I have had one session of laser tattoo removal done here by the owner, Sara(h?). The waiting area was very relaxing and comfortably lit, and the receptionist was very kind and accommodating. The actual laser treatment was crazy painful as I had expected it would be, but was also surprisingly quick. Literally only took seconds to treat my small tattoo. I am definitely going back for another session more

Spa Sasse comes highly recommended. This retreat away from the busy city life, gives you peace as you walk down the stairs that lead you to the spa underground. The Spa staff are trained and knowledgeable in all of the products and services they offer. When I was 22 I got my first facial at Spa Sasse and was told how important it is to moisturize daily in order to keep my skin looking healthy and young. I am now 38, and although I am older, many people tell me that I do not look my age, they usually guess 30. This is the place to go to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul! more

This happened a long time ago so I don't know if the same person is doing lip and chin waxing. She claimed she did not need a lighted mirror unlike other places I had been to. She quickly did the waxing and when I got home I was bleeding and inflamed. I have scars and discoloration on my upper lip that look much worse than hair. The girl at the front desk mentioned that I should leave a tip. The place was so dark I didn't realize that the girl had done a bad job so I left a tip. So sorry I went to this place instead of returning to previous ones that had taken their time and knew what they were doing. more

I was really disappointed by my laser hair removal experience. I have done laser at several salons and I know what to expect. Their system with the carbon rub (to treat all skin tones and hair types) sounded great, but did not work anywhere close to other laser treatments. And, it has left my skin somewhat damaged, very rough and scaly, even months later. I purchased a package of 4 treatments through Groupon and was hassled by the owner, Sara, who tried to no fulfill the groupon that I had paid for . She is incredibly rude and does not deserve my business. I wish I had never come across this spa. My skin is damaged, the treatment ineffective, and to add insult to injury I had to deal with one of the bitchiest people on the planet. Do yourself a favor and find a better salon with a better laser machine. more

I had set up a laser facial rejuvenation with them and called ahead of time to find out more details if there was anything I needed to do to prepare for the treatment. Both women on the phone were short with me rude and cold. I got the impression they didn't like having a man come into their spa. Had I known that they are partial to only women clients I would have gladly spent my hard earned money somewhere else. To top it off I have an emergency come up at my office the morning of the my visit and am unable to make it to the spa. I have thousands of dollars riding on the resolution of this issue with one of my company's clients. I speak with the folks at Spa Sasse and am told that they are going to charge me the full amount and are unable to set up any rescheduling. Basically they can't do anything for me and that they hope my staying in the office to fix the problem "is worth it to me." Her exact words... Unprofessional, unfriendly and I am out a few hundred dollars. more

I just had a pedicure today at sasse and WOW was i blown away. my friend and I both got the ultimate spa pedi , what a treat! they truely have a magic touch ! the spa is quiet and cute and the products are so amazing( the owner makes them her self!!! WOW) cant say enough great things about this place. its a must ! more

Watch out...the price is ridiculous for the Ultimate Pedicure. You can receive the same services at an Aveda Salon for 1/2 the price; however, Billie is a treat and an outstanding technician and professional. She is worth the price, but instead of the Ultimate Spa, just go for the basic pedicure. more

I recently had a heavenly 90 minute massage at Spa Sasse. As I walked down the stairs into this beautiful spa, I was kindly greeted at the front desk. The front desk person walked me to the comfy spa waiting room where I was treated to my choice of tea or wine. I opted for a glass of red wine to pre-empt my relaxation. Sara, my massage therapist showed me to my calm massage room, where I prepped for what would be the most thorough and relaxing massage I have ever received. I asked Sara to pay special attention to my shoulders, where I hold stress. She paid careful attention to my shoulders, but certainly did not neglect the rest of my body. When the massage was sadly coming to an end, I mentioned to Sara that it was the best massage I had ever received. She told me that she is enjoys her job and is constantly staying educated in the latest techniques and methods. Her attention to detail was impeccable. I don't know if I'll ever be satisfied by another massage therapist again. As long as I'm in Portland, I'll be getting my future massages with Sara at Spa Sasse'. more

After running 26.2 miles in the Portland Marathon in the pouring rain, I went to Spa Sasse. If you've gotten a lot of massages in your life and want a place that knows what they're doing, go to Spa Sasse. My masseuse was a miracle worker and got to the exact spots that I most needed. She even showed me some hip flexor stretches afterwards. My 90 minute massage demonstrated the gifts of a VERY knowledgable and talented therapist, and I only wish I lived in Portland so I could go there once a month (or more!). The spa setting is cozy and the retail section of the store, where the owner sells her custom made bath product line Dish, is very alluring. I walked away with a bag full of her signature bath bombes and my treatment at minimal damage to the wallet. Located near lots of other great stores and restaurants, this place hit the mark all around. Spa Sasse? YES-- ABSOLUTELY!!! more

My sister and I had the Spa Sasse signature Cresendo about 5 years ago and we STILL talk about that experience! Every spa we go to we compare their treatments to the Cresendo! It is absolutely an amazing treatment! I am going to be in Portland again in November and wanted to take advantage of their Oct. Webspecial. I emailed and asked them if they could "stretch" the special out another week for us. They agreed and of course, we are thrilled. How great is that? I am sold on the Spa Sasse. I'm telling you....you'll never want to go to any other place from now on!! more

My sister and I went Spa Sasse as a gift to each other for taking care of our mother. WE HAD A GREAT TIME! I had a Massage, Facial, Pedicure and all three procedures were excellent . Sister had a water treatment that she said was a religious experience. Each person I encounter at the spa seemed happy and helpful or was I just Glowing. We loved our time at Spa Sasse! more

I really wanted to get my boyfriend a sexy Christmas gift (ultra-coifed me!) and suspected this would top his list of favorites. I’ve had some horrendous waxing experiences in my life, so the thought of a Brazilian made me sweat bullets, but a trusted friend highly recommended Spa Sasse so after a lot of nudging, I decided to be brave, go ahead and let ‘er RIP. To my surprise, even though the top part did hurt like a mother, it was finished so fast and the pain didn’t linger, that it seemed almost (I did say ALMOST) painless given the fact that I just had ALL my vagina hair ripped out by the roots. Yay!!! In contract to my past horrors of some newbie right out of beauty school taking hours and slopping wax all over my crotch, the table, the floor, my thighs and everywhere else, this was fantastic! I was in and out in less than 15 minutes with no bruising, no bleeding, no sticky wax all over my clothes and my thighs and butt cheeks weren’t sticking together! Her name was Sarah and she did a perfect job – no missed hairs, even got my hoo-ha! Whew! What a relief! At gift time, as I suspected, my boyfriend was ecstatic ~ WooHoo!!! The only problem is now he’s spoiled and I am hooked! more

The review of being taken to another planet through massage is true!!! I wished I lived in this town I would go to this spa as a wellness regimen! I travel often & get massages everywhere, this was one of the best!The location although conveient is easy to miss as their front door is the only part of the spa at street level. However, this keeps the downtown noise out, truly making it an oasis in the heart of downtown. I was mush! Relaxed and refreshed after by my massage, the therapist showed me a stretch I could incorporate into my work day to help me fight my chronic neck pain...so helpful!!! Pros: fabulous massage Cons: I don't live in Portland more
