Not worth it! 10/27/2009

Why pay all those overhead costs, when you can just have a sub-contractor come out and do the same job, at a fraction of a price? I had 360-904-8018, come out, and they gave me a WAY better price. Finished it twice as faster then the store quoted me! more

Trinitys the Best 4/25/2008

We went to 3 major flooring companies and found Trinity to be the best pricing, the most friendly and the ones who were willing to find the flooring that we wanted and went the extra mile. We are very happy and had a great experience. Very professional and yet made us feel at ease. Will use Trinity Carpet for our next house venture. Pros: nice sales people, great workmenship, got job done fast Cons: 2 locations more

Best customer service, fast installation, and awesome pricing!!! 4/25/2008

We used Trinity Carpet to do the flooring in our home. We had excellent customer service, fast installation, they even vacuumed and made sure everything was perfect. We only have good things to say about everything this company did for us from start to finish. In a very timely fashion. \r \r I have a friend who had her flooring done by Trinity Carpet and she had an issue with the floor and the Owner of the company actually called her immediately and rectified the concern. She highly reccomended them to me. She was very impressed and happy with the company and said she would definentely use them again and reccomend them to anyone. That is why we hired them. \r \r When I went to write my experience I was surprised to see the negative feedback, surely this wasn't the same company that we delt with. I am surprised by what others said about them. I would highly reccomend them and would say to anyone, enjoy the reasonable prices and same experience we had. \r \r Trinty Carpet, thanks for a great job done and will reccomend you to all our friends and family as the #1 flooring company in the Portland Metro Area! Pros: excellent pricing, quick installation. courteous workers Cons: can't think of any... more

Shoddy workmanship & Poor quality products 3/10/2008

Trinity Carpet installed new bamboo flooring in our new home one week before closing. They left gaps between planks, left off transition pieces, and even put cracked transition pieces in one place. Then the bamboo flooring turned out to be a cheap, thin alternative that dents when a spoon drops. A few weeks later one of their techs came back and offered to fix the shoddy job done by their subcontractors, even though, he didn't have to. (was ordered by previous owners) We were happy to see Trinity Carpet would care enough to fix a really bad job. Unfortunately over the following year, many infrequent follow-ups, and *four* of their own mistaken orders for a transition piece (an important one--entry into the living room!), they had the gall to suddenly demand that we pay for all their mistakes and sent us the bill. Forget it. Shoddy workmanship, extremely long time-to-repair, poor products, and bullying the customer when they're tired of fixing their chain of mistakes. Buyer beware! Pros: Perhaps inexpensive Cons: Very poor customer service, quality of work, and even product quality more

Nice product, over priced 2/28/2008

Trinity is a great place if money is no object. We encountered very friendly staff, who made some nice design suggestions for flooring throughout our home. However, after looking around, their costs were grossly over priced. For example, to install hard surfaces like Marble or Travertine, they want in excess twenty to twenty-two dollars per square foot which does not include product cost, trim or surface filling/treatment. This is triple of 3 other flooring stores quotes for the same products. Their hardwood floor choices are very nice, but again, their installation charges are double or greater of their competitors. I realize this place is marking up labor costs merely because they are a store front operation and take a cut at every possible opportunity. I can't speak to the quality of the work their sub contractors supply, but I would hope to be comparable with the Street of Dreams at those prices. Thanks, but there are many other flooring outfits that aren't trying to be something they are not in PDX. We are glad we shopped around because we left Trinity feeling shocked. Pros: Nice flooring options to see what is the latest trend, friendly staff Cons: Extremely over priced, inflated sense of themselves. more

Customer service at it's best! 1/25/2008

From the minute I stepped in the door I felt welcome and wanted. I was greeted professionally, I sat down with the salesperson and we started talking about the different details of my job.....I was getting ready to put in hardwood floors throughout my home. The salesperson I was working with answered all of my questions and was honest when she didn't know one, but quickly found the answer with one quick phone call to the manufacturer. She was helpful with design, color, and very personable. Prices were comparable with other stores but the thing that really blew me away was the extremely good service. Yes they charged for an estimate but it included one of their certified measure technicians coming out to my home and answering all of my remaining questions along with taking all of the EXACT measurments needed to give me the full and complete quote for the entire job. Two thumbs up for Trinity Carpet and Flooring. Anyone who wants knowlege needs to visit this place! Pros: Unbeatable Customer Service Cons: only two locations in portland more

Yikes! 12/6/2007

I was just checking this place after a coworker complained. Scary reviews! I met her after the fact of her flooring getting done. So I will tell YOU who to use - too late for her.... Go do a search- in this website under - Extract Away in Portland. They are in Hillsboro (503-640-6311) but travel all over, of course! They helped me buy carpet at a contractor store (saved $$) they didn't play games, found the best carpet for the little $ I had to spend. Saved enough to almost cover the whole install. (3 rooms) They have cleaned it since then too. They are GREAT!! No complaints from me. I never used Trinity so maybe I would do ok but not gonna try anytime soon after what I have read. more

Trust your instincts! 9/22/2007

The showroom is a disorganized shambles, the sales staff don't know their product and they charge for estimates. I told them I was on a schedule and needed to get the flooring done over the next 8 weeks. It is a two day job. They said no problem, then proceeded to waste my time promising the estimate 'the next day', for about two weeks. Then they started to give me static about getting it done within my schedule. The estimate I finally received was cryptic at best. Wrong material, wrong square feet measurements etc. I finally took a breath and realized it shouldn't be this hard. Is it incompetence or guile? Does it matter? I've found another shop to and they are wonderful to work with. Free estimates too. I''ve had to change my schedule, but I feel like I dodged a bullet. \r \r There are great flooring shops in Portland, this one isn't one of them.\r Pros: None. Cons: I'm not sure what business they think they are in. more

run as fast as you can 6/20/2007

Trinity is definately a well oiled machine (slick). I received a flyer in the mail saying they were offering big deals this week only and that I would save money. First of all good luck getting prices, they want to figure you out before they will tell you how much they charge. Yet, every store I visited before them had prices already on their carpets. So, as I am getting frustrated with the idea that the price is going to depend on my answers to their questions, I asked if they really would be about 40% less than the quote I received from the other stores. They claim these huge savings, I didn't go to a special place, I just went to 2 another stores and was given similar prices. But hey, if I can save 40% or even 10% why not?\r Well the saleperson started back peddling and really didn't want to discuss pricing the same carpets. This is when I realized that this was a well oiled selling machinge with all the tactics of a car lot. I just wanted to have an honest discussion about the prices and services they offer. I know that when a large store decides to not price the products, it's not a good thing. These are the exact same items they sell over and over everyday, how can they not know what they sell for or why wouldn't they put prices on them? \r No thanks, I prefer open and honest sales companies. My suggest is to run as fast as you can Pros: easy to get help than home depot or lowes Cons: I felt like I was buying a car more

Customer No Service Is Their Game 2/24/2007

I'm looking to purchase flooring which I will install myself. I've been going to the local stores to get prices and talk to salespeople for advice. As soon as I walked in to Trinity, I was asked if I had an appointment. I said I didn't know you had to have one to come in and browse. The salesman gave me his time with a tone of resentment. He took all my contact information after I requested the prices per square foot on a couple of different products. After a week, he still hadn't called.\r I went to the Home and Garden Show this week and went to the Trinity exhibit. I told the saleswomen there my story and they assured me that I would be contacted this week. Well, that was Wednesday and today is Saturday. Guess what ? No call from anyone.\r I called their store today and asked for prices over the phone, so I could compare them with 2 other quotes. I was told that they could not give that information over the phone. I told them that this was the last straw regarding my treatment. I WON'T EVER go back to their store again and I advise you to do the same. Cons: They are not interested in potential customers. more

You want to feel like you're buying a car... 11/28/2005

I decided to visit Trinity Carpet Brokers because of their rating. However, from the start it felt like I was at a car dealership. First, they charge a fee for someone to come out and measure. When we requested a date for a measurement we were told it was not available. Earlier in the week they said they could do it on that date but we had to visit the store before a measurement could be done. We were going to leave but the salesman says he will talk to his manager. The salesman goes over to the manager (Any feel like they are in a car dealership yet?) to talk. When we decide to leave, they say they can waive the measurement fees and have the measurement done on the day we requested. JUST BE HONEST FROM THE BEGINNING. BEWARE Trinity Car, err, Carpet Brokers. Pros: Price Cons: Customer Service, Selling Techniques, No Free Quotes more
