stating that no children were allowed in the place at all. So I stood there and read this page worth of reasons why children were not allowed. This made me feel uneasy and very unwelcomed. Although I did not have any children with me; it put a bad taste in my mouth. Anyway...I continued to look around the store at different dresses and no one ever asked me if they could help me or anything. I saw 4 girls working and no one even acknowledged me. Maybe it was because I did not have on heels or dressed up. I wore regular jeans and flip flops. I was very dissappointed because I went in there to purchase a dress..and I do not have a budget. Needless to say, I will continue my search and spend my money where I feel welcomed. Note: Everything surrounds the customer --the price of the merchandise, the place, the promotion, and most of all the product. If the customer is not satisfied; there is not a purchase. more

The worst service ever experienced 3/24/2008

Coming from a retail management background of over 2 years, I have never witnessed such terrible and degrading customer service. The associates I manage are all between the ages of 18 and 22 and not a single one of them has ever treated a customer the way my friends and I were treated at this establishment. We came to bridesmaid dress shop as a group - 5 out of the 6 bridesmaids, the bride and her mother. While waiting in the waiting area for our bride to arrive, the front desk associate cut us off when we asked questions and could not seem to find our girl's name on the list. After we sat down to wait for her, the woman at the front was loudly complaining on the phone about another customer who was wanting to change her appointment due to a sick child. Once our bride arrived and we were allowed to shop, the service by the sales associate did not improve. We felt as if we were an imposition to the establishment and as another reviewer put it- as if we did not belong. All of us, including the mother of the bride felt that way. We were dressed nicely and were polite. The bride and her mother were severly upset about the way that we all were treated. We were barely spoken to, or acknowledged and no one even attempted to make conversation with anyone in our group. Had we not been told that the dress that we wanted would take close to 4 months to get in, we wouldn't have thought twice about purchasing elsewhere. When we did purchase 6 $200+ dresses, the service did not change at all. The associate seemed annoyed and bothered by all of us. Better service is seen in retailers with not nearly the price point! My friends and I would not usually be ones to complain but the shameful treatment by Weddings by Debbie was more than any of us had ever experienced. We did not require being waited on hand and foot, but a simple smile or courtesy would have went a long way. A customer should never be made to feel like an inconvenience, which is exactly how we felt. Pros: None Cons: Service more

A HORRIBLE SERVICE-EXPERIENCE 2/14/2008

Amazing 10/3/2007

This place is amazing the people there are so nice and helpful. I live in Austin and it was a far drive out there but so worth it. I found my gown and it was just perfect and in my price range. They have all different styles and prices perfect for any bride to be. Thanks Weddings by Debbie. more

Best bridal salon I visited 10/2/2007

I visited 6 bridal salons when shopping for my dress, and this place was by far the best. The selection of dresses was excellent, and the store itself was nice. My saleslady, Rebekka, was wonderful. The first time I went in, I picked a dress that they later found to be discontinued. I was heartbroken. When I returned for my second appointment, Rebekka found a dress similar to the style I wanted and reduced the price of it so that it fit my budget! It was definitely a much nicer dress. My dress came within the promised time period. No problems picking it up either. I did not use them for alterations, so i can't comment there. Pros: Great selection and service more

Great selection, good customer service, no high pressure sales people 8/30/2007

My Daughter found her gown at ""Weddings by Debbie"" . It is the only shop that she visited. I told her she would know the dress was the right one, when she put it on. Our sales lady , Fran, was very helpful, but she let my daughter, her bridesmaids and myself pick out any dresses we wanted. My daughter knew she had found the right dress as soon as she put it on. The big surprise to me was when I went to pay for it, being this was our first visit there, we received a 10% discount. After that we went and looked at bridesmaid's dresses, we said we were only looking and they let the girls try on as many as they wanted. There was no pressure to buy. They also held the dress after her 3 fittings until 3 days before the wedding. Other mothers had told me they had to pick their daughter's dress as soon as it was ready and they had to store it up to 3 months at home. Pros: not high pressure sales people Cons: could not try your dress on after it came in on Saturdays Had to only come in the evenings more

just read this one 3/22/2007

I bought my gown from weddings by debbie in Dec. and had the best experience just as my sister and best friend did. we have gotten the best service from every department. I am a full figured woman who requires special fittings and I got every bit of it. I ordered my gown, the managers measured me and show me the chart and recommended a size. I just got my gown in and it fits great, we needed to make some alterations, as expected but Lupe and her staff fit it to my body wonderfully. I know not everyone can be made happy with an event like a wedding but I think they are great. And I asked about the other ladies who wrote about this store, and I want to say to all the brides that are reading these stories, just remember there are 2 sides to every story. And this store would not be in business for as long as they have if all their clients felt that way. I loved them and I think every one should go. Pros: service and selection Cons: appointments only more

Great selection, poor service 9/26/2006

Although they have numerous dresses, more than any other bridal salon I went to, the customer service is horrible. The only person who has been nice to me there is the lady who helped me try dresses on. The front desk is rude and degrading, the alterations department is always overbooked and unhelpful. They mess up on orders (like ordering you the wrong dress) and then it is up to you to call constantly until someone gives you an answer. I was unable to have bridal portraits because they ordered the wrong dress and the new one didn't come in until about two weeks before my wedding. There is no reason to pay that much money for horrible service. I would go for your one free appointment, find the dress you like and then order it somewhere else where they treat you like you should be treated after spending over $2,000 on a dress that they order wrongly and then make you resposible for making sure your dress gets there on time as if you don't have enough on your mind with planning a wedding. My wedding was amazing and I had my dress but only after tons of uneccessary stress. Pros: Great selection Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE more

Treated My Daughter as though she didn't belong there - Like Julia Roberts In Pretty Woman 8/11/2006

I asked Jewel to go look for her wedding dress due to the fact my husband & I were out of town. She was so excited, her first day to actually go looking for her special dress. When lo & behold she goes into ""Weddings by Debbie"" and the sales clerk starts asking her questions. Then the clerk proceeded to tell her this was not the shop for her and she would have to shop elsewhere. See, here's where the Clerk missed it by a ""MILE"", my daughter's not paying for the dress - her father and I are. Since she is our only daughter - she pretty much has her pick. She was being a very sweet daughter and thought if she can find her dress on sale then that will leave more she can do for the reception...she is having 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen - so this will be no small affair. It will be at our local country club and all that entails. Including a victorian carriage pulled by white horses - we found her dress (wrong color (your shop had the right color and size) so we had to ordered it) - the price before alterations is slightly under $2,000.00 - then she wants ""Jasmine"" to add other embelishments which will up the price extensively - so your treating my daughter badly and making her feel like poor white trash (when she is definitely not) is geting this other place of business the Jasmine Coutre dress, 8 bridesmaid dresses, 2 flower girl dresses (in silk), 12 tux rentals in total - not counting all the shoes for everyone. 2 Mother of the Bride and Groom Dresses, and 3 Grandmother Dresses. I hope you change your method of operation because it would have been much easier to just buy the dress from you and be done with it - but there comes a time when you must make a stand and say ""I deserve to be treated better"". As my daughter is getting married it is one the most important lessons I can teach her before she takes that big plunge - something you should think about. Hope things go better for you in the future. Pros: Had the right dress in stock Cons: Didn't buy the right dress on principle - ordered it from a competitor who treated us better! more

Horrible service once they get your money 8/2/2006

I went to Weddings By Debbie because of their extensive selection of gowns. The sales associate was amazing, attentive and helpful. I ended up finding my dream dress but once I paid for it the service was HORRIBLE. When I went for my first fitting, no one offered to help me or explain to my mom how to get me in my dress. The alterations lady was short and rude. Then to make things even worse, during my alterations we realized that my dress was a whole size too big from the one I ordered. After talking to the manager I was assured that a new dress would be in soon. It has been two months since that promise and they will not return my phone calls and let me know the status of my dress. As of now I have no dress and no one has contacted me to reassure me that I will have a dress for my wedding six weeks away. I would not recommend buying from here. Try on the dresses, see what you like and then go somewhere else. Pros: Great selection and helpful associates Cons: Customer service is horrible once they get their money, don't return customer calls more

Front Desk is Horrible 7/30/2006

The fashion consultant who was assisting me was excellent. I felt sorry for her because she was the nicest one in the place! The ladies at the front desk were horrible! One of them told my Matron of Honor that they didn't have a bathroom and but they had an ""out house out the back."" Cons: Customer Service more

Un-Friendly Staff 7/10/2006

Very un-friendly staff. The receptionist was the only friendly person in the store. I was advised that the dress that I was going to try was in stock over the phone. When I went to the store the salesperson asked 20 questions to finally tell me that a dress that I verified over the store was not in stock to try on. Brides beware and go elsewhere!! more

BEST PLACE IN TOWN 10/28/2005

I have had numerous friends and family that have gotten their wedding gowns, bridesmaids' gowns, and prom dresses too. They are family owned and operated and they make you feel like family too. Debbie still works there and is involved along with her kids. I understand why you have to have an appointment, they have consultants that show you all the merchandise, not just the stuff they want you to see, they dress you, and they are very attentive. I will be going there soon to get my dress, after the experience I had there as a prom shopper and the multiple bridesmaids gowns I have gotten there. They are great!!! Pros: selection, service, quality of product Cons: website more

The fine print sucks! 9/3/2005

Wed by Debbie was highly recommended by my sister-in-law so I was excited to make an appointment. However, once I got there I had to sign a form saying my appointment was only two hours, I got two free appts, and every appt after that would cost $50 (appliable to my dress purchase). The check-in lady was not nice at all. Once my consultant found me, she wasted 30 minutes just showing me around. I only tried on 5 dresses and was highly disappointed when I left. Unless I have to, I will not go here again. Pros: Good Selection Cons: Unfriendly, Inefficient, Uninformative more

Debbie's treats you like a bride! 8/8/2005

This is in my opinion the most upscale-feeling salon in Houston. The ladies were so wonderful! They require an appointment, but since I just showed up, they assigned me a saleslady and gave me an extensive tour of the facility (which takes up half of a strip mall). They explained all their policies and showed me where they store the ordered gowns. They have the biggest selection of gowns in Houston, and are the most helpful attendants of any place I have been! I highly reccomend this store to brides who are just beginning their hunt. They make you feel like Cinderella and you can get an idea of what you like. Unfortunatly, you do end up paying a bit more for the surroundings. Pros: Helpful, Attentive, Selection Cons: Price, Appointment only more

Do Not Buy From This Store. 5/27/2005

There are too many places in Houston that you can buy a dress. In my opinion, the customer service from this store is horrible. They have been rude on the phone to me several times. I once called and asked for directions - the lady on the phone knew I was almost an hour a way but failed to tell me that the store was going to be closing early that day. When I got there, they were closed. I will not spend my money here. Cons: Customer Service more
