Very unprofessional, Not recommended!!!!! 5/4/2006

My experience at Spa Sasse was definitely disappointing. I went for a laser facial, which now looking back on the experience is very scary that I trusted them to something as important as my face. My appointment was for 10 am. I didn't leave until 2:30pm; the actual facial took literally 5 minutes. That should tell you something. I was sent into dreary rooms to wait for long periods of time. The receptionist was rude and acted like I wasn't there and the technician acted like she had a lot better things she could be doing. I was patronized and belittled on my questions about laser resurfacing. Honestly I can't believe this company is still in business. I would NEVER recommend this spa (if you can call it that) to anyone. Cons: long wait, unprofessional, rude more

Love this Spa! 4/28/2006

My favorite place for pampering! Professional staff, nice atmosphere, and a wide variey of services, so I can get just about anything I want when I go there. It's a great place to spend the day or just an hour or so - very relaxing (you forget you're in the city), the massages and facials are epic, the staff is very friendly and accomodating. I recommend Spa Sasse' to my family and friends. Pros: location, easy parking, relaxing more

argh 4/27/2006

This place irritates me. To start, the staff clearly has the inability to give thorough information to new customers. not only did they not communicate the fact that they will charge your card if you miss your appointment, they did not tell me that to wear loose clothing. thanks people. The person who did my tan was really sweet and made me feel comfortable until she just left me sitting there moist from the tan and there were no towels provided. there wasn't even a visible garbage can for the underwear they provided. it was just strange. A day after my tan ... holy moses ... I'm dark skinned & this thing has SERIOUSLY turned me this weird color of orange (esp. my hands) gross. the worst part is that I smell like chemicals. i hate this tan and i don't EVER want to go back. thanks for nothing people. Pros: array of services Cons: irritating staff, lack of information more

Go elsewhere if you're looking to relax 4/23/2006

We got there 15 mins before our scheduled massage (they requested this so that we could fill in paper work) and were taken to a dark and dingy corner where there was no available seating. The atmosphere was not relaxing and the place was musty and dark. In addition, the bathroom does not have a working lock! (I found out the hard way). We waited for 15 mins after our scheduled appointment time before our room was ready and it was a let down. The sheets were so thin you could see through them (so much for privacy through draping), the table was not comfortable (you could feel the ridges), and the towels lining the face rest were rough. Spa Sasse was not at all like the other places I've gotten massages at. Overall, this was not a good experience and I will not be going back. Cons: Dark, damp, & dingy, not relaxing/spa-like, locks don't work! more

She's A Dish! 4/21/2006

I go to Spa Sasse 1x a month religiously for my facials. Spa Sasee has a wonderful, friendly, and professional staff of experts--especially dear Sarah who has transformed my facial skin from sad & clogged, to glowing & smooth. Also, for those who don't know, Sarah now has her own line of products SHE's A DISH available for purchase at the salon. I have been using the face serum that she recommended and I love it. Spa Sasse is fantastic. It is truly an oasis in the heart of the busy city of Portland. If you have never been here, you really should book an apointment. One visit and you'll be a devoted client for life! Pros: attentive staff, good price, relaxing more

Wooonderful! 2/2/2006

I have been a customer of Spa Sasse' for years, and whether I am having my hair cut, or getting a facial, massage or pedicure, I have always received wonderful services. I would recommend Sasse' to anyone! more

A Hot Date 1/17/2006

The massage and spa treatments are epic. I've been regularly going to Spa Sasse' for about 5 years. I recommend to everyone to try it. I introduced my girlfriend to this spa with a couples massage, that was a hot date, very successful. She loves the place, and now regularly uses the salon services after her massages. We are both hooked! Pros: easy parking, open Sundays, Quiet more

Worst spa experience ever. I left in tears! 1/11/2006

At first I thought this was going to be a good experience because the person that booked my wax appointment over the phone was really nice. However, when I got there they were not ready for me and made me wait (standing) about 20 minutes. I told them I had to get back to work and was about to leave and they rudely said that i could leave but was going to have to pay for the service anyway. Finally I was escorted to a room that was not set up. The lady seemed like she had no idea what she was doing, was rude and unprofessional, and to top it off, did the worst brow wax I have ever gotten (basically just waxed them all off, which was NOT what I wanted) The staff at the front was not at all sympathetic when i came out and actually didn't even say anything to me until I had to be the one to ask where I should pay. I am a very patient person and would normally not say bad things about anyone, but I have to say that I want others to know not to go to this "spa" Pros: close to work Cons: everything else more

Great Spa, Great Location! 12/17/2005

I travel to Portland frequently on business, and stay in some of the nicest hotels in the city. No matter where I stay, the Concierges all recommend Spa Sasse', so I tried it, and Wow! I can see why they get such great recommendations! The Massage and Facial I received were fabulous, the Spa is beautiful and it is so conveniently located, right in the middle of the city,. only a block from almost every hotel I've stayed at. Very nice, thank you, I'll be back! Pros: Great Location!, Open Sundays, Vast array of service more

Great Place, Best in the West!!! 12/5/2005

I had a very pleasent experience here, and will tell all my friends about this place, it is certainly the "Best in the West" more

*FIRST CLASS* 12/3/2005

What a GORGEOUS SPA!! I treated myself to a pedicure, manicure, and haircut. Not only are they talented at what they do, but I was treated like royalty as soon as I arrived! They really have it together! The staff were all very friendly and, seem to naturally all work as one making my services and visit even more enjoyable! It was first class all the way! Wine and canldlelight in the greeting area while my technician prepared my foot bath, Wow! what a great way and great place to destress. I loved the Shopping there as well. Scented Candles and Salt Rock Lamps were my favorite. I plan on going back soon to try out a few other services & will be giving gift ceritificates to friends and family as well. Pros: parking garge near, close to shopping, near theater more

Sectacular Spa Sasse' 11/28/2005

Every treatment was done to perfection! My Thalasso massage bath was beautiful the tub room is candlelit with soothing spa music piped in! Next I enjoyed the best massage ever! I felt as if I was floating after leaving the massage table! From there I dined in the exquisit candlelit dining room. I had a tasty light lunch served first class. I spent the rest of my day getting a wonderful manicure, Pedicure and Haircut With Maria. This was my best pedicure ever!! My haircut was perfect! I have very thick difficult hair and Maria did not even flinch at giving me a workable cut & style as well as a styling lesson. My day was polished off with a glamourous make-up application! All of the Staff were very accomodating and friendly! It's obvious that thier mission is to make every client as content as possible! Pros: Conveinient parking, close to hotels & sho, heart of the city!! more

Great Treatments, but Spa needs work 11/14/2005

Let me begin by saying that the well-named Crescendo is absolutely fabulous.: Full body massage, followed by hot oil, followed by a body scrub, followed by your own private hot rainstorm which comes out of the ceiling in the form of 6+ heavy sprays which cover every inch of you! Now the details of this spa need some work: -The layout is confusing because some of the doors aren't labeled: bathroom? changing room? closet? - The "relaxing" space w/couches is a nice but cold. - The robes are old and thintime to get fluffy ones! - My biggest complaint is the staff... who is a helper? a receptionist? Does treatments? I couldn't tell! Uniforms or some sort of dress code would be nice. There was a woman in cargo pants that seemed to be directing traffic. I couldn't tell who she was but her outfit, and hair, was terrible! Pros: Great Treatments, Value, Downtown location Cons: Spa details, Staff appearance, Homeless outside more

A Day At the Spa 10/14/2005

Spa Sasse offers a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. I had the opportunity to experience all treatments with a friendly, knowledgeable staff and the latest in skin treatments. All treatments were explained and I felt comfortable asking questions and getting opinions from the staff. This was a birthday present from my spouse; I enjoyed all treatments one of my favorites was the Thalysso Bath which allowed me to relax and renew my skin in a calm atmosphere surrounded by candles. I was also intrigued by the salt rocks located throughout the facility which are available to purchase. more

The BEST Spa experience EVER! 7/30/2005

We went in for a full day of treatments...The Zen Foot Massage Therapy was HEAVEN! The Couples Spa Day...well...what can I say...from the soak to the lunch, champagne and truffles...then on to one of the best massages I have ever gotten and finishing up with the Salt Glow Exfoliation...We didn't want to leave! The staff were all extremely friendly, knowledgable and at our service! It was exactly what you expect when you go to a spa! The setting was very unique and tranquil. We we at ease from the moment we walked in! WE WILL BE BACK, OFTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to everyone there for one of the most luxurious times of our lives! more

Most expensive/ worthless pedicure I've ever had! 7/11/2005

I visited this spa for the first time last month. I normally go to a place over on Broadway by Lloyd Center, but because of an impending out-of-town trip I went here to save time. I was never told the price of the pedicure when I made my appointment in person. I was made to wait 15 minutes after my appointment time and they didn't even have a color that I wanted. For $35, I should be able to get exactly what I want. Not to mention, a week later, my polish started chipping off and my cuticles were growing over. I normally pay $20 for a pedicure that lasts three weeks. Cons: humid, poor customer service, poor color selection more

Very Happy 5/29/2005

I've had a lot of pedicures and this was one of the best! Billie whipped my feet into shape and was extremely thorough. I look for places that go after my callouses - now I'm ready for summer shoes! Try the spray tan too! It's professionally applied (by a person!) and more effective than the mystic machines. The best part is you're not hurting your skin by taking the edge off that pasty white Oregon glow. more

Lovely Day! 5/25/2005

My daughter bought me a gift card as a special treat for Mothers Day, and what a treat it was! I had no idea what to expect, and was a bit aprehensive at first, but they were very friendly and attentive, and I relaxed right away. I had the Mom's Getaway package: A Bath, Facial, Lunch, Pedicure and Manicure. It was all lovely. The only thing I would do different next time is to bring my daughter along to enjoy a Spa Day with me! - Lisa Pros: easy parking, friendly, professional more

Not worth the $ 5/8/2005

I took my aunt and mother for pedicures the evening before Mother's day. Pedicures are listed as being 3/4 of an hour, which is 45 minutes. Not one of us got a 45 minute pedicure, more like 30 minutes max. No sooner did the leg massage start - then it was over. You can get a better pedicure for less at a mall or similiar, less expensive establishment. Don't make the last appt of the day! more
